So, what is up guys nick here, helping you to master your technology iPhone 12? Six months later in this video, I'm going to share with you the experience of this phone and if you should buy iPhone, 12 right now, all right. So I want to refresh the specs here because they're actually not that bad, a 6.1 inch retina display and this one is OLED. So it is that OLED type, you know we got super retina Dr here hdr10 and the thing is about this display- is that you know it's just definitely a major improvement over 10r and 11 and over the months you know it definitely has shown- and I kind of don't want to go back to LCD after using the iPhone 12. This one has dual 12 megapixel cameras, which is a very easy to use setup. We have an Apple A14, bionic chipset in here, which has benchmarked better than even snapdragon 888. So this one came out last year, and it's still benchmarking better than some of the latest and greatest android phones, that's coupled with four gigabytes of ram, so not the most ram on a phone, but it's actually pretty good and inside here you do house yourself a 2815 William hour battery, which seems very small on paper, but because of the optimization, because Apple has tight control over hardware and software.
This phone actually lasts a lot longer than you might think. What I like most about the body, the build the design of this phone is. It has its own unique character like yeah. It does go back to iPhone 5 days if you've been using iPhones forever. This ain't going to feel like nothing too special.
You probably had it before, but it kind of stands on its own. There's, no other phones out there with squared edges. Really, you know just like this kind. Actually, so this one right here kind of has its own character. You know you're holding an iPhone 12.
You know one when you see one mostly because of those squared edges, I also really enjoyed over the six months. It's hard to believe it's been half a year already, because this one doesn't feel it feels like brand new right now. What I really enjoyed about it is this one. Just stays pretty clean, mostly because we're not using stainless steel on the edges of this phone. Also, the glass at least here on the red one, doesn't show fingerprints too much.
It does get them, but if it's not really visible right. I could imagine it's probably worse on like the black version, but this version right here is just not a big problem. I do really like how this phone does. You know, look in terms of the overall look. It just stays pretty clean, of course, from time to time you still gotta wipe it down, it's not perfect, and you probably have it in a case, but it's just a pretty clean, looking phone overall, it stays clean.
It's minimal! Furthermore, it's simple! I really do like that and the iPhone 12 comparatively to the last editions, the 10r, the 11. This one is just compact sleek light, and it feels so much better in terms of the weight only 164 grams. So this thing is nice, and it's pretty well protected ip68. In addition to that, you do have gorilla glass in the front and on the rear, so very strong overall build here, even though it's light and compact, it's still sturdy, so very good here on apple, they really did make this a nice upgrade over those two prior phones. So when it comes to the screen display very good here, very bright, especially indoors, but overall after six months I have to say I really appreciate the sharpness, so you get 460 PPI, so that's actually higher than the galaxy s21, which is kind of weird, because always Samsung phones are always usually higher in pixel density.
But this one right here stands on top. It really does very good in this respect, so the text is always sharp clean and with the OLED you're, getting a little better contrast than before. In addition, you of course have your true tone dark mode. The classic iPhone features here that are all scheduled. You can customize all of them, so it looks pretty good all the time you got the dark mode right here.
Definitely looking very good and then, when you go into YouTube, you do have a nice overall video experience when you punch in yes, the notch is still there. So it's going to cut in if you do that, pinching thing, but overall you do get a nice colorful natural. Looking video also, I feel like for the compact nature. The thinner bezels on this display really give this phone kind of just a feel like you have a larger phone than you really do have just because of that illusion of the thinner bezels making the display just feel a little bigger. Now people are not going to be fooled, they've had max phones before, but if you're coming from anything smaller, you really think this is a pretty good sizable display, so very good overall screen.
I think it's one of the best actually for our mainstream phone here in the iPhone 12. , so this one launched with iOS 14, and it's been stunning. What I mean by that it's been pretty darn good in reliability and performance. I've had a couple app crashes, but it's been pretty rare. So, overall, I would say you're getting a phone with very good day-to-day software performance and with the widget support here in this you know iPhone 12.
You definitely do have a little more customization than you ever had before. You can also hide these screens out, so we're getting closer, we're getting a little more customization here with iOS 14, and you could do this on pretty much. Every iPhone is supported, but what I'm saying is that it's just a better experience than what we've seen when, like the iPhone 10r first launched. So if you're looking for the mainstream iPhone like the iPhone 12, you have a lot more features set right out of the start, so I do like that it was more feature packed. However, I still want to see split screen.
I think this is enough screen to do a split screen mode on here, but yeah longevity and good features equal, a very fine software experience and then, when we talk about performance here with this phone you've seen that the iPhone 12 in most of my speed tests was either keeping up, or at least beating a lot of android phones, especially in the benchmarks, not in the animations, because it's a little slower there, but definitely in the speed overall. Day-To-Day is strong. However, I do notice that this phone does have a little of a thing where, if you get a lot of applications open, it will start to reload. I don't see that often on the 12 pro max, so this phone is definitely not the strongest iPhone performer. That will be the pro max, but it's enough for most people.
I think almost everybody, even power users, probably wouldn't be upset, and one extra thing it does well in speed is just the response time. When you actually tap an application, it's so reliable. It's actually much more reliable than a lot of competing devices. It just seems to respond quicker to touch than a lot of other devices out there. However, I will say that this phone can really benefit from an upgrade to a pro motion display because this side, the side action scrolling through the home screens.
