Word has been linked near the underworld grapevine, so the rumor mill is officially in motion and word has been leaked by the underworld grapevine via a credible Japanese source, a cryptic message which holds some information about the Xperia 1 mark iii and if you're wondering about the Sony, Xperia 1 mark 3's release date. Historically, Sony tend to announce their latest flagship at the MWC in Barcelona and that normally takes place in February. But in 2021 it's been pushed back to June. My guess is its only going to do an online launch event, and it's only had a habit of announcing things and then making us wait three or four months before we can actually buy it effectively, not capitalizing on the hype. That's around the announcement, so maybe just maybe Sony will approach it a bit differently in 2021 and potentially announce the device a bit later on. My guess is around March and if you're wondering about the actual release date of the Sony, Xperia 1 mark 3, most likely it's going to be in May 2021.
So before we get into the fascinating cryptic leak from that Japanese source. I just want to run through some of the specs that we're pretty much guaranteed to see on the Sony, Xperia 1, mark iii. The Xperia 113 will be a tall slim phone. It will have stereo speakers, it will certainly have an OLED display. It will have that quick release, hybrid sim tray, which also supports SD cards.
The dedicated camera button will be there almost certainly, and it'd be cool if they let us remap it this time as well. And yes, it will have a headphone jack as well, and I can pretty much guarantee you. This phone will have the latest and greatest Qualcomm snapdragon 5 nanometer 888 5g chipset in there, and really it is the best of the best when it comes to chipsets for mobile phones. So we're going to see these upgrades when it comes to this chipset over last year's Xperia one mark ii, we're going to have a 25, faster CPU, we're gonna, have 35, faster graphics, rendering and better shading and better colors as well. The touch sampling is also going to be 20 better, which means this is going to be a fantastic gaming phone.
When it comes to download speeds, it will support 5g and hopefully, Sony put in some millimeter wave antennas this time they can do it, they did it on xb1 pro, but it definitely will support Wi-Fi six, which means up to 3.6 gigabits per second download speeds, honestly, that's ridiculously fast, and it will support quick charge 5.0, which can potentially charge a battery from zero to 100 in 15 minutes. But, as you know, and I know, Sony don't really go down the road of superfast charging, they prefer to limit the charging speeds and therefore prolong the life of your smartphones. Let me know if you agree with that approach or whether you prefer that blistering fast charge speeds. Now those are just a few of the upgrades that the snapdragon 888 are going to bring to the table there are loads more. I might make an entire video about that.
If you guys want to see it now when it comes to the cameras and the fingerprint sensors, these are two bits of hardware that I hope are improved. So when it comes to the cameras, I wouldn't be surprised to see a triple camera array, but maybe a slightly higher megapixel count behind those. This time I heard rumors- and these are just purely rumors- of a 15 megapixel sensor behind the primary lens and a potential periscope zoom on the third lens. So that would be interesting if they do that, I can tell you, though they will be mass coating on those lenses when it comes to the selfie camera. Let's hope they upgrade it this time and go for something a bit better and, let's hope they put in 3d face unlock in the next Xperia 1 mark 3.
, and as for that fingerprint reader, it is okay. It's not the best, and I personally would love to see Sony go with the in display sonic fingerprint reader from Qualcomm the new one which supports single digit, authentication and double-digit authentication for apps, like banks and stuff, like that, you can use two fingers to log in as opposed to one, and that just adds another level of security, and I haven't seen any other companies doing that. Yet it is a technology that exists. Let's hope Sony implements it on experience, one mark iii, but anyway, that's just wishful thinking from me now on to the Japanese word on the street, and this one came in the form of a binary code from a respected Easter. Now this code, when decrypted, reveals some very likely and exciting specs.
When we break this code down using a binary calculator, we get the result, 5 000. , the hexadecimal of this is 1388 and the code is 13 bits, and apparently this translates to the equation: 4 096, plus 512, plus 256, plus 128 plus 8. Now that's just a bunch of numbers, and you're, probably thinking what the hell am I talking about. Well, it will make sense in a minute, so here's what it could mean that 4096 at the beginning of that equation could relate to the battery size, which is pretty cool, but I much prefer the second train of thought, which is way more exciting, and I'll get back to that in a minute. Okay, let's get on to the rest of that binary riddle, the 512, the 256 and the 128 are very likely to be storage options.
So that's not much of a surprise here, but let's hope that Sony go with the latest version of UFS, so we get the fastest read and write speeds. Now the eight at the end of the equation is almost certain to be the ram. Eight gigabytes of ram is plenty for a flagship in 2021 as long as it's good quality ram, there's no point of doing loads of ram and just having really crap components. Sony do tend to go with premium quality materials and elements so fully expect this to be a really solid bit of eight gig ram, but now going back to that, 4096 number this. If it's true, it's very, very exciting word on the street is that the Sony Xperia 1 mark 3 will have the world's first 4k DCI display with a resolution of 4096 by 2160, which means the Sony spirit.1 mark 3 will be UHD, but it will have a new aspect- ratio of 1.9 to 1, which is a much better ratio for consuming video content on a smartphone, and I actually export my videos at 2 to 1 ratio. For that very reason, it just fills the screen much better, yes, 21 21x9 is amazing for movies, but everything else.
When watched in landscape mode, you end up with bars down the left and right-hand side of the screen. So, in my opinion, this move to DCI 4k is a very smart one from Sony. Trust me. I think this might be the best Xperia we've ever seen so Xperia 1 mark 3 will be the world's first DCI 4k HDR smartphone on the market. Are you excited about it? Let me know in the comments below and if you enjoyed this video, and you're a Sony fan, then I'd appreciate a thumbs up and if you just subscribed you're now one of the finest subscribers known to man see you the next one, don't be late.
