Ah, so I didn't really know which way I wanted to go about making this video I didn't know if I wanted to be a rant style. I didn't know if I wanted to sit down and politely talk to you guys about why I returned my Galaxy Note 20 ultra, but I was like you know what I'm just going to cut this camera on. I got my list of topics, I'm not even gonna. Look at the list of topics. Man, I'm just going to go straight off the top of the head. If it turns into a rant, if it turns into polite, it is what it is, but let's go ahead and talk about the title about why I return my Galaxy Note.20 ultra, I think it's set to be delivered back to Samsung, like on Friday, yo. What's going on YouTube, what's your boy technicality here, you all with another video today and just like the title said yes, I did return.
My Samsung Galaxy note.20 show now let me go ahead and give you some disclaimers out there, because I know the haters and the keyboard warriors are on day. Where you packing your lunch right now, you put your little hack sack on, and you come into the video. So I already know, but let me go ahead and tell you real quick. I am not an android hater, I'm not a Samsung hater I've owned every single Samsung Galaxy s device. I own every single note device, that's always the device I use when we're talking about notes alongside my iPhone, but just recently I've been having a little of issues now I know you're probably going to say: oh, you always make these selling videos and blas? blah.
Furthermore, I've only made two of them, basically for the s20 ultra and everybody. If you follow me, you know why I saw that device. The camera was butt and then for two. This is my note, 20 ultra, and we're going to get into why I'm selling it now so Samsung knight should take a seat right here, just like that that homer meme go ahead and take a seat right beside me. Man.
Let me go ahead and school you on a few things, because I feel, like a lot of you- are so oblivious to the Samsung brand that you don't want to hear anything that's going on, but sometimes you need a little of real talk in your life. This is a 1400 device. Now, yes, it's 1400. I pay full price. I pay taxes.
No, I didn't do any trade-ins to get this device any cheaper. So yes in my pocket, 1400 bucks I'll pop a receipt up somewhere. So you make sure I'm not really telling you all a lot, but when you're talking about 1400, I need this phone to last me throughout my day now I'm not saying I need to phone the last two days or anything like that, but I at least should get better than five hours of screen on time and that's what I've been getting with my note now I know a lot of people out. There have been getting 10 11 12 hours of screen on time and that's amazing. I wish I could get that battery life.
To be honest with you. If I was, I would probably be keeping this device. Everybody is also saying: oh, it's still learning your usage patterns. No, it's not I've had it over a week now, and it's not learning my uses pattern anymore. It's not! It knows what I'm doing right now.
I've actually tried to factory reset it, and it didn't do anything. It did. The same thing yields me the same sorry, battery life. Everybody also was telling me to go in there and turn the 5g off, but ATT does not give you the option to turn the 5g off. But then again everybody is saying, go in these special menus and do all of that look once you start doing that I am crippling that device, I'm giving the device a crutch to lean on.
I don't like crippling devices. I don't like turning a bunch of features off of phones, that's 1400 bucks that should work just like an out of the box. Furthermore, I shouldn't have to go. Do this, I shouldn't have to do that. Oh, you can't run at 120 hertz, it's going to be too hard on your precious battery, no 1400.
Why do I still have to run the phone at 60 hertz? Why you put 120 in there, and you got it adaptive or whatever it may be, but you're telling me just because it's a little too hard on your battery. I can't run 120hz and get the best performance when we're talking about screen on time. That just doesn't add up to me on a 1400 device, so yeah the battery wasn't good in my opinion. Once again, I know other people are having different results, but my battery life was lasting just as long as my Pixel 4a and that's a 350 device. Now I'm not comparing them two together, but at the same time you see why I'm a little upset when we're talking about that battery performance and no I'm not disabling the entire phone or half of the phone's feature just to yield good battery life.
I shouldn't have to do that on the phone. That's 1400 bucks, so battery life was but in my opinion and let's go ahead and talk about the cameras up next now the cameras. This is two things that we're going to talk about. Man, slow shutter, speed, and we're talking about overall image processing when it comes to cameras. Now, if you didn't see my video talking about the things that I disliked about the note, I will be sure to link that above and below, but when we're talking about slow shutter now, if you're not sure what shutter is its the little? It's the delay time when you hit the actual shutter button to take the picture, how long it takes to actually take the picture.
Now when you compare that to 11 pro max or a pixel device, those are instant. You press that shutter button boom. You get a picture, you push that note, and it lags for a second, and then it takes the picture now to a lot of people. That's not going to be a dealbreaker because you're out there taking pictures of of of fire hydrants and trees and different stuff, that's not moving, but me, I'm in the real world, I'm taking a picture of my son. That's continuously moving around and doing all types of stuff.
I don't need a phone to lag behind because you're going to miss the shot. Now, if you know me if you follow my channel, that's the reason I sold the s20 ultra because it is the autofocus just was not it. It was all over place. It couldn't catch my son doing those unforgettable moments that I'm experiencing, and they can't catch that moment. The same thing with the note with that slow shutter lag, and this has been an issue with Samsung devices for a very well for a very long time.
Somebody brought that back to my attention- and I was like you know what I have seen it in other devices, but I feel like it wasn't this bad. Now everybody was going to say well turn off the motion turn off the auto HDR. Once again, I'm giving the device a crutch to actually fix something that it should be fine off the gate that all goes back to optimization, and we're going to get into that on the last rant. That's the last thing we're going to get into that optimization, but let's go ahead and continue talking about the subpar camera number, two, let's go ahead and talk about image processing. I know a lot of people are definitely gonna.
