Let's, compare the charging speeds on both these devices for Samsung you get a 15 watt power break and for apple you get this apple air in the box. What's up guys sales here, and today we are going to compare two devices that are valued for people who want a flagship experience, but don't want to pay the flagship price and the devices in question are going to be the iPhone 12 from apple and the Samsung s20 fan edition. Now, both these devices are very value for money devices and both these devices try to be flagship while cutting some corners. So today we are going to compare both these devices and see how these devices fare. As far as the build and the overall experience is concerned right now, I can feel that apple one is much more premium when you compare it to the plastic bag. S20 fan edition.
Now I'm going to turn both these devices on to see which one boots faster for a reference. I can tell you that Samsung showed the animation much quicker than apple, because I don't know what is the reason, but Samsung has a 7 nanometer chip in the form of exons 990. While Apple has the a14 bionic chipset, which is the first world's first mobile phone with a five nanometer chipset. So surely there is going to be an advantage for apple here, and we already know that when s21 or s30, whatever it is called arrives, it is going to come up with the latest snapdragon 875. So that is going to be a fair comparison.
But for the time being, we are going to compare these devices now. The most frequent thing that we do with our cell phone is unlocking and locking. So we are going to see which one uh unlocks faster and in the case of s20 Fe, there is a front camera which supports face ID, and then there is this in display fingerprint scanner, while in the case of apple uh, they only provide face ID, but their face. I'd is much more sophisticated when compared directly with Samsung and, as you can see right now, at multiple angles. Uh Samsung is still unlocking, while, on the other hand, Apple is still trying to figure out what is happening.
However, when you look it directly apple unlocks and as far as the speed is concerned, I believe that the face ID on Apple might just be a tad bit quicker. However, the angles at which this works are not that great and also in case of Samsung. There is another option of in display fingerprint scanner, which is a hit or miss sometimes around, but it is still available there. The next test that I want to do is going to be the application test and applications that we are going to open. First are going to be the default application, so we are going to open the dialer and I believe the iPhone was a tad bit faster.
Now we are going to open the messages application and again. I believe that the animations and the overall opening speed on iPhone is better in this case as well. The other application that we want to open is going to be the settings application and I believe again when it comes to the default applications. iPhone is still a better option at opening these applications, we are going to try some applications which are internet based applications and belong to the third party, but before that, let's just try the app stores on both these devices as these are built in and in this case, Google Play Store was much faster, while the app store on Apple took quite some time to open twitter. Twitter was faster on s20.
So when it comes to the internet, application s20 is performing better. Now, let's try Instagram again or in the case of Instagram. It was faster on the s20 and the overall experience is also a bit snappier when it comes to s20 Fe. However, I would still prefer the look and feel of the iPhone, maybe because I am an iPhone user or maybe because it is actually a bit relieving for your eye to see it in this smooth gesture, while on the s20 Fe, it is, I think, too, fast of a scrolling. So when you scroll it goes very fast, and I don't think so.
That is helpful because, when you're consuming media, you actually want to see what you are scrolling, but if you're just scrolling and if the speed is compared so definitely the s20 Fe is going to be faster also before moving forward. I want to mention here that the s20 Fe comes with a 120 hertz, refresh rate in its display, which is not available on the iPhone side. However, in this case, iPhone 12 offers a 60 hertz display, but it is an OLED panel which basically gives you a good-looking panel, and it is a big upgrade when you compare it directly with iPhone 11. Now, both these devices are connected to the same internet, so we are going to open the speed test application to see which internet device performs better. However, I don't think so that this is much of a deal, because both these devices are connected to similar internet, but sometimes this application reveals some good results, so we are going to see that, however, I'm not sure what type of result I am expecting, as you can see in the start, s20 Fe might just have gotten the lead.
However, when it comes to the final result, I'm expecting that both these devices are quite similar, and you can see in fact, iPhone shows a much better overall result. Now, let's move towards application, which are much more tasking on the internet and on your chipset as well. So let's try angry birds too. It's pretty much clear that the s20 Fe was much faster when it comes to loading. The angry birds too, the initial animation is, I believe, faster on the iPhone, but actual loading times are much better on Samsung, at least for now.
I don't know how this will fare in a near future, because iPhones keep on optimizing their software, so this might change, but right now, s20 Fe was loading. All the internet the best applications much faster than the iPhone. Now, let's try a game which is a very popular and a highly requested game, and that is PUBG mobile and right now, as you can see that the initial animation is much faster on the apple. However, I believe that both these will perform quite similar when it comes to loading the actual game. Okay, I was wrong.
It is much faster on apple, while this one is still compiling resources and by the way I just uh loaded both these applications before showing you. So it's not like that. This was not done free hand. Uh. This is happening in front of you, and Apple is much faster when it comes to PUBG, okay, so the next game that we are going to try is going to be the call of duty and as far as the animations are concerned, these are much faster on the iPhone and I believe that the overall loading time is still going to be better on iPhone, but the biggest difference that I see right now is the color difference.
Both these devices are displaying the color very differently, and I don't know which ones I prefer, but right now iPhone actually loaded the call of duty uh much faster when compared to the s20 Fe. Now we are going to do a test for the memory side of things to see which applications are in the memory and which applications still need loading so for the dialer application. Both are in memory right now, uh randomly trying out. Let's try Instagram and both these are already loaded, so they don't need new loading times. Let's try angry birds.
This is a heavy application, and it took a split second in case of s20 Fe and the screen went out, but both these are still in the memory. So there is not going to be a memory management issue on both these devices and both these are going to perform similar when it comes to memory management. I want to know what are your thoughts and opinions regarding both these devices and which one do you prefer? Do you like Samsung, because they bring out every feature before everyone else, and they are good innovators or do you like apple because they always perfect a feature before they roll it out for the public? Do let me know what are your thoughts and I will be comparing this device with the iPhone 12 Pro, and also I will be comparing the iPhone 11 Pro and the 12 pro so for those videos do subscribe, I'll catch you in the next one till then goodbye.
