Nokia 2.4 Full Review - Performance, Camera Test, Gaming By Izzi Boye

The Nokia 2.4 as a successor to the Nokia 2.3 is a really good device with good software being a device on the Android One program. Basically stock android experience at an affordable price point coupled with decent hardware. Is this a device you should consider purchasing over other devices at this price point? Well, let's find out. What is up guys, welcome to the channel. I'm Izzi and as always, I bring you great tech reviews. A few days ago, I did an unboxing and quick review of the Nokia 2.4, and also promised a more detailed review after proper use. So here we are.

So how good is the nokia 2.4? Is it worth buying over the likes of the Samsung Galaxy A11 or M11? Like other Nokia devices, the 2.4 runs stock android with android 10 right out of the box. It is clean, light, bloatware free, and sure to give you the pure stock android experience. Something you're barely going to find on any other android device at this price point.

There is also a guaranteed two years of android upgrades. That is android 11 and android 12 guaranteed. According to this roadmap, android 11 is scheduled for the first quarter of 2021. If I'm asked to state one major reason why I'll pick the Nokia 2.4 over other devices at this price point, it is going to be for the stock android experience. The Nokia 2.4 comes in two memory options 2GB RAM and 32 GB storage and 3GB RAM and 64GB storage However, I'm going to recommend going for the 3GB option for better experience. It uses a Mediatek Helio P22 processor, honestly not my favorite processor for budget devices but considering that the Nokia 2.3 used a Mediatek Helio a22, this is a considerable upgrade. The fact that the Nokia 2.4 runs stock android does not save it from some occasional lags. Now don't get me wrong, it runs your regular apps well enough and gives you a clean user interface.

But when you run apps like Twitter, you're going to notice some stutter when scrolling. Probably not a big deal seeing the price point this comes at. I still would've preferred a Snapdragon 450 processor though. One stock android feature on the Nokia 2.4 you may find really useful is multi-user. You can create a guest profile for someone who wants to use your device for a few minutes without granting them access to your messages or personal files, or you could use it to run other instances of an application in a different environment.

However you choose to use this feature is entirely up to you. I think it's a nice feature to have. While using the Nokia 2.4, I found myself pressing the assistant button more often, I always mistook it for the power button. I've disabled it for convenience. I could always trigger the google assistant by saying "OK Google.

" At 6.5", the Nokia 2.4 is not the most convenient for one-handed use. This is not a complaint though as smartphones tend to be going bigger as time goes on. The size does not affect the reach of the fingerprint scanner that is placed right underneath the cameras. It is responsive when unlocking the device. The textured finish on the Nokia 2.4 makes for easy grip. In a time where the competition is mostly adopting a left hole punch camera for its display, the Nokia 2.4 sticks with the waterdrop notch for its selfie camera. The device however makes for good media consumption.

Though capped at 720p, it's a good looking LCD display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a display density of 270 pixels per inch. Automatic brightness however is not always responsive on the nokia 2.4. Hopefully a software update can fix this. The 4500mAH battery on the nokia 2.4 is more than capable of giving you a day and a half of battery life on average use. It doesn't have fast charging so be wary it takes up to three hours to charge full when completely drained.

Did I also forget to mention, it still sticks with the micro-usb port. The Nokia 2.4 is not a device you should buy if you have serious gaming in mind. You should increase your budget and check out the Nokia 5.3 instead. It can play your regular games which are not graphics demanding but if you do want to push it for heavy games like Asphalt 9 or PUBG mobile, it is playable only at the lowest available settings but you are going to experience lags PUBG mobile is also playable at very minimum settings but like I advised, have no expectations. The nokia 2.4 has 3 cameras in total with a 5MP selfie camera, a 13MP main camera on the rear and a 2MP depth sensor. The camera performs decent for its price.

One thing I noticed however when taking portrait shots, it takes a few seconds to process. It's not as snappy or as instant as when taking regular shots. It boasts of better low-light photography. While I'm going to keep my expectations low, devices at this price point do not offer this feature, so I guess that counts, and it can also always be improved by software updates. Photos from this device are quite good especially when you consider the price it is coming at.

It may not be the sharpest in detail but it provides decent dynamic range. The Nokia 2.4 is capable of 1080p video recording from both the front and rear cameras. It's a camera test of the Nokia 2.4. It's raining, I better get inside. It has a 5MP selfie camera so I'm not going to have very high expectations, but I think it gets the job done.

It also has a 13MP rear camera and it can do 1080p on the front and the rear cameras. Okay, time to get inside. In summary, the Nokia 2.4 is a great device, clean user interface, guaranteed software updates for up to two years, good battery life and decent cameras. For devices in this price point it is easily among the best and if you choose to make the purchase, it will do just fine. Other devices to consider that falls in the same price category as the Nokia 2.4 are the Samsung Galaxy A11, Samsung Galaxy A10s or the Redmi 9c. I have my affiliate links down in the description.
