Which is better the Samsung Galaxy h1 II or the iPhone 11. Well, in this video we're going to find out hi everyone. This is Kevin here coming at you with my comparison between the Samsung Galaxy, a 20 and iPhone 11. Now I know that many of you who follow the channel are big fans of the galaxy 820 and for a good reason, because this device has been a very solid budget phone and probably is one of my favorite budget phones of 2019. The phone has been out for a little while now it's been on Metro by T-Mobile for at least two months at this point, and that's actually where I got this. This is the Metro variant of the galaxy.
A 20 and I can also buy it on Amazon factory, unlocked in both the international version of the phone and a new US edition of the galaxy a 20s. So you have a lot of options to get a Galaxy a 20. So definitely take a look at the link in the video description. Now the Apple iPhone 11 is very new to the market. I just got this about a week and a half ago, so it's been a pleasure used.
So far, I've been using this phone with visible, and it is a nice evolution from the iPhone 10 are of last year now the galaxy, a 20 is currently available for two $49.99 for the US unlocked version of the device. Now you can certainly get it for a lot cheaper. If you decide to go the international route, or you can save even more money, if you get it through a carrier with some carriers offering this device for free with the porting. Now this version of the iPhone 11 is the factory unlocked version of the phone. It supports all US carriers and I paid six hundred.
Ninety-nine dollars for the device, so not quite as expensive as some higher-end flagship phones like the iPhone 11 Pro and Galaxy S, ten, which are in the thousand dollar range, but definitely not as inexpensive as the galaxy 820. So it's definitely to be interested in this video to see how a budget device compares to you a lower-end flagship. Now the galaxy a 20 features a six point: four inch AMOLED display at 720p with the 19 and a half nine aspect ratio and the iPhone 11 features a smaller 6.1 inch display. But it is LCD and features a resolution of 828 by 1792 and a 19 and a half by 9 aspect ratios. So you will be getting a higher pixel density with the iPhone 11, but you are getting a better display technology with AMOLED at the galaxy, a 20, and I'm sure you can see side-by-side here that the colors on the galaxy, a 20, are definitely brighter and bolder and pop a lot more now holding the basis of these two phones in line with each other.
You can definitely see that you are getting a larger display without a doubt with the galaxy a 20. Another big difference, of course, is the notch on the top we've a pretty massive notch on the iPhone 11, whereas on the galaxy, a 20, and so there is small and minimalist notch with a teardrop design that barely takes up any space. So you have a lot of space at the top of the galaxy. A 24 all of your various notifications and system status, icons, whereas with the iPhone 11, we don't even have room for the battery percentage. So definitely with that large notch up top, you do get some limitations.
Now. Both devices feature your front facing cameras with an 8 megapixel front, facing camera on the galaxy, a 20 and a 12 megapixel front facing camera on the iPhone 11 with this front facing camera on the iPhone 11. One of the new features for this year is that we do get 4k video recording at 60 frames per second and along with that, we're getting a lot of nice camera improvements with better quality now I'll be covering all of that in my full iPhone 11 review. So stay tuned. For that, but I, don't think anyone can argue that you are gonna, be getting a better front-facing camera with the iPhone 11 over the galaxy 820, but the camera on the galaxy 820 still is very decent.
Now you can get the galaxy 820 with 32 gigabytes of internal storage, with SD card expansion up to 512 gigabytes and the iPhone 11 is available in 64 gigs 128 gigs in 256 gigs. But there is no SD card slot with this phone, so you're stuck with whatever amount of internal storage you decide to go with now. This version of the phone is the 64 gigabyte version of the device. So, with the base models of both devices, you are getting double the amount of storage with the iPhone 11 and 64 gigs. Now there is no wireless charging with the galaxy a 20, and we do get wireless charging with the iPhone 11.
It does work really well, and it is a feature that I actually do use quite often, so I do wish the galaxy h1 II did have wireless charging, but unfortunately it doesn't know with the galaxy a 20. You can unlock the device with your face, but there's also a fingerprint sensor on the back. So we'll try that out right now, and it works very quick, and it's nice and convenient having that on the backside of the phone and with the iPhone 11. All we have is face ID on the top here, and we do not have a fingerprint sensor anywhere on the phone, so we'll try face ID right now, and that was nice and quick, so you're able to quickly access the device. I actually need to set this so that as soon as the device sees my face, it goes straight to the home screen, instead of being on the lock screen.
