HTC U11 Camera Review + Samples

You know guys: my name is elf: how you're going you're watching my HTC you a little should unlock this you're watching my HTC? U 11 camera review with samples, so if you're new to my channel a while back back back yeah a while back I, unboxed and reviewed the HTC, u 11 and with the review I sort of wanted to keep that video short, so I sort of breezed over a few key points and I didn't really go into too much detail with the camera in tonight's world. Smartphone cameras are so impressive, so they're pretty much a big deal and the camera on the HTC. U 11 is no exception. In my review, I said you had a great camera and still does it's a very capable shooter in both photo and video. If you're keen on this phone, then stick around I'm going to go through the UI in great detail and show some more photos and video samples. I just wanna quickly point out a few little features.

If you press the power button twice that launches the camera are pretty quick and also while you're in camera mode and without exiting it. You just press the power button to close the screen and if you turn the screen on again, it takes you straight back to the camera mode. So that's something small, but it's a pretty cool feature that I don't think any other smartphone manufacturers thought of okay. So this is the UI I like it. It's nice and clean.

So starting on the right side here, you've got the shortcut to your gallery. Got your shutter button. You've got your video and camera toggle button. It's just quick access to go from be video to camera and vice versa. Then you've got your front and rear facing camera switch on the bottom.

Here on the left side, you got your flash toggle, on/off and automatic, and at the bottom here you've got your HDR toggle, on/off and automatic. If you press this menu button here, it takes it to all their camera features, and I'll get to that. Next, you've got usual touch to focus, and then you get your slider for the exposure. You can fine-tune it, but it all exposed to whatever you focus on it changes the exposure. Whatever you press on, then you can change it in the toggle and if you take a picture goes into your gallery, but if you hold the shutter buttons, then you go in burst mode and then, so I'll go into my gallery, and you get to see all the pictures you have taken in burst mode and the automatic set automatically selects the image for you.

That's that's. You know it thinks it's the best and if you press this little button here, you've got more options. To set an image, is the main photo keep the photo that you want only and delete the rest and a cool one is to create animation. This is a bad example, because I'm not moving the camera, but I'll do another one, and what I'll do is I'll move now I've got a selection of burst pictures I'll create an animation. You can quickly make a GIF or If.

So it's a pretty handy feature and each time you turn the camera on. If you can see, but it gives you indication of how much video time you have left and how many pictures you can take. So this is the main menu here, and then you go to secondary menu, depending on which feature you're in it gives you settings so obviously the photo I get settings for timer, and then I've got settings for their different image sizes. So I've got one two one: nine megapixel, four by three 12 megapixels, which is the native resolution that the sensor is and so why it's the highest pixel that you can get, and then you've got sixteen by nine megapixels. So what happens with a sixteen by nine? Is it crops, the top and bottom and so you're? Getting a smaller resolution image next up is the panorama mode.

So I don't know if you can see in the video, but there's a little spirit level sort of thing and that just helps you get a straight panorama sweep so next one I want to get into is pro mode in the settings of Pro Mode. You get the option to change from a RAW format to JPEG, then, obviously the time, and then you've got your image resolution again. You've got automatic settings here, so you've got your macro sport and then night photography. So that changes all the settings here for you accordingly. So the manual mode settings you get is white balance, and then we got your exposure compensation.

So this changes these other settings for you once you play with the exposure compensation, and then you've got ISO, which ranges from 100 ISO through the maximum 800, and then you've got shutter speed. The fast as it goes is 8,000 of a second and then the slowest is 32 seconds, and then you've got focus mode, so you got focusing to the distance and then focusing for macro. So it's pretty handy. If you're trying to your know, focus on something, and it's not working, you know. So sometimes you get a plus symbol and all that means is you can save custom manual settings.

They have three options to save, so that's pretty handy. So why not knowing them at the manual mode is all these buttons. They don't disappear, so you're stuck with a messy screen. So if you change the settings, they don't disappear until you press them. You know physically press them if you made a mess of things, and you want to go back to Harry.

They were before the default settings just pressing auto. That takes everything back, and this is also sort of annoying. Once you go into a feature, I kept my switches, but then the menu disappears so say if I go to video mode, and then it disappears, but so if I need to access these things again, I've got to press the menu button. So it's sort of annoying getting another feature that maybe HTC can look at changing. If they're watching this video in video, you get options to change the resolution, so you can shoot in 4k Full HD, which at 1080 HD, which is 720.

Then you got cue VGA, which is crap. You got MMS, which is crap your and then below. That is the high-res audio toggle. And then, if you just toggle that and switch between high-res audio, which is like a low compression recording, so it's really high quality. And then, when you in 3d audio, you get the option to change from acoustic, focusing on and off and more the 3d audio does is uses all the microphones and then puts it's the one video sound.

