There are a lot of affordable phones starting to come out in the next month or so, and one of them in particular is very interesting because it comes from a company that you definitely recognize and TCL is likely bringing a lot of their other tech experience to the smartphone game. Hey it's Joshua Ricardo! What's going on everybody, let's go ahead and unbox the TCL 10 Pro I do have the 10 L, but we're doing the tempura mostly today, and I'll, give you some hot takes on the phone after I set it up. Looking around the box real quick. Let's take a look at some of the details that this phone is trying to bring us six point almost 6.5-inch full HD plus panel. It is an AMOLED screen which is great to see. HD are 10 compliant.
Has a 64 megapixel camera on the back, which is nice to see for a phone. That's around 450 dollars, especially these specs right here, 128 gigabytes of on-board storage and 6 gigabytes of RAM 6 gigabytes of RAM is becoming more and more than norm and mostly in the flagship space, but for mid-range devices. It is really nice to see anything above 4 because 4 is honestly pushing it same thing goes for the battery. We have a 4000 500 William hour battery in here. That's always nice to see I, wonder I, don't remember what the charging speed was on this, but I.
Imagine it's going to be enough, hopefully, to get that thing topped up pretty easily, as you can see, we need no knives here, void, void, void and a void void void. Well, it's mine. Now the unboxing experience starting off with, of course, the top cover, but the adhesive of those tapes is making this difficult. Alright, that should be there. We go display, greatness I mean TCL is well known for all the TVs that they helped make and all of their products.
As far as that category is concerned, and now it's time to bring some of that display greatness as they say to a smartphone alright. So this is a design that I feel like we've become pretty accustomed to. As far as flagships are concerned, I mean there's an AMOLED screen. That's always going to be a nice detail, but it's also a curved one. So, even more of that full screen display experience on here on a phone that, like is tab more than half the price of many other flagships.
Then of course the whole punch up to there. That's where the camera lies and then yeah just kind of looking around the in general. We do still get a headphone jack up here, which is really great to see moving around to the back here- and this is a nice looking, phone I already got a couple of my smudges on there, but that's okay. This is not a glossy back, it is matted, but it's still kind of slippery, so the grip will probably be good, especially considering the profile here, but yeah overall I do like the way this looks. You also have the visor up here, which is what I'll probably end up, calling it throughout my coverage for different cameras here with a dual flash flanking this entire unit, but it's flat.
That's one of the best parts about this is that the entire thing is flat. I can feel just a tiny bit of give as far as the flash units are concerned, but it's super negligible, and it's probably just enough to lift the phone so that these cameras are not what is rubbing on the table all the time. Let's see what else we get, what does this more affordable price point? Get you in the rest of the box. Oh now, this is nice, I, always love. When this happens.
There is a case in the box. Just a nice clear case. Oh, and it says, look at that is this display greatness, that's pretty cool, so loving the branding so far, TCO is doing a good job as far as that is concerned, but yeah, it's always great, to see a little case here, because no, you don't really want to have to spend extra in order to get a little of protection for your phone and also this really helps with grip. So that's something I'm always into, and then the last bits in the box are just the charging brake and charging cable. The cable is and a 2, C, cable, and then it looks like this is going to be one of your more standard charging bricks, but I will get into the details about the battery and, of course, the charge of speed in my full review.
I feel like this shouldn't have to be a very premium feature. I mean this is like a $450 phone, and it comes with a case in the box, normally with any other phone, especially ones that might be super expensive, like you, don't even get anything close to them. Alright, so let's go ahead and power. This thing up, TTL logo obviously powered by Android, and then this is going to be an unlocked one. So I'll probably end up using this on my Google Phi Network, but we're going to get into the setup, and I'll give you a few extra thoughts about how I feel about it just after the unboxing.
Alright. So let's just go ahead and jump into it. First thing I want to mention is just that the phone is pretty spelled. Has a perfect luck, even if some pretty radical colors had been nice to see here, but that's mostly okay in this case, because I still love that there is a star is a slim plastic case in the box. So in the initial setup, usually when you have all the apps downloading in the background, or you're doing a ton of updates, usually the performance takes a pretty big dip and, while I did perceive that during the initial setup of this phone once that was all done, I actually thought that the phone was already pretty smooth.