If you compare this to a 120 hertz, you can see that it just doesn't have that same butter. Smooth, look anymore now, iPhone was known for being buttery smooth, and it's still smooth if you've never seen these 120 hertz you're going to think this is butter smooth, but compared to that it just doesn't look that way anymore. It just looks regular smooth now, so I really want to see pro motion.120 hertz make its way to iPhone this year in the upgrade to the iPhone 13. Now, storage- I'm almost halfway through this one already you can see 36 gigs used out of 64. , and I've only had it six months.
So, at this rate, I should be full by one year's time, so not very happy with a 64 gig starting price, our storage, but if you're not doing a ton of video, this will be fine for most people. It's just there's a lot of competition out there. That's just giving you 128 GB to start so apple. Please start making a 128. We did it on the pro on the 12 pro.
Has that but come on, let's bring it down to the iPhone 12. At least two. This one is still like 800 bucks, so I would like to see 128 gigs to start on the next version of this. Now my initial reviews of the iPhone 12. I did talk about how the iPhone 12 didn't have better battery life than the iPhone 11 or the 10r, mostly because it's running 5g and all the display and over the time using it, it seems to have gotten a little better.
However, it's still not beating those phones. This one I finished today I get through the day. Don't get me wrong if you're buying an iPhone 12, you should be able to make it through a regular workday, a regular usage day. However, I'm finishing around 15 to 20 percent, whereas with my 12 pro max, I'm finishing with like 50, so batteries is where I think apple's going to really improve this year on the next models. But you know: don't get this one thinking you're getting two days, you're, not getting two days with this phone you're getting a day, and you're going to need a charger by the end of the day.
You might even charge this in the middle of the day, if you're, using this thing, heavy using camera, 4k video like if you're on vacation or something, and you go like you go out all day, you might actually need to take a battery pack if you're, really using that camera heavy. If you're using the 5g performance, you know doing a lot of maps and stuff you're gonna definitely kill this thing pretty quickly, so yeah. I. I would really like to see an improved battery life on the next version. This one makes it through the day, but it's just a day phone, that's pretty much it and moving on to the main camera, so we're going to bring in the OnePlus 9 pro for a sample right here.
What I like is the simplicity of this: it's a dual 12 megapixels, so we have very good consistency and simplicity here. If we go ahead and take a photo, it's just so easy to use you back it out. You got two cameras, that's about it! Then you go over here to video. You can change your video settings right here and what I like is that in the apple camera app it's just like simplicity, combined with complexity, we do have a very complex feature set, but what we do have is results that pretty much any Joe schmo can get pretty easily. All you have to do is zoom and take a photo and some of these photos, if you don't even know how to use a camera like this one right here, you know you definitely are going to get better results, just using an iPhone 12.
So we've come a long way in photography and videography. This one really does have very good video, though like some of the best, it probably is the best on any phone out there and then the front has 4k 60 it's 12 megapixel, so it matches up very good with the rear camera on this phone and overall, I would say, you're definitely going to like what you get here. I mean it's, some of the best cameras on the market and then six months later with audio. What I like is that apple did put a very strong set of versus speakers.12. These speakers are super full loud and they they they sound like they could be on a thousand dollar iPhone, honestly, so really strong there.
But you get no headphone jack. You have to buy your own headphones, separate, no more headphones in the back in the box like back in the day, you got to make some purchases separately. At least the audio that comes with the phone is very strong, so I'm not giving apple any credit for getting rid of all that stuff in the box here, but hey at least what they're giving you here. You got to give them credit it's very loud and those speakers on past iPhones are trash, so this is definitely very good and now phone call quality. Now this one right here, majorly improved over the iPhone 11.
, definitely with the Qualcomm in here it's doing strong. However, I find this still not to be the best on the market. I found that this sometimes has a little less bars than my s21. However, I would say big upgrades here to mobile performance overall, pretty good, pretty strong, don't sweat it. It's going to be a good phone in that respect, so the price of this phone right now still going around that starting price iPhone seem to hold their value a little longer.
They don't get a lot of discounts, so you're still going to pay pretty much full price. But the question is we're halfway through the cycle already: do we buy the iPhone 12 right now it just depends. How thirsty are you for a new iPhone? Are you waiting for a 13? Can you not deal with just having a little older specs in just six months? You have to decide that because we're at the halfway point- and I think right now- it's definitely still worth it because, as 5g, I don't think the iPhone 13 is going to massively change over this one. I do think that maybe the next edition after the 13 will, but this one right here is just a well-rounded phone, even if it doesn't have the strongest spec sheet on the market. This one right here is just super.
Well-rounded, it has pretty much every feature you need, and it's going to have really long. Software support, so yeah iPhone 12, there's a reason why this is one of the best-selling iPhones on the market. Actually, I think it was the best-selling iPhone in the last quarter, so there's a reason why these things are selling like hot cakes thumbs up. If you found this video helpful entertaining and for me- and let me know if you're picking up the iPhone 12 this year still or if you already got one share your experience with the community and why you decided that you're going to keep this phone if you kept it nick here up in you to master your technology, I will catch you all in the next episode. Thank you very much for watching be sure to be well and peace.