So you get some nice interesting surround sound when you got headphones on, but acoustic focusing is pretty cool. Whatever your subject is in front of the camera, it'll focus, most majority of the sound you'll hear is from that subject. It doesn't matter how far they are so, if they're far away, and then you zoom in you can actually hear them. So it's a pretty cool feature kind of creepy. If you want to creep on people and hear what they're saying, if that's your thing and then below, that is the option to change from 60 to 30 frames a second.

So moving on from video we've got hyperlapse, which is just time-lapse yeah, nothing out of the ordinary. There you've got no options and then below there is slo-mo. So it's Demo, you got no options. It wouldn't be good to be able to select the different slo-mo speeds from the top of my head. This is stuck at 120 frames.

A second 240 frames would have been better and then below. Slo-Mo is selfie photo, which is the front camera there's me, and while in selfie mode you get the option of makeup, which is pretty much beautify. You know its rid of all the wrinkles, and then you've got settings for the format so 4 by 3, 16, megapixel, and then you've got 6 by 9, 12, megapixel, one-to-one, 9, megapixel, and obviously you've got this timer and all that stuff. So it's pretty cool. So next up is the selfie panorama check out the settings, so you get wide and then widest.

So if you've got a big group of people you want to put in, and you've got your timer selfie, a panorama is pretty much, so it's not a normal panorama shot but with the selfie camera they're. Next up that is selfie video, which is pretty much video I. Don't know why it's the point and moving on we have the settings, so you get all your options touch 2 exposure, on/off got the grid turn on and off. Geo-Tagging shutter sound on and off. You've got more camera options.

Some of these things are grayed out, depending on the camera. Setting you're in some of these will be highlighted and so yeah, because it doesn't really apply it to whatever setting I'm in now. So I can't change them. Another cool feature is voice capture. Pretty much lets you say, cheese or take a picture and the camera takes a picture, and this is good mirrored selfies.

This is a handy one. I keep it off, so I can take selfies that aren't mirrored you know, nothing is backwards and then moving on you got the volume button. So it just lets you select what the volume button does, and then you got the option to change from internal storage to memory card, but yeah. So that's the UI. It's not perfect.

It's got some annoying things with it. You know HTC. If you're listening, you can make some changes if you want. So that was the UI. If you ask me, probably one of the better camera UIs in the Android world, it's clean and well laid out, though it still has its issues.

I hope HTC is watching this and maybe make some changes in the H. You told good morning, everyone I say morning this morning, where I am and there's no one else out here, except for me and this dude going for a walk. It was behind a tree, sup man anyways. This is the front-facing camera of the HTC. U 11 and all the sound you're hearing is through the inbuilt mic.

It should be filming, I mean filming. It should be recording at 1080, not sure, and so I'll just go for a walk for you guys. Yeah, I would handle stabilization from the looks of things. It's not bad, and then I'll just pan around, for you guys. You know it handles exposure man.

My feet like getting wet from all these walking on the grass, so much like just and could fill in my socks now have to be careful not to step on any so yeah. This is the front-facing camera of the HTC u11. Okay, so now we're at the rear facing camera, and it should be shooting at 1080 60 frames. All the audio you're hearing is through the inbuilt mic, and I am shooting this handheld single-handed single freezing hand. It's very crispy up this morning, sun's out still that our cloud in the sky, it's gonna, go for a walk with you guys, see how it handles stabilization, and it's really getting wet.

So it does focus pretty quick, and I'm just going to test out the acoustic focusing. So these are dude when a little tractor thing over there. Hopefully, that worked I can't tell from where I am so yeah. This is the rear facing camera of the HTC. Your 11, the video capabilities of the U 11, is what you would expect from a flagship.

What's really offensive movie's the microphone, it's very detailed, and somehow it does a perfect job and focusing itself on your subject. Finally, here are some camera samples. The images that came out where exposed really well. HDR mode. Does a perfect job and balancing the shadows and the highlights the colors have a bit of a punch to them, but not too much.

So if favors are more realistic, no white balance was handled well, it was pretty much what I saw with my eyes when I hit the shot, though there were some instances where you lean more to a cooler side. Here are some image samples if you like to see the originals and check in a description below or the link to my UK right now, those were the image samples. The only real gripe I have with this camera is taking pictures in the dark setting in order to get a brighter image. The camera defaults to a really slow, shutter speed, so nice and bright. Sometimes the image you end up with can have a bit of a blur.

You would have been good if they did it. We need to lower the shutter speed too much, but instead maybe increase the ISO sure I get an image that is slightly darker and maybe has a bit more brain, but at least I'm getting the image that is nice and sharp I tried to cover a wide variety of different shooting scenarios. Try to really challenge the camera. I was pretty happy with the results, I liked them and I hope you did to do you want a knife as a camera on Android, don't go past these phones, this camera caters to the casual shooter and also to the soccer field enthusiasts. The matter who you are will have fun shooting with this camera, where anyways guys.

That concludes my HTC. U 11 camera review. If you found this video helpful then give me a thumb because it would help me if you enjoyed watching this video hit the subscribe button.