But you get the idea you do get any very fast and accurate face unlock with the iPhone 11, and it works just as well, whether you're doing it in the light or dark. Now both devices feature dual cameras on the back, so with the galaxy 820 we're getting a 13, megapixel main camera and a 5 megapixel secondary camera that secondary camera on the phone is also a wide-angle camera, which also happens to be one of the new features that comes with the iPhone 11. So the main camera on the iPhone 11 is 12 megapixels, and we have a secondary 12 megapixel ultra wide-angle camera. So I am a big fan of having a wide-angle camera and I do want to show you with both devices the advantage of having that feature. So you can see right here.
This is with the standard, camera right, and now I'm going to switch over to the wide-angle, and you can see how much more content I'm able to fit into the frame here now I'm going to do the same thing with the iPhone 11. So this is that 1x, and then I'm going to switch it to the wide-angle right there, and you can see just like the wide angle on the galaxy 820. This phone does fit a lot more content in when you do use that mode and in case you're interested to see how much wider each one is. It really looks to be about equal with both devices. It looks like one isn't wider than the other, so that's definitely something interesting to keep in mind when deciding which one to buy the galaxy.
A xx has three gigabytes of RAM. The iPhone 11 has four gigabytes of bran the galaxy, 20 features, Samsung's Enos, 7, 9, 0, 4 processors and the iPhone 11 has Apple's a 13 Bionic processor. Now I did run into two benchmarks with both devices here so that you can see the scores that they each have and with the Galaxy a 20. We get an overall score of 109 zero, zero, eight and at the iPhone 11 we get a score of four five one, one five. So we get a pretty dramatically higher score with the iPhone 11 and that's to be expected, considering how much more this device is than the galaxy a 20, but you can see, especially with the CPU score you're, getting a dramatically higher score with the iPhone 11.
So really nothing surprising. There I just thought I'd throw that in to give you an idea of the actual scores you're getting with both phones. Now, video recording on the galaxy 820 maxes out at 1080p at 30 frames per second and video recording on the iPhone 11 maxes out at 4k at 60 frames per second, the galaxy. A 20 has a four thousand William hour internal battery. Then the iPhone 11 has a 3110 William hour internal battery, so we are getting a larger battery by almost 900 million powers with the galaxy a 20.
Now the Samsung Galaxy, a 20 runs Android 9pi with Samsung's thick skin laid over it. It does perform very well, and it's nice and smooth, and if the iPhone 11 we get iOS 13, so definitely some major differences when it comes to specifications with both phones, but I do find it interesting that, with both devices we get a standard camera, and we get wide-angle. So especially if the galaxy, a 20 having a wide-angle camera on the back, is a unique feature, but those are the specifications of the two devices hardware wise. Of course, we are getting a larger display here with the galaxy, a 20, as I mentioned, before we're getting AMOLED versus LCD with the iPhone 11. But both displays do look good.
You can definitely see here that we do have a higher pixel density with the iPhone 11. It's a bit clearer when it comes to that than the galaxy a 20, but I definitely prefer the colors in the galaxy a 20 over what we're getting with the iPhone 11. Now we do have a little of a thicker bezel on the bottom of the galaxy, a 20, whereas the bezel around the iPhone 11 is pretty much symmetrical here. ? the notch on the top I do definitely prefer having that teardrop notch on the galaxy. A 20, though so definitely nice thing to see there now taking a look on the left side of the two phones on the galaxy, a 20.
We just have the slot for the micros card and SIM card, with a plastic band running around the side of the device. Now on the iPhone 11, we have the mute switch, and we have the volume buttons, and we have a metal band running around the sides of the phone. So it definitely feels very premium in that aspect. Now, on the right side of the two devices on the galaxy 820, we have the volume button, and we have the power button and on the iPhone 11 we have the power button, which also is the Siri button. Then, on the top of the two phones on the galaxy, a 20, we just have a noise-cancelling microphone, and we have nothing on the iPhone 11 and then on the bottom of the two phones on the galaxy, a 20.
We have the speaker, we have the microphone, we have the USB-C port for charging and data transfer, and we have the 3.5 millimeter headphone jack and on the iPhone 11 we have the microphone. We have the Lightning port for charging and data transfer, and we have the speaker. It definitely would've been nice to see a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack on the iPhone 11. But if you've been keeping up with Apple lately, then you know that that's definitely a thing of the past for them, but I know many people still have 3.5 millimeter headphones, so for those people they might want to go with the Galaxy 820, just because the phone still does have that on the bottom. Now take a look at the back of the two devices.
There are some pretty major differences and similarities. Of course, both phones do have dual camera modules. There's no doubt that the camera module on the iPhone 11 is a lot bigger and bolder than what you're finding with the galaxy 820. Both devices feature a flash on the back side. We have a pretty big microphone with the iPhone 11 is well there.
