Hey everybody it's here: this is the Xiaomi mi 10 ultra the box actually only has the Chinese name, which is a Xiaomi 10 premium editions. I also have here on me a case for the phone and a 55 watt wireless charger. Now this is fast, but the cable included in the box with the charging brick is actually 120 watts. So that's going to be pretty crazy, so I'm going to do a real-time test right now, so I'm really excited to try this out, because this phone has some really extreme hardware. You have a periscope zoom lens that can apparently go up to 120 x, digital zoom and aforementioned 120 watt charging. So we have here this is in Chinese, so I'll read it, so it says now the thing you're holding in your hand, it's our most proud.
It's our proudest work, it's a breakthrough in, so this is simplified Chinese. I read traditional Chinese, so I'm kind of struggling a little, but I believe it says this is a breakthrough in zooming a new speed and charging another breakthrough in displays. This is basically made by Xiaomi engineers to show off Chinese tech, prowess and right here, together with you, we will level up to step forward, so we have the phone here. It's quite heavy. I'm going to put it to the side first, so here we have it the 120 watt charger.
This is the is a Chinese or us brick, so in Hong Kong, I'll need to use a converter, but I'll definitely put this to the test right after this, the charging, cable, sim ejector tool and a dongle USB c to headphone jack dongle and a hard case. Okay. Now, let's get to the main event nice. This is the transparent edition. So here's the camera module headlined by a periscope zoom lens.
I can get up to 120x digital zoom. This is a 12 megapixel portrait, 2x zoom lens, so between these two lenses, you'll be able to cover the focal length anywhere from 2x to 5x it'll all be optical, zoom and down here is a 48 megapixel camera and then finally, a 20 megapixel ultra-wide camera right here. So the screen is curved and this is a 120 hertz panel. The curvature it's very nice. This is more in line with the Huawei p40 pro's curvature instead of the Xiaomi mi 10 pro, because it's not sharp.
So do you see the curves? It comes to like a softer edge, so it doesn't dig into my palm as much okay. So this phone runs me UI 12, with that really nice immersive moving wallpaper. You see that is that 120, hertz or not it looks like. I can definitely see the difference. Look at the way the animation of the shade like when you swipe it down, like it bounces, that's very aesthetically, pleasing to my eyes, yeah everything is buttery, smooth, so yeah, because this is a Chinese software.
There's no google out of the box, and you have some Chinese apps, but most of them. You can probably uninstall like right here, but that's not what we're here to do we're here to test out the charging and the camera. So let's just do a quick charging test on the spot. Okay, let's check out the 120 watt fast charging. So right now we see that it is 12 45 pm, and we have 53 battery life.
Charger starts the timing right now, so it is. It has begun charging 12, 45 53 battery life, and we see that it's at 74 exactly 5 minutes now 75. So it went from 53 to 75 percent in five minutes. Okay, let's test out the camera on this phone. So we have a wide angle right here.
So the location of the widening camera means my finger still gets into frame very easily, but we'll do 5x. I was looking very sharp, but the main event is right here: 120x whoa, so now we're at 81x right now and then let's go up to 120. So this is 120, there's a lot of digital sharpening, but you can actually read the text. I can read that it says: um don't affect the environment, do not feed the pigeons, so I can read that shine all the way down here with that 120 inch zoom, I'm just going to do a quick test against the note 20 ultra we'll go up to 50x okay. So I'm going to examine these back home on the computer, but what I can see right now it looks pretty close except the 50x image on the mi 10 ultra is a little better lit.
Oh, and you definitely see you know better texture of the leaves right here, whereas on the note 20 ultra it's completely drenched in shadow okay, I'm back, so I tested the camera outside a little and I just took a 120x shot of that umbrella out there, and the image is right here so for 120x this is actually pretty crisp. I mean you can see that it's not like the sharpest image, but this is 120x, so in general, I'll just show you more photo samples right here. So this is a 50x zoom of a parking sign across the street from my neighborhood coffee shop. This is a 10x zoom of a street sign across so, so far. This is just very, very early testing, but from what I can tell it would appear like if you go up to 120x zoom you're, going to get something slightly blurry.
So, but if you dial it down a little, if you shoot at 50x or 30x you're going to get some pretty nice and clean images, especially 2530x, I find that I find most of the images to be pretty nice. Okay. The next thing we're going to do is just check out the case and the wireless charging really quick. This is not a review by any means. This is just a very early first look.
I will be putting my sim in this phone and making my daily driver, and I'll be back with full review in about a week from now. So this is the case. I'm not going to use it, because this phone's back looks so nice, and it feels so nice in the hand with all the curves that I don't want to put a case over such a nice piece of hardware, there's no sharp or hard edges on this phone anywhere. Let's look at this 55 watt wireless charger, so I think you just prop the phone on like that, and you'll get 55 watt wireless charging speeds it uses USB. So that means I don't know if you have to use that same uh plug, let's go, try it real, quick plug, let's just plug it in so this charging.
I see the light is on so yeah. It is charging, but you, so it is charging, but you don't get like a cute little animation. Okay! So that's about it! For this first look at the Xiaomi mi 10 ultra. I'm really excited to make this my daily driver, because this is just a really beautiful piece of hardware. Now the Huawei p40 pro plus, is also a really damn stunning piece of hardware, but that phone unfortunately has some software issues due to you know the US government.
So then this by default takes the cake for the best overall package in terms of most powerful hardware with a software that is not restricted anyway. That's about it for this. First look at the Xiaomi mi 10 ultra take care, stay safe, and thanks for watching you.
