THE NEW KING? Xiaomi Mi 11 Quick Review

That's right guys, you read the title: we have it right here. The Xiaomi me 11, but is it the new king of smartphones in 2021? Hey guys Tito jams here once again taking awesome out of the box, even though we're not doing an unboxing today? But yes, the Xiaomi mi 11 was finally launched officially here in the Philippines, but I've been using this for about a week. I do have to mention before we begin that we did receive an engineering unit from Xiaomi Philippines. So keep that in mind, while watching this video, I won't be calling it a full review, maybe a quickie, and then we'll do something more in depth once we receive a retail unit, so without further ado, let's get into it, and I'm sure a lot of you are going to be asking this question in the comment section so right out of the gates. Let's talk about the price. The official SRP of the Xiaomi mi 11 is 36 990 pesos.

Personally speaking, I think that's a perfect price point, given everything that the Xiaomi mi 11 is packing. But for those of you who aren't in the know here are its key specs. We got the latest flagship soc from the folks over at Qualcomm, the snapdragon 88, and our unit has that paired with 8 gigabytes of ram and 128 gigabytes of storage. It has a 6.81 inch, who plus AMOLED display, with a refresh rate of 120 hertz, triple rear cameras with a 108 megapixel main shooter and a 4 600 William hour battery that supports 55 watt charging with that info alone. The 11 already sounds like a super sweet deal, if I do say so myself, but let me show you guys my experiences with this device and why I think it's a legit contender for king of smartphones in 2021 first you've got the excellent, build quality of this device.

That hits all the right notes when it comes to a flagship device. You've got an aluminum frame: that's sandwiched by gorilla glass, 5 on the back and gorilla glass Vitus to protect the display. So it really looks like they didn't skimp out on the materials for the 11. It also feels fantastic in hand because of that matte finish now, it's not quite the same experience as the other flagships that we've gotten our hands on recently, but you still get the same, elegant, look and close the same texture by the way. This is the midnight gray color variant now.

As of recording this video, I'm not sure, if they're bringing in the rest of the colors, but I really like the white one for a quick tour of the button and port layout. You have the power button and the volume rocker on the right side on the bottom. You have access to the sim tray, an USB c port mic and a speaker and up on top. Furthermore, you have the good old IR blaster, another mic and another speaker plus some text to let you know that they partnered with Harman Kardon for this device. As I mentioned earlier, the 11 comes equipped with a 6.81 inch AMOLED display at we HD plus resolution, with a refresh rate of 120 hertz, which you can turn down to 60. If you want to save on battery life and of course, as you guys know, amulet displays are so good for consuming content, and I'm super happy with the one on the me11.

It's a good size and I enjoyed all the YouTube videos I watched on it so far now to be completely transparent. You guys our unit wasn't compatible with Netflix again it's an engineering unit. So that might be the reason, but just in case all it will take, is a software update, so no worries anyway, as you saw earlier, Xiaomi partnered up with Harman Kardon for the 11 and to quote their website it's to enhance the acoustics of the dual speakers, providing exquisite and crisp high-end sound quality. Now I don't know if that's going to translate when you hear it through our microphones, but here's a quick sample to be fair. They sound pretty good.

There is an emphasis on the highs which Leia also noticed, and we do recommend keeping the volume at around 70 to 80 percent. That's the sweet spot. Now, if you want to use your headphones, this doesn't have a headphone jack, but it should ship with an USB to 3.5 millimeter adapter. So there you go now. Let's move on to the performance and how long the battery lasted.

So it should come to no surprise that the 11 is a hell of a beast when it comes to overall performance, I mean you do have the latest snapdragon flagship soc on board, with a good amount of ram and enough storage, at least for me, so daily tasks weren't a problem at all, and you can multitask all you want, because this phone can definitely handle it. Of course, when it comes to games it pretty much costed through all the titles I usually play with the settings maxed out, NBA 2k20 was incredibly smooth. League of Legends was no problem at all and, as you can see, Call of Duty runs really well too. As you all know, I don't play games in impact, but I'm pretty sure the Qualcomm snapdragon triple eight will make short work of that game. But a lot of you were asking if the 11 had any heating issues based on my experience.

