So in today's video we're going to take a look at the Galaxy Tab, a7 lite versus the Galaxy Tab, an 8.4 prices on these range from about 160 bucks up to 280. , depending on which version you get in the United States. The tab, a7 lite is Wi-Fi only, but you can get the international version which works on unlocked GSM carriers, the tab, an 8.4 is available on 18t Verizon T-Mobile. Weird thing is, I haven't seen a Wi-Fi version of the 8.4, only v87 lite and as of this video, you can only get the 32 gigabyte version of the 8.4 where you can choose between 32 or 64 gigabytes of storage on the Galaxy Tab, a7 lite. Now the Galaxy Tab, a7 lite it has a pretty decent size screen at 8.7 inch. It is only 720p resolution, though, while the tab an 8.4, has well you guessed it an 8.4-inch screen, but it's 1080p resolution instead of 720, and that makes a huge difference. In my opinion, text is gonna.
Look a little more crisp. Videos and images are gonna, look a little better. It's just sort of like you got new glasses, and you don't find yourself squinting as much once you look at the tab. An 8.4, some people will say the a7 light screen, looks horrible and that's probably because they're used to seeing a 1080p resolution screen so yeah. I guess this one is pretty easy.
If you want the better looking screen, it's definitely going to be the 8.4 inch. However, the Galaxy Tab a7 light is actually quite a bit brighter, especially when you put these right next to each other, it's pretty obvious which one's brighter you also get full HD playback on Netflix, where you only get SD on the Galaxy Tab, a7 lite. Now when it comes to batteries on these two tablets, the tab a7 lite died after about six hours, while the tab, an 8.4, died after about six and a half hours, so really close battery life in my testing. Weird thing is: the battery is a little larger on the a7 light, but the screen is also larger. I don't know I guess I thought it would be the other way around when it comes to battery life, but yeah you want slightly better battery life, go with the tab.
An 8.4 now speakers on both of these tablets could be a little louder in my opinion, but the tab, an 8.4 speakers are definitely louder than those on the a7 lite, even though they put a speaker on each side of the tablet. Yeah the tab, 8.4 definitely sounds better louder has a little better bass. Even downside is they're bottom firing speakers, so it sort of comes down to what your preference is on speaker placement. For me, I think I'd go with the louder speakers, even though I like the idea of having a speaker on each side. If you can't hear them that good well, I just don't know if it matters where they're located so hmm.
Now the tab, an 8.4 is on android 11, one UI 3.1 security patch June 1st, while the Galaxy Tab, a7 lite, is also on android 11, one UI 3.1 with may first security patch. So, as expected, you're going to get a very similar experience on both tablets with just minor differences like, for instance, you get the Google News feed on the left of the home screen on the a7 lite, but then on the 8.4 you have Samsung free, but if you're at all familiar with other Samsung tablets or phones, you're going to be familiar with both of this performance, wise you've got a MediaTek mt8768 on the Galaxy Tab, a7 lite and then my version of the tab. An 8.4 here has the Enos 7904, and you're going to notice. The geek bench scores are very similar between these two. You get a little higher on the single core scores for the 8.4, but a little higher on the multi-core scores for the a7 lite. Now I know benchmark scores, don't tell the entire story, I feel they do give you an overall idea of what to expect.
With these two tablets. You can browse online watch. Videos check social media, do pretty much everything you would normally do just keep in mind. They're, not gonna, be as fast as your cell phone. Now, when it comes to gaming, I noticed on games like PUBG mobile.
You get a little higher graphics on the tab, an 8.4, but as far as how fast the games load they're pretty much the same sure these aren't going to be the most powerful tablets, but once you get the games loaded, PUBG mobile asphalt, 9 Call of Duty mobile all three play fairly decent. My testing and I feel like both of these tablets are good enough for some casual gaming after gaming for a while, they will get a little warm, but nothing to be concerned about now. If you've seen my other videos you're going to realize the cameras on tablets are not that great and just like most tablets, I review on the channel yeah. These are not that great either. Here's a few samples of each just to give you an idea of what to expect either way you go you're going to get below average picks, no matter which tablet you choose, especially if the lighting is not that good.
Now for video you're going to get full HD at 30 frames per second on the front and rear facing cameras on the 8.4, but you'll only get that on the rear facing camera for the Galaxy Tab. A7 lite, just like I always say, you're, definitely going to get better photos and video by just using your cell phone uh. The weird thing is when looking for the tab, an 8.4 online right now, it's almost like they're phasing out this tablet. You can still get it on carrier websites and on Amazon. So that's definitely good to see.
There's, definitely something weird going on with the official Samsung website. Somebody in case you haven't realized it so far. The Galaxy Tab, an 8.4, is definitely a better tablet, in my opinion, in several ways, but hopefully this gave you a little better idea of which tablet is the right one for you between the Galaxy Tab, a7 lite and the Galaxy Tab, an 8.4.