We have a fingerprint sensor in the back of the galaxy, a 20. Furthermore, we have the logos for both Samsung and Apple, and on the back of the Samsung Galaxy, a 20 we have plastic and on the back of the iPhone 11, we have glass, so definitely more premium build with the iPhone 11. This is the product red verse. The iPhone 11 I forget what charity that supports, but I'm always happy to give money to charity when possible. Now another comparison I want to throw in here is a Wi-Fi speed test.
Now, of course, this isn't the most reliable test, because every test I do probably will give me different results, but I am connected to the same router with both phones, so I'm going to be doing a test. First, with the galaxy 820 to see the kind of speeds we get, and then I'll compare it to the iPhone 11. So here we go. Let's go and see what we get. I am paying for around 150 megabits per second down, and it looks like we are getting pretty close to that at kind of around 143 megabits per second, it's actually going up a little, so maybe we'll actually get nope looks like the overall download is 146 megabits per second, not bad.
Now we're doing the upload looks like it's around 10 megabits per second, which is what I'm paying for I wish. It was a lot higher than that, especially considering that I really do upload a lot more content than download content. But you can see the overall upload score, is 11 point 4 megabits per second, and for those of you who still call it megabytes per second, do your research? There is a big difference between a megabit per second and a megabyte per second. Now, let's go to the speed test app here on the iPhone 11 will test this out right now, also connected to the same Wi-Fi network, of course, and let's see what kind of speeds we get with this device, and it looks like we are definitely getting faster speeds here: Wow, okay, gorilla, a higher speed that I'm even paying for this is insane, so I mean I'm, pretty happy that the speeds we're getting with the galaxy a 20. That's for sure, but it looks like we are getting faster speeds on the same network for the download with the iPhone 11 I'm sure we are getting a higher-quality Wi-Fi antenna on here, but that's definitely quite a bit faster and actually looks like with the upload we're getting a slightly slower, speed, so good stuff.
Here, though, on both devices I, definitely don't think one is necessarily slow with the Wi-Fi. It's just that we do get a faster download speed, at least in that test with the iPhone 11. The next thing that I'm going to be doing is a speed test year, and we're gonna start by pulling up the cameras on both phones. So one two three go: it looks like the iPhone 11 was quicker, pulling up the camera, but both devices were very quick at doing it. So definitely not like one was really slow, and the other was fast.
The next thing we're going to do is do a browser speed test here now. I want to point out because I know someone's going to mention it in the comments that I am comparing Chrome to Safari and I should download Chrome on this device test, but I'm. Actually, comparing the default browsers, not comparing just chrome head-to-head, so keep that in mind and for the average user out there they're, probably not even going to download a third-party browser. So that's why I'm doing the test two this way, so one two three go and there's near-instant on the iPhone 11 at pulling up Safari and definitely a little slow where you're pulling up Google Chrome on the Galaxy, a 20, let's go to engadget. com one two three go looks like the iPhone 11 is quicker at pulling up and gadget now I was expecting the iPhone 11 to be quicker and everything.
That's pretty obvious. I mean I, don't know who wouldn't. But what this video is supposed to point out here is how much faster? Is it really for paying a lot more money than the galaxy a 20? Are you really getting that faster of speeds by paying like three times the amount and that's up for you to decide, but it looks like with both phones? We are getting very smooth scrolling, so I am very happy with the web browsing experience with both of them pinch-to-zoom very smooth on the iPhone 11 and very smooth on the galaxy 820 as well. Maybe you're not as smooth, but still both devices are good. With that one two three go: it looks like in this test.
The galaxy 820 is actually first to pull up that article. So, as you can see, the galaxy h1 team does a very good job at keeping up, despite it being a much cheaper, lower end phone. So I'm really interested to know your thoughts about the galaxy, a 20 and the iPhone 11, which phone do you think, is a better value and by value I mean which phone do you think is more worth the price? Is it worth pane $6.99 for the eleven or, if should you pay one, or should you pay two $49.99 for the Galaxy 820, and that would be to unlock us version? Of course, because there is the international version that is dramatically cheaper now, let me know in the comment section below really interested in know your thoughts I think both phones are decent. I think you'll be very happy with either one no matter what direction you choose to take, but it really does depend on your budget, but if you are looking to buy either of these two phones or if you want to see the current pricing for them, then take a look at the link in the video description, but this is Kevin here thanks to watching this is the Samsung Galaxy a 20. This is the Apple iPhone, 11, and I will see you in the next video.
