Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite vs Galaxy Tab S6 - Which One is Best For You? By Ivan Kam

Okay, so here's the one that quite a few have been waiting for. It is, of course, the comparison of the Samsung Galaxy tab, s6 lite versus the Samsung Galaxy tab, s6, so the regular tab s6, let's jump into it, as always, if you're looking for more in-depth details, make sure to check out my full reviews on both tablets right. So I actually made reviews on these two, along with many other tablets, so make sure to check those out all right. Let's go ahead and talk about the design. Both tablets are actually fairly similar in many ways: they're sharing a same uniform front bezel, as you can see here. The tab s6, which is a flagship tablet, looks and feel very premium, like I've said before it's actually pretty solid, it's fairly dense, and it's also a very well-balanced device.

All unibody metallic back here with the camera module containing a 5 megapixel ultra-wide and a 13 megapixel wide angle lens, and that camera there can shoot 4k at 30 frames per second, then you have an 8 megapixel selfie camera at the front here that can shoot 1080p at 30 frames per second. The tab s6 light here, on the other hand, is the lighter version of the tab s6. Well, that's the name right. It's a tiny bit thicker with a design that also does look and give the vibes of a premium blend. It's just as solid and just as well-balanced as the Galaxy Tab s6.

You also get this metallic unibody on the back here: single 8 megapixel camera at the top. There that's the main camera and the 5 megapixel selfie camera on the front of the tablet there, both the front and the back are capable of shooting 1080p at 30 frames per second now, in my opinion, both tablets actually do produce some pretty nice pictures and, of course I need to specify that for tablets right there, pretty nice pictures for tablets, but the bottom line is that the Galaxy Tab s6 is going to produce better images slightly sharper. Overall, you know when it comes to camera, it's definitely better than the galaxy type s6 now for people. I know lots of people always ask how well these things do with Zoom call or conference call and things like that they work pretty well this front cam. Those selfie cameras actually work pretty well, oh by the way, if you like the content so far, and you're new to the channel, welcome of course.

I truly appreciate that that's one of the best ways for you to make a positive impact on this channel, and I truly appreciate that, so before we talk about the special features on each of these tablets, let's go ahead and cover specs first, and this is where some main compromises were made in order to build that Galaxy Tab s6 light now. The tab s6 is a productivity machine boasting a very powerful snapdragon 855 chipsets, which, at the time of release, was actually the best on the market. Now the processor is still pretty powerful, even in today's standard right. So it's a very nice chipset.

It's also coupled with six gigs of ram, which actually allows for a very good user experience when it comes down to doing multiple things on this tablet, toggling between apps or websites and pages or tabs back and forth. All of that good stuff is very seamless and the base internal storage on this particular unit is 128 gigs and is upgradable to up to one terabyte using a micro SD card. And again, I want to emphasize the fact that this tablet is a productivity tablet which was made and came out the factory as a productivity tablet right. So that's where you will see the main difference between this and the compromise that was made to build this guy right. So it's really a very good tab.

When it comes to performance, no, no crashes, no stuttering! No, you know slow down. None of that good stuff, it's a very, very nice and powerful tablet, so, whether you're using it in DEX mode or mini, desktop mode. It's still a very good performer. I have not encountered any issues. By the same token, switching to the Galaxy Tab, s6 lite here you won't be able to have that same level of high productivity I just mentioned.

However, it does have good performance for light to moderate level tasks. You can definitely multitask be able to open multiple windows split screens and do all of that good stuff. As long as you keep it, you know light to moderate level right. You can do all of that and still enjoy your tablet once you start pushing it too far and opening way too many heavy games, many videos and all that stuff you will start encountering crashes or slow-downs or stutters, or you know, lags, and that is simply because we are dealing with an Enos processor on this tablet here, and it has four gigs of ram, which at four gigs of ram, is still plenty for some stuff. But then again, as I mentioned as long as you keep it light to moderate work, you will be fine.

The base version of this tablet has 64 gigs of internal storage. That is also upgradable to up to one terabyte just like it is the case with the tab s6 so for performance. The Galaxy Tab s6 is with no doubt the winner here, which would explain why it cost almost double the price of this one. When it came out right, I believe this was 650 and this was 340 or 349. I don't remember, but it was almost double the price.

Now, let's go ahead and talk display, that's another place where you have a major difference. I believe this is a HDR, 10 plus capable device pushing a super AMOLED display on the screen, standing at 10.5 inches with a resolution of 1600 by 2560, and I should add that it's very, very pixel dense. It has great viewing angles its great for reading, it's excellent for entertainment, so things like watching movies or playing games. Actually, gaming is fantastic on here. You can play pretty much all the games right without any issues, as opposed to the Galaxy Tab s6 like so.