Give me a lot of flack for this, but I don't care it's my opinion, I'm pretty sure somebody that feels the same way. I was talking to a few people on the internet, and they felt the same way as well. Image. Processing when it comes to Samsung devices has always been bad. That's why, in my opinion, Samsung cameras are not up to par with iPhone or pixels.
I don't get where everybody says that I'm like why, because you're going out there taking pictures of grassy lake meadows like no we're talking about real world usage to me, I cannot get a clean photo when shooting indoors. They all just seem crazy, noisy when it comes to being selfies. They just add too much makeup and just stuff on your face and when you take a picture in the sunlight, I feel like the highlights are overblown. Furthermore, they just do not do a good job when it comes to image processing, but Samsung gets a focus on that. Samsung is focused, giving us a 208 time, zoom 108, megapixel camera.
That's that's! What's wrong with Samsung you're worried about pushing specs, but you need to get back to the fundamentals of actually making something, that's actually usable. So the image process, in my opinion, is absolute. I just don't like it when it comes to Samsung devices, some people out there. Yes, you can get a good picture and different things like that. But for me, it is lacking, and it's lacking behind iPhone, and it's lacking behind pixel and I feel like it's not a virtual level.
When we're talking about videos, the video looks a little decent, but once again it doesn't have the best video we all know iPhone does have the best video. Now I know a lot of people say: well, your Ishim. No! I love android just as much love iOS and I wish the gap will close a little when we're talking about the usability and the performance of both. So that's my issues with the camera, man, slow, shutter and the image processing Samsung, and this is going to come. This is going to tie everything together right here.
You need to work on your fundamentals. Now, I'm pretty sure somebody at Samsung won't even watch this but, like I said the Samsung nice to make sure the video gets where it has to be work on your fundamentals, stop trying to give us all the crazy specs and work on the basics. That's why iPhone has it together? That's why pixel has it together, because they don't give you all those thrills everything that they do is perfected, and they know exactly what they're doing to yield the best results. Yes, iPhone is always behind in technology, because why, when they do it, it's done right, Samsung likes to jump out there and and and be a risk-taker when it comes to technology and that's amazing, I love how Samsung takes the initiative and gives us something new like the foldable and different things like that, but that comes at a cost of having premature performance and premature issue. That's that comes along with that, and I feel like Samsung should just stop trying to give us all the major specs and go back and focus on the fundamentals.
Like I love Samsung devices, I love what they bring to the table. I love the features, but take some of those features away. We don't need all of those features. We don't need air s, pen gestures, we don't need when I hover my hand over the phone it mutes. I don't think we need all of that man.
Half of you all, don't even know where those settings are. I bet half of them aren't even turned on so Samsung just get back to the basics. Once again, I know I'm pretty sure I'm go I'm going to catch tons of flak for this video, but I'm honestly, I don't care the real ones, know exactly what I'm talking about the Samsung people. I feel like you. Don't you've never used another device, so you really can't compare if you've never used an iPhone if you've never used a pixel or if you've never used the OnePlus device whatever it may be? You can't compare, but somebody who's used tons of devices somebody who uses mostly iOS and android devices.
I can always tell and that's the reason I have a big issue when it comes to Samsung devices now going forward. I'm really going to think about my purchase decisions when it comes to Samsung, because I feel like I'm truly not getting my money's worth when it comes to those devices. You lose too much money on the resale market. It's just sometimes I feel like it's not worth it now. I am a little interested in that galaxy zoo, but I'm also once again scared that it's going to be played with the same exact issue that every Samsung devices has I'm not going to be blinded, just because it folds and everybody's wow, when oh, it folds, but at the same time it's the same Samsung device under that folding hinge.
Yeah man, that's what it is note.20 ultra is gone because of poor battery life because of cameras just always not being up to par and because me having to disable so many features just to get the phone to perform as it should out the box. I want to run 120 hertz on my device. I can without sacrificing anything if I want to run 120 hertz with full res. Furthermore, I could, if the option was there, you got people like OnePlus with the OnePlus 8 pro 120 hertz full resolution, and yet they still have six to seven hours of screen on time. Optimization people, that's what it's about.
It's not about specs, it's about how well your OS is optimized to handle, whatever features that you put into your device, Samsung and 2020 still does not have that down. Pack still got some learning to do, but to take it to you, I'm about to get up out of here. Let me know down below in the comment section what you think positive or negative. I couldn't care less. I'm going to respond to everybody.
If you say something negative, that's fine! I'm going to respond to you as well, but let me know down there. Let me know if you're having no issues with your note. Let me know if you're having issues with your note and let me know what you think, if you're thinking about potentially picking up a note now I don't hate Samsung. This isn't to call Samsung out. This is just me giving my raw opinions, because I'm always going to keep it above with you all, no matter what I'm not an apple shield, or anything like that.
I'm someone out there like I said that when it went out there and dropped 1400 on this device and 1400, I should be a little more satisfied anyway, till you can see I'm about to get up out of here. Man you all make sure you all do all the YouTube things hit that, like comment down below hit that sub button turn the bell on for some more of these real videos, man, but until next time later,.