Yes, it does run a little hot again. I don't know if this is because we have an engineering unit, but even after playing a quarter of NBA 2k20, it did start to feel a bit warm now to simulate longer gaming sessions. I ran the 3dmark wildlife stress test and on the fourth loop, you could already feel the phone get really hot, and it got pretty uncomfortable to hold as well just to drive this point home. Once again, we have an engineering unit with us, I'm not sure if it's going to be the same experience on a retail one, so we'll check back once we get our hands on that device. As for battery life, it lasted me a day and a half, even when Leia- and I took this out to take sample photos for you guys, which we will be showing you in a bit.

Our YouTube group test had it clocked in at 12 hours and 33 minutes. That's with the display settings maxed out at half brightness and 50 volume, so pretty good on all accounts in terms of charging. Again, this supports 55 watts. So it only took me about 50 minutes to get it from zero to a hundred last, but not the least. Let's talk about the cameras, so you have a triple camera set up with a 108 megapixel main camera, a 13 megapixel ultra-wide and a 5 mp macro.

I really wish that they'd put a telephoto instead of that macro, but it is what it is anyway for taking selfies, you have a 20, megapixel front camera. That's tucked away in the punch hole on the upper left-hand corner of the screen in terms of the images that these cameras produce, I'm generally happy with the output. It's a bit more contrast than I would like, if I'm being honest, but the details are there and the dynamic range is pretty good. You'll see the usual post-processing that we typically get from Xiaomi, but I don't think it goes overboard. Plus the white balance is still pretty good.

When you compare the shots from the ultrawide to the main camera. Now you can zoom up to 30 times on the mi 11, but it's digital and well, as you can see, it's not really the best output for photos taken at night or in low light. I think they look pretty good. Details are a tad soft, but not too bad. It's still worthy of gracing.

Your Facebook feeds for selfies, I'm pretty happy with the photos I was able to get. I tried them out in extreme conditions like being extremely backlit, which you should avoid at all costs and just having a bit of light in home studio. All shots turned out decent. All things considered, of course, but, as is the case with most selfie cameras, the more light you have, the better the results will be now. One thing I've been hearing about the Xiaomi mi 11 is its video shooting capabilities.

Now it can shoot video up to 8k, but most of the interesting features are at 1080p.30Fps video stabilization was perfect and there's a promo that I think is used when you're running around sad to say. I can't test that out, because I have a bad knee, but it looks like you are using a gimbals. You have features like dual video that we've seen in other smartphones before, but the front cam footage looks a bit shaky and for those of you who are wondering what the output from the front camera is like. Here's a quick sample all right. So here it is here being the front-facing camera of the Xiaomi mi 11.

Just in case you guys are thinking about getting this phone and getting into some content creation. At least you know what it looks like and what it sounds like now back to the rest of the video, like I said, Xiaomi is laying it on thick with their movie magic slogan for this smartphone, and it's for a very good reason. Unfortunately, some creative shooting modes weren't running as intended on our unit, but I can see how they could spice things up a bit now. One thing I was able to try was clone video and I had a lot of fun with this feature, but just as a quick note, it's a bit hard to shoot on your own, since you do have to use the rear camera, so maybe use a mirror to help you out or ask for the help of your loving wife and just like we've seen from past Xiaomi smartphones, you do have vlog templates with pre-selected music, again just a quick way to shoot something more creative straight from your device. It's a shame that some movie effects on this smartphone weren't working as intended with our unit, so we'll have to do a part two.

Once we get our hands on a retail unit sooner rather than later. I hope all right. So it's at this point of our videos that I usually try to answer the question. Should you buy the Xiaomi me 11? And I can't give you guys a verdict, given our current situation with our device, it just wouldn't be fair, but Xiaomi's formula of giving us the best, specs and features to go along with some crazy price to performance ratio is tried and tested for a reason. So I won't be surprised if some or a lot of you end up buying this phone now that it's officially available here in the Philippines.

Again, the price tag for the Xiaomi me 11 is 36. Pesos they've also been teasing, awesome, pre-order goodies. Unfortunately, as of recording this video, I don't have all the details, I'll link them down below as soon as I do, and there you have it folks, that's pretty much it for this quick review of the Xiaomi me11. Thank you so much for dropping by and spending a few minutes with me if you like this video, give us a thumbs up sub to the channel and make sure you hit that notification bell. If you have any questions, leave them down below, and I'll try my best to get to them as soon as I can for all the latest in tech head to unbox.
