Oppo Watch Review [Pros and Cons] By Unbox PH

Hey, what is going on guys, Charlotte Tolentino here and welcome back to the channel where we take awesome out of the box. Now today we're going to be talking about OPPO's, debut smartwatch, the Oppo watch 41?mm, while android brands have been dropping smart, watches, left and right to go up against the Apple Watch. Only a few of them make use of Google's Wear OS platform. OPPO is one of those brands that stand by it and their debut smartwatch offering tries to refine most of the kinks associated with Wear OS right off the bat. We got some pros like the modern and minimalistic design. Much like the Apple Watch.

We also got the dual boot system which caters to users different needs. Now for the cons, we got the battery life on Wear OS mode, which honestly could have been better, and we also got the Wear OS itself, which still needs a little of catching up to do compared to its competitors like watch OS. It's kind of obvious that the Oppo watch 41?mm looks very, very similar to the Apple Watch, and it's not necessarily a bad thing. You get a square 1.6 inch AMOLED display with the curved gorilla glass protecting it. The display's resolution is 320 by 360, giving it a 326 pixel per inch count that makes it one of the sharpest displays on a smartwatch.

The Oppo watch 41?mm still looks unique with its two-button layout, as opposed to apple's rotating crown. The upper button lets you access, Wear OS apps installed on the watch. While the lower button is programmable and multifunctional a long press on the lower button lets, you turn off, restart or switch to power saver mode. The left side of the Oppo watch 41?mm contains a loudspeaker and a microphone, both of which are used for Google Assistant and answering calls if the watch is synced to your phone. The loudspeaker is also utilized to guide you with Apple Watch's, built-in 5-minute exercise routines as a premium smartwatch, the Apple Watch 41?mm, makes use of glossy 6000 series aluminum, giving it a good amount of help.

The backplate houses, the Oppo watcher's array of sensors and Pogo pins for charging. There are also two buttons to be found here which detach the strap in case you plan on changing the different straps. The Oppo watch is waterproof for up to 50 meters, so it's definitely perfect for your swimming workouts, just like with its smartphones, Oppo makes use of color OS elements that are evident with the icon styles in the app drawer layout. When you press the upper button, just like any Wear OS device, it comes with play, store for installing additional apps and watch faces because of the niche nature of Wear OS. The apps that are available are kind of limited at the moment.

As for the default apps, I found the five-minute exercises and breathing apps pretty cool. The former gives you five different exercise routines depending on your needs, they're quick, easy, and you can do them anywhere now, if you want to conserve battery life, the Oppo watch, 41?mm's power. Saver mode gives you the basics time date, step counter heart rate monitor, and you can receive notifications, it's not as fancy as what Wear OS has to offer, but it should fit the needs for most users, as we mentioned in an earlier article. The global version of the Opel watch 41?mm uses a better snapdragon where 3100 processors, as opposed to the snapdragon wire 2500 on the Chinese version other than that you get 1, gig ram, 8, gig internal storage and a 300 William hour battery for power saver mode. The Oppo watch uses an apollo 3 co-processor for connectivity.

You have Bluetooth, 4.2, Wi-Fi and NFC. Wear OS is notorious for bad ram management and equally bad battery life, and the same applies for the Opel watch 41?mm. While one gig ram is more than what most smartwatches have to offer. The Oppo watch 41?mm has difficulties in loading some apps. There were some cases where Spotify would fail to load album artwork until you restart the watch and the web browser would freeze when trying to access some sites.

The Oppo watch currently uses version 2.19 of Wear OS, and we expect google to release a more optimized version in the near future. It's the same story when it comes to battery life, while Oppo claims to have 24 hours of battery life on the Oppo watch 41?mm, I was only able to use it for around maybe 16 hours, which makes Wear OS still impractical to use when you're going out for long-haul travels. The battery and display size may play a factor here, but I do think google can still improve on this through refining, Wear OS and future iterations to remedy the terrible battery life. The Oppo watch 41?mm has a power saver mode that utilizes the apollo 3 co-processor. This mode stretches the battery life to as much as 14 days, but limits you to basics like time keeping step counter heart rate, tracking and notifications.

Now that is an okay trade-off for the extra amount of time that you get, and it's a watch, so it kind of has to be about the time with the supplied charging dock. It takes around an hour to top up the Oppo watch 41?mm from flat to 100. That being said, I strongly advise charging it first before you head out. You know once it's actually safe to do so, despite looking very similar to the Apple Watch. OPPO'sdebut smartwatch is one of the more stylish ones out there by a tech brand.

The two button and touchscreen interface makes it easy to use, and the display is one of the brightest out there. However, Wear OS's, notorious ram management and battery life still need a lot of improvement, despite OPPO's color of tweaks, making the whole Wear OS experience better. If you are one of those who want a Wear OS device, the Oppo watch 41?mm is one of the best options.
