Hey guys welcome back to another video with LIM reviews, so in today's video we'll be checking out two very hot products. Currently, in the market, we have the band 5, one of the best smart bands available, as well as the halo ls02, which is a halo's latest budget, smartwatch that a lot of you guys really love, so before we start off. I just want to let you know that in this video I'll be talking more about the similarities as well as some differences and which you should finally pick for your ultimate purchase decision. Okay, so uh just to let you know the pricing for both devices they're a bit different. The mi band 5 here actually comes in at about 50 us dollars and depending on which country the price will definitely vary. The halo ls02, on the other hand, here cost me about 25 to 20 to 25 us dollars, and again this really depends on where you're from, and yeah pricing will definitely vary, depending on where you purchase these devices.
Okay, so, essentially, what you can see here is that the mi band 5 is actually double the price of the halo ls02. So it's either you get the band a very nice band or the watch itself. Okay, so now that uh, I actually used these devices for quite a bit. Now. Let me just put the boxes aside and bring the devices up close for you guys to see.
Obviously we can see a major difference between both form factors. Here we have a smart band on my left. This is the mi band 5. , honestly speaking, I've been using this for about slightly more than a month now, and this has been my go-to smart device that has been always on my wrist. So this is something that I really like, but let me talk more about both actually so the ls02 here on the right.
This is uh. I just got this about a week ago: uh suddenly more than a week now I would say- and I've been using it for a couple of days as well, and yes, I really like it, because it has been a really, I would say, incremental upgrade to the ls01, but regardless we still have a very nice watch right here. Very nice budget watch right here so for 50 bucks you'll be able to get the mi band 5, whereas for just 20 to 25 half the price. You can get this beautiful, smartwatch right here, okay, so uh, let's start off with the comparison uh first up, I want to talk about the build quality. So let's take a look at the benefits.
Obviously we still have this elastic bands, which is a new band compared to the mi band 4. We still have this peel kind of form factor, but overall it is very lightweight. The bands are very smooth. It feels like a proper, mid-band right here, and it feels very comfortable on my wrist so um. Moving on to the ls02, I can say the same here as well, because if you just take a look at it, everything is built very nicely.
We have very nice straps here as well. These are 20 millimeter straps that you can swap out very easily because of the latches at the back, but yeah very nicely built no complaints here whatsoever on both the mi band 5, and the ls02. So one thing, obviously that we can see here between the differences is the display, so we have a very small display on the mi band 5. Obviously this is a smart band, not a smartwatch, so you don't get like a huge display, and this is where the ls02 actually wins. I would say like a major margin, because you can just see so much more information on the watch itself, so putting it side by side, you can see that the mi band 5 obviously is super dwarfed by the ls02.
We have a very nice lcd here. This is the latest version, and it comes with a very nice display. Quality notice that the blacks here are actually very similar to that of an AMOLED display so definitely very happy to have this display on the ls02 another thing, although we have a smaller screen on the mi band 5, it is not all set, because this is still an AMOLED display, and the good news on the mi band 5 here is that it actually comes with a lot of watch phases. So I currently have this I'm not able to focus properly right here, but I currently have this wallpaper set to the Petronas twin towers, which is in Malaysia. So let me just swap it back to something more visible like this one.
Okay, so we have about like a 30 to 40 different watch faces for the mi band 5, and this is something if, for you, if you like customization, you can have different watch faders every day, whereas on the ls02, you only come with five watch faces, and you can't actually swap out these faces for a new different kind of watch face. These are all you get in the watch itself. So just five watch faces here which is kind of little uh compared to the mi band 5 over there, so yeah, honestly speaking, the watch faders are very usable. They work very well. They have a lot of useful information on the screen, but of course it would have been better if we had more watch face options so in terms of display.
Once again, it really depends on whether you would want more watch faces or if you just want a larger display. Moving on. Let me just talk a bit about the notifications here, because when you buy these devices, what you want to really see sometimes is just the notifications both for sf calls alerts. They will tell all your notifications when you have messages coming in, but just to give you an idea on how messages look like on the band itself. Let me just go into notifications right here.
Overall, we can see that the mi band 5 actually shows more of the information from your text directly on the display itself and the reason for that is because the fonts are actually smaller and although it has a smaller display right here, you can actually see more text on the display compared to the ls02. So I would say it's a pretty smart use of space on the mi band 5, whereas on the ls02 halo, just didn't really use that kind of screen real estate to show you more information on the watch itself. So in terms of notifications, I would say it's easier to access notifications on the mi band 5 itself, because you can just swipe right once, and you'll be able to access all your notifications, whereas for the halo ls02, you have to go through the menu and go and find that notice a little section right there and just look at your notifications through that many processes. So definitely not the smartest way to get your notifications on the ls02. But again it really depends on your use case, if you're the kind of person to check back your notifications.