The reason why I have to mention that immediately is because you might look at the spec sheet and see the snapdragon 675 and wonder if this is going to be a really snappy device. Now, of course, my testing will only prove whether that is the case, but I will say it feels pretty nice. So far, it's probably no surprise that it says display greatness on the case, because TCL is trying to bring some of their TV expertise over to the smartphone display, and I'm having a good time already. This is an AMOLED display at full, HD plus resolution. It's almost 6.5 inches and the display is already showing some really nice colors and contrast. It even affords the phone, the ability to have an always-on display, but if you don't want to have an always-on display, ambient display is an option as well, and the always on display actually looks pretty cool again.
The branding on this phone is fascinating because T Sees got this like this thing going on with all of their branding, and I'm totally here for it. Now, the display is not just a good-looking AMOLED display, they're, also some enhancements on here that TCL put in called next vision or NOT vision. Basically, it is an enhancement on here much akin to an HDR enhancement where, once you turn it on when you're playing videos or games, it will do some stuff to the contrast into the saturation and overall, give you a more pleasing image, and one cool thing about that feature is that I can set it to what is called this smart key, which is over on the side. Now. The smart key is right here on the left, mirroring the position of the power button, which is actually very pertinent, because I did a couple of fun things with it already.
The first thing is I said the single tap to be the toggle for the next vision enhancements that way, I can see the differences easily when I'm, watching YouTube or Netflix or anything else, but the other things you can do are a double tap and a hold to Google assistant made the most sense and then a double tap into the video portion of the camera was definitely the one I wanted, especially since the cameras are so interesting on this phone being able to get to it easily into certain functions of it might be really fun. After all, I'm the kind of person that likes flogging with a smartphone and being able to double tap the smart key in order to get to the video mode on the camera app man, that's just really cool. It's just one of those little things that I'm already enjoying and qualifies as a good hot, take, oh and by the way earlier, when I was unboxing, the phone and I looked at the charging. Brick I was hoping for some sort of like high wattage charging or something like that. But instead we got something that is still pretty good, which is Qualcomm, quick charge 3.0, which is a term that I feel like I, haven't used on a smartphone review or when I'm unboxing the smartphone in a while. A quick charge is still perfectly fine.
It's still a good charging, a good charging method, and it should get this to 50% in about half an hour, so still got some good fast charging on here and then. Finally, we have the cameras and the spec sheet shows that these cameras are definitely fascinating. You get four of them on the back for lenses, all of them flush with the body, except for the little of give that's on the flash diodes. You have a 64 megapixel main sensor. Furthermore, you have an ultra-wide, a 5, megapixel depth, camera and then the most interesting lens is this super low light video lens.
It is a dedicated lens for video that has pixels that are 2.9 microns large, that super low light. Video lenses fascinating. Unfortunately, while we're not really able to go out a lot, I can imagine that an affordable phone like this that allows people to capture memories when out and about in the evenings and whatnot. That's going to be something that, if done right, a lot of people are going to clamor for, but it's already obvious that you can do a ton of stuff with this phone and obviously the front-facing camera is not being left behind. It is a 24 megapixel front facing shooter that should provide some pretty good detail, and we'll see what other modes are available there, and with that that is just my unboxing of the TCL 10 Pro.
This is a very exciting device. Obviously the TCL 10 l is also here, and I will make sure to talk about that in some content moving forward. What I want to know from all of you is what you want to see out of this phone. What are some questions that you have? What are some things that you want me to test about this? How about a couple of games that you want me to try playing? Let me know all of that in the comment sections down below and then also, let me know if you are excited about this phone. After all, it is on its way.
It is more affordable than most flagships, but the spec sheet is so interesting. Well, with all of that said, I'm going to go ahead and call it on this one. Thank you so much for watching drop some likes on this video and subscribe to my channel. If you haven't already, if you're new here, thanks for sticking around and yeah until my next video I would just remind you to enjoy your tea, everybody.