The experience here is really, really nice. As far as movies go, you know, picture quality is very sharp. Very nice level of saturation and HDR very, very nice display the tab. S6, on the other hand, has a 10.4-inch TFT display with 2000 by 1200, for the resolution now, even though it's still a good screen. Clearly it's nowhere comparable to the AMOLED display it is bright.

Also and the colors are pretty well pronounced. Plus the thing is fully laminated, so you also can really enjoy entertainment on this display, despite the fact that the tab s6 has a better display with better specs Samsung does advertise 15 hours battery life for the Galaxy Tab is 6 and 13 hours for the Galaxy Tab. S6 lite, you are probably going to hit that if you keep let's say the display low, and you know, depending on the type of apps that you use, you are most likely going to hit that it's been great. You know whether it's the tab, s6 lite battery has come pre. I've come pretty close to that 13 hours and whether it's the tablet six I've come pretty close to that 15 hours.

Again, as I mentioned in my review, video of the tab. Six at the end of the day, I end up with about 20 to 25 battery life on here, whereas the tab six light. I ended it with about 15 battery life. Now it's all going to depend on the type of usage on your type of usage right. So don't let me tell you how long it's going to last with your usage.

This is just kind of tell you what I've experienced using it for light to moderate work. Each of these tablets has an s pen, and they do share some differences, starting already with the design here. The tab, s6 s pen, has some flatter sides with the button on the side here versus the s6 light s pen, which is rounded with just one flat side and the button there, it's actually physically closer to kind of real life pen or pencil. The tab, s6 pen is kind of a modern one, so one of the more modern Samsung s pen. So it does come loaded with a ton of the features that Samsung just recently implemented, including the motion gesture where you can actually control apps or certain apps or certain parts of the apps.

Certain parts of the tablet also just using kind of a Bluetooth connection to your tablet and be able to use it as a remote control. You can use it whether it's charged or not, but in order to access those Bluetooth, remote control options, you would need to charge the pen. Another thing to add here is that the Galaxy Tab s6 does come with that s, pen, along with some extra nibs or tips for you to be able to replace- and that's a really nice touch, because quite a few people, depending on the type of pen that they buy, try to find replacement tips. The tab, s6 lite s pen, does offer you pretty much the core functionality. You would expect from a Samsung s pen or from a good tablet, stylus right so anywhere from writing to drawing to some extra features like turning your writings into text.

You know the smart select tool which allows for cropping or copying and pasting images, and you could also use it in like split screen just like it is the case with the tab s6, but you don't get any of the extra or the bells and whistles that come with the tab. S6's s, pen, what you do get here is great feedback and nice pressure sensitivity levels with both, but there is a little more latency with the Galaxy Tab, s6 lights pen now there are quite a few other things that are different between these two tablets. So I wanted to go ahead and just highlight a few more just a few more of my favorite before I go ahead and give you my take right. So one of the main things that I really like about the Galaxy Tab s6 is the DEX support I've. I know I've been singing that pretty much every tablet, video that I've made here, but that DEX support is just crucial and the Galaxy Tab.

S6 lite does not support decks. The tab s6 has these quad speakers set up, whereas the tab, s6 lite, has dual speaker setup. Both are tuned by AKG. The tab s6 is going to sound louder than the tab, s6 light, but they're both pretty crisp. The tablet 6 light does have a headphone jack, but the tab s6 does not.

Also, the s6 light can be unlocked using a pin or facial recognition. The tab s6, on the other hand, can be unlocked using those same features in addition to the in display sensor. It also does have pins here to connect to kind of official Samsung keyboard, but the reality is that we are comparing flagship versus mid-range tablets, so differences and compromises are kind of expected, so you're always going to see major differences or major compromises made to build this guy here, and that difference is also going to be reflected in the price right. So it's going to be a significant difference going from the Galaxy Tab, s6, which is pretty much twice the price of the galaxy type of s6 light. So those are some of the things that you need to consider now with that being said, which one should you buy? Well, the reality is that, as always, the answer is truly going to depend.

It's going to depend on your needs and your budget and all that good stuff right. So you need to figure out what you want. You know what you're looking for a tablet for, so you can determine which one is going to be good for you in terms of specs and price and all that good stuff. Now, if you just straight up going for a flagship level tablet and high productivity tablet- and you don't want to spend- let's say the 650 or 700 or 800 dollars for currently the tab- s7, I believe in the tab- seven plus, then you can go ahead and grab the tab s6. It should be able to handle all your tasks without any.

But if you are looking for something on the budget side, and you're looking for a tablet to perform, you know just regular tasks like navigating the internet. Do Zoom calls take down notes like to moderate productivity playing some games watching movies. You know even reading. Why not right, so the viewing angles are not as good as the ones on the tab s6 here, but still, if you're looking for something kind of there, you know in the mid-range level the tab s6 light would definitely be a nice pickup for you, but anyways. That was just my take.