Definitely you will want to go with the mini band 5. All right. Moving on. Let's talk a bit about the tracking capabilities on both smart devices right here, so both do not come with GPS, and they track a different set of activities. So for the mi band 5, we actually track a couple more activities here, mainly it tracks.
Your runs your cycles, your walks and it tracks your swimming as well. So if you swim, you definitely want to go and get the mi band 5, because that tracks your swims, but for the ls02 you'll just track your runs your walks and anything to do with basic movements. You will not track your swims, although it is ip68 rated alright. So, just to let you know, in terms of activity tracking wise, I didn't notice that it was more accurate on the mi band 5, even though it was using the GPS on my phone itself. It just came with much more data, and it's just so much better compared to the halo ls02.
So if you want to just track some basic movements like a walk and just a couple of runs, maybe you can go with the ls02, but if you're really serious about tracking your activities uh, you will have to go with the mi band 5. So on that note, I was going to talk a little about the app itself because you're going to use the app a lot when you use both devices. So one thing to note is that the mi fit app is actually a very well done app. We have a lot of information here, like you can see over here uh. I can just assess everything very clearly and have a glance at all these details.
Like my stress levels, uh last night's sleep, we also have my heart rate, which is going pretty fine over here. I have a lot of information here. If I just go into my activity for yesterday, I can also see my pace. A lot of information. My everything is just so detailed in the fit app, and I think this is one of the main selling points for the band itself.
The app is just awesome and the English here is perfect: there's no like grammar mistakes or whatever in the app itself, so very good, very informative, app. You get a lot of information all on the mi fit app itself. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the halo app. The halo app is really built, as if I don't know what they were thinking is like they didn't even put the effort in there uh it's just so poor. The interface has a lot of broken English, like, for example, just look at this heart rate.
For example, it says last time your you know, uh, it just comes with all this weird stuff. You know like all right so uh the record see I just it's just very basic information that you get on the app uh. You don't have very detailed. Look at a lot of information. Now, of course, I don't have my records here right now, because I kind of accidentally wiped the entire thing, but just to let you know that the app is not that good, and it doesn't come with proper English, so you're going to have to struggle a little or yeah.
It's just not that detailed compared to the fit app. So overall in terms of the app interface, I would definitely say if you're really focused on tracking your activities, you'll have to go with the mi fit app, because the halo app is just still a work in progress. I would say all right. Moving on, let's talk a bit about the tracking sensors at the back, we have the heart rate tracking. We also have your sleep tracking on both devices, I would say they're a bit more accurate on the mi band, 5, definitely for sure I've actually tested it against my blood pressure monitor, and it's more accurate on the mi band 5.
I wouldn't say it's not accurate on the ls02. It's just that. Sometimes it does have a bit of uh a bit off by a little but yeah. If you want the most accurate one, you have to go for the mi band five. Apart from that, the mi band five also tracks your stress levels, so I noticed that it was pretty accurate in terms of the stress levels, because when I was editing this video, the stress levels actually went pretty high, but yeah.
So it says something about that pretty good stuff, I would say good information that you can get on the band 5. All right. Last but not least, let's talk about the battery life, so the mi band 5. Here it only lasts about one week I would say based on my personal usage. So again I have a lot of information, a lot of notifications coming into my band uh, and it's just crazy, like ringing non-stop but yeah.
Basically, I'm about to get I'm able to get about one week of battery life here. So I also tracked my sleeps at night, and basically I set the heart tracking interval to one minute. So every minute, it's just tracking my heart rate and that's why it's probably down to just one week uh on the halo ls02. I would say that it's probably it'll, probably last me about close to two weeks, so you get slightly better battery life on the halo ls02, and one thing is that one thing for this is that the heart rate tracking interval is just five minutes every five minutes. I guess it's not too much of a big deal, but yeah.
If you want, like really precise tracking, I would say you have to go for the band. Five, all right, uh, I think that's pretty much it. This is a very long video. I don't want to waste too much of your time, but essentially what my conclusion here is: if you just want to go for a proper fitness tracking device, you want to track your heart rate. Your sleeps and your stress everything accurately, and you want to have a perfect view of all your data uh within the mi fit app.
You'll have to go with the mi band 5. Like I mean this is so comfortable on my wrist. When I put it on, I don't even feel it there like it's really nice to put on, whereas sometimes when I put on a watch like, I do feel like my hands getting a bit hot and all that sweaty and all that but yeah. So if you're looking for like a basic smartwatch, you're just new to all this smartwatch game- and you just want to see your notifications every once in a while, I would say that the halo ls02 is also a pretty decent smartwatch. I mean it's just 20 to 25, like it's so cheap that you don't really have to think too much about buying this watch right here.
So yeah. This pretty much sums it up uh. If you, it really depends on which you want to buy. So let me know if you have any questions down in the comment section below I'll, be more than happy to help you out, if you have any troubles like figuring out which one to buy and yeah. Last but not least, thank you guys for watching this video I'll, see you guys in the next one bye.
