iPhone 12 Long Term Review: 6 Months of Realisation By Rohit Arora

Hi everyone, so if you're following my channel for some time, you know this is my first iPhone and my first experience with iOS. I purchased this phone just for review purposes but ended up making it my primary phone. It wasn't easy at first and there were times when I had to carry my android device as well. I already made a video about it. I just didn't talk about the call recorder because I don't use it. Furthermore, I respect other people's privacy and I think you should too so.

My first iPhone video was one of my most popular video and I got a lot of comments. Some people agreed with me. Some people did not agree with me and some people are still confused. I get a lot of messages that a lot of people purchased, iPhone and loved it, and a lot of people purchased it and hated it and went back to android. Don't worry, I'm not asking you to switch.

In fact, I love android and more than iOS sometimes, but this iPhone made me realize that how a stable software is so important it made me realize a phone should be effortless not fast. It should not irritate you, because the whole world is already irritating you too dark. It should be secure enough that you can do anything on it without thinking about it, a phone that can give you control and do not show ads on Instagram. After listening to your conversation, I get if it's impressive, but it's also creepy. I really like what iOS 14.5 brings to the table. I mean you have the control that which app will share the data and which does not.

Furthermore, I actually stopped sharing my data with apps a long time ago, and it saved me a lot of money. It's just simple. If you're searching anything on Google, that google is going to share that information with Facebook or Instagram, and they're going to show you ads even on android, it works the same, but in iOS 14.5 you can turn off that permission in android. You can actually just turn off the microphone permission, but if you search anything on Google, Facebook and Instagram will know- and I really hope that android also brings this kind of feature, so you don't have to share one application data to another application and at least unless I don't want to if you learn something new, please share it with other people as well but other than privacy. It also made me realize that how important is an ecosystem as well? I started appreciating Samsung ecosystem after using iPhone.

I know it's not there, but they're getting better and better and ecosystem helps you in a lot of things. Furthermore, I mean the fearlessness between devices, hand off, airdrop and just switching the audio saves you a lot of time. Furthermore, I know iOS has its limitation, but it's very powerful. Furthermore, I know it's not flexible, but it's more secure in so many ways. Furthermore, I know it's not as protective as android, but it has a good developer support which makes the app feels better and after using iPhone.

Furthermore, I actually understand why iOS and android is not for everyone. Well, that was enough about software, but what about design? It's a good design, but I really like this device because of its size. The 6.1 inch is still big for me, but if I compare it with the competition, it's still better than most of the android phone out there it's easier to use it with one hand flat. I just make it more elegant, yet it's not as comfortable if you're, using 12 pro max, but with this size it didn't bother me, and anyway I use a case on it. One thing that a lot of people talk about the iPhones is that notch the design is good.

The bezels are so slim, but there's that notch that is coming from iPhone 10. It's exactly same. I can't like that. I don't notice it, but I only notice it when I'm watching Netflix for a very long time, otherwise, in day to day youth, it's not there or your brain gets used to it. If notch is the only reason that you're not switching to iPhone, I get it, but you're not going to like it.

Unless you try. It displays one another area where it's not everyone's cup of tea. Does that make it a bad display? No, it's actually an amazing display. I really like that. How iPhone is tuning the color and the color accuracy is amazing, but if you are coming from Samsung super AMOLED and vivid colors, this display is going to look warmer and boring at first.

I actually felt the same. I think this is one of the main reason that I didn't switch to iPhone before, but after being a tech reviewer, I actually started appreciating color accuracy more, whether clicking pictures sharing it on social media or just creating content. Yes, it's not a very vibrant display when you're watching anything on YouTube, but when you're watching anything on Netflix, the dynamic range is amazing. I'm not just talking about the Dolby Vision content. If you watch a standard content on it on a low brightness, the dynamic range is perfect, but it's something that I appreciate, and it's not for everyone to like, but it makes my life easier as a content creator, I'm not going to talk about the 60, hertz and 120 hours, refresh rate, because if the phone is smooth I mean I don't care about which refresh it I'm using and trust me when I say it, I use a lot of high refresh rate phone.

I mean I use them side by side with this iPhone and I never felt that it's a slow phone by any means. So when I initially reviewed this device, I did not talk about the performance at all. I actually skipped it because we all know that apple makes great silicon chips, and they are crazy, powerful, and I don't even see the point of sharing the geek bench score or any sort of benchmark if the phone performs really well, I mean, if you throw anything at it, it's going to perform exceptionally well. So it's just been six months and nothing has really changed. It's still a very fast phone.

The GPU is also powerful, so the gaming is also good and the camera processing and video processing also perfect. So I don't really think there's anything to emphasize on, but there's one thing that I want to emphasize on, and that is the battery life being a five nanometer chip. It's really power efficient, and it's a very small battery, but this is one of the best battery performance I've used on any phone. Yes, I'm comparing with android phone as well. Yes, it does not give me the best screen on time like a six thousand million pair battery sort of phone, but this phone never ran out on me in any single day.

My battery health is still 100 after six months. I can still get over eight hours of screen on time and every time I go to bed, I usually have 40 to 50 percent of battery left, even after 5 hours of screen on time. In a single day, I charge my phone wirelessly overnight with optimized battery on and what it does. Is it slow down the charging on 80, and it completes the charging just before I wake up, maybe one or two hours before I mean what else? If we talk about the haptics they're perfect, I mean they set the benchmark for android to catch up. Yes, they're catching up slowly, but it's still the best, and if I talk about the serious speaker, they're perfect they're, not the best I've used in a phone, but they're perfect in any situation.

And the last thing I want to talk about is the cameras I'm going to keep it short, because I've made a lot of camera comparison with this phone. They are the most reliable cameras. I've ever used, they're, not the best, but they're satisfying their as good as pixel when it comes to point and shoot, and they're as good as s21 plus when it comes to versatility. Yes, I'm not going to compare it with the s21 ultra because of all of that zoom. That phone is in a different league and the biggest advantage that iPhone has over android is the social media app.

So if you take any picture on this and post on any social media, it's not going to degrade the quality. So the iPhones are the dream phone for social media enthusiasts and if I talk about video they're still the best. If I talk about the 4k, normal recording or just Dolby Vision, there are perfect camera setup. I actually shot a lot of b-roll on my iPhone 12. See.

I know I criticize a lot of phones and I get a lot of hits because of that in this video. Furthermore, I'm praising this iPhone 12. So I'm going to be an apple fanboy. But when I made a video of switching from android to iOS, I was a Samsung fanboy and when I criticized apple m1 Mac mini, I was apple hater see. I can't change your opinion.

I can't do anything about how you feel or how you think, but I can just say one thing if I like something, I'm going to praise it and if I don't like anything, I'm going to criticize it because it's all about experience also, I know a lot of people find iPhones expensive. Yes, they are expensive, but I said in my review: expensive is not overpriced and there is a reason that this is the best-selling iPhone and right now you can get a lot of exchange offer discount on this phone.
