Xperia 1 III - Nature Photography with a Smartphone?

As, you know smartphones. These days are doing everything we could ever want to do on the go, and it fits right in your pocket having a camera that fits in your pocket is extremely valuable when it comes to photography, because you never know when you stumbled across something you just have to capture on camera. Today, I'm leaving my regular gear at home and taking this bad boy out for a challenge capturing nature with only a smartphone. So since I live in a city in Sweden, the sunrise is at 4am. I have two options: one being waking up in my bed at 2am to take my car outside the city. The other option is sleeping outside for the few hours the sun is below the horizon, and that decision was pretty easy to make hello beautiful.

So I finally found a place. It's not perfect, but I'm not doing photography from the hide. This is just my bed for the night, so the plan is to basically go with the car around this area. Here hope that I can catch fog and a deer and with the sun lighting up the fog. So that's my plan, but, as you know, in wildlife photography everything can happen.

This is wolf territory and who knows it can't happen so um, so I'm really excited for tomorrow morning. So we got good news. We have fog over there, which means he will probably be there tomorrow. My car key is gone. It's probably intent, but we'll see.

Look at this okay. I need to get out of the car for this. Look at that. Maybe I should take an oh there's, a roadie right. There come on now too much grass in the way.

That's a bad shot. Okay, come on now, there's a deer come on he's close to the car. Also come on now come on. Oh, it's going away! Yay! I think I got a shot. The sun is not behind the fog, but I think it turned out pretty dreamy.

Oh nice, oh my god. This is beautiful, holy macaroni. This is insane. I need to show you this. That was so worth it.

So this car is a KIA, and it's a half electrical car. So when I put it in reverse it has this noise, like this ringing ringtone which I don't like, because when you're photographing from the car- and you had to reverse to like to set up the composition, this damn bell turns on, and it scares the animal away. Oh, look at that. We have a deer we're going down there, so it's worth getting through all this junk. Hopefully, oh, my god, wow.

Okay, look at this! I'm blown away like look at this. Oh my god, I'm blown away for these conditions- this is a happy face, couldn't be better wow. So I'm back from where we began, and now it's a new day here in Sweden. I slept like one hour, so I'm really really exhausted, but the conditions I had this morning is just phenomenal. They were out of this world, so I'm so happy.

I got out got up early and did it. I guess something I want to prove with this video. Is that getting the shots? Is it's not easy, and it shouldn't be easy. I know many people that thinks that it's just luck going out there seeing a fox capturing it or seeing a deer in the fog. It's just lucked, and sometimes yes, it's a combination of three things.

I think so that's planning skill and luck. You plan out, if you want the shot with fog, you watch the weather, and you do all those things. There's the planning part then, knowing what to do. When you see an animal like how to get the composition right, what settings to use and that's the skill, and then we have the luck, and I've said this many times, but you deserve your luck so being out here the day before sleeping in a tent going up early, then I deserve the luck to see an animal. Maybe I didn't get that perfect shot today, but I'll definitely get it some other day.

You need sometimes luck, and you get it when you deserve. It sounds pretty weird, but it is that's how I think at least going out with the car like this. Is it's really productive? You can get a lot of different shots with a lot of different environments and so on, but you don't get this nature experience and that's that's something I miss when I'm out with the car so next time I'll definitely go out and walking we're sitting in hide just watching the same field all morning when an animal passing by that feeling is really nice. So if you reach this far into the video, I just want to say thank you so much for watching and if you like it, press the like button, it means a lot to me.
