Tracfone Samsung Galaxy A50 Review By Matthew Hajjar-Betters

Hey, what's going on everyone Matthew here, uh! First, let me say: uh, happy, holidays, uh, merry Christmas, all that good stuff um for today's video I've got quite the tree for you, oh yeah, um, it's something that I've been um wanting to get for a very long time now, and it's finally, here it's um one of the latest releases from uh trace itself, I'm proud to present to all of you here it is the Samsung Galaxy. A50 I've been wanting this phone for about like uh over a year now I've heard rumors of it uh coming soon from trace and uh. Since then, uh those rumors have officially been confirmed this phone right here I got for a really, really great deal um. Originally it was price sorry um before if there were any special sales for this thing going on um. Originally, this was priced at roughly somewhere around uh 320 dollars from a trace's website, but um before and during the Black Friday sale. They cut the price down to roughly 270, but this past Cyber Monday during the Cyber Monday selling their site um, not counting like um.

The taxes for this phone and um the server purchase plan, the airtime plan that I had to get along with this phone because it was required and not counting the amount of accessories that I bought online separately. For this thing, this phone only costed me about a hundred and fifty dollars, which is quite a steal yeah in the words of uh john Morrison and the mid from WWE be jealous yeah. Okay, that's enough of that. So, like I said, this is like um, the kind of smartphone that I've been wanting to get for a very, very long time, and while it's finally here um, I can. I would consider myself more of like a Samsung Galaxy type of guy other than um, rather than any other brand out there, like uh iPhones um other smartphones, like android phones from like um lg, um ZTE, all those other brands um.

This is like um again. This is like the phone that I've been wanting to get my hands for my hands on for a long time now and for me to officially review. Hopefully this might be a YouTube first, video uh. For me to review this thing from trace, that's just been newly released like a couple of months ago. So let's take a look at the box and uh see what's up um, as you can see here, this is like the official box for the 850 from trace.

It's got a quite beautiful screen. It's quite big uh, bigger than um. I originally thought it would be so, let's open this flap up and uh see what information we can gather um, just a bunch of like uh instructions on how to activate your uh service with trace. Some airtime card plans, all the good stuff. Let's get to the like the specifications of this thing it has a 4g LTE comes with like um android 9 pi operating system, which I already which you can upgrade to um android 10.

As of the time this video, which I already did it, has like a 6.4 full HD screen up to 1080p. That's awesome has a battery talk time up to 25 hours, so uh this phone will practically last you all day with its like um four thousand William hour battery, and that it is perfect. Uh has a stand-up time to up to 13 days if um left alone or anything if like. If you um change the battery settings to like um, save the most amount of power possible, it is Wi-Fi compatible as well as you can see there. I don't know what I'm telling you that it has a whopping 64 gigabytes of internal storage, which is a huge step up from having only 16 gigabytes of storage.

From like my Samsung Galaxy j3 lunar has a Bluetooth 5.0, it's hearing incompatible. It supports uh micro SD cards up to get these 512 gigabytes. Oh my god, that's huge, and it's got not one, not two but three rear cameras. That's right: three UNO, those threes, no substitutions exchanges or refunds. Okay, and that's enough about quoting Aladdin there wrist in peace, Robin Williams, um anyway, uh.

The first camera is like up to um 25 megapixels, which is um the highest picture quality. You can get from like uh. This phone has like um a 5, megapixel, in-depth sensor camera and an 8 megapixel ultra-wide camera. I mean the fixtures you could take on this thing like um. It really has a huge wide angle to it, and it's really something it's also.

A GPS compatible has a 2.3, gigahertz plus one point: gigahertz outscore processor, it's a mp3 player. It can act as one. It includes uh the activation card services guide, a battery, that's already like uh, pre-installed and uh, cannot be removed by any means necessary unless you're at the professional- and you want to dissect this thing, which I don't recommend unless you're trying to fix this, or something includes an USB c, USB type c charger and a quick start guide. What I did was like I downloaded like um, their trace's official mobile, transferred wizard app to uh transfer, all my uh just about all my pictures, videos, uh contacts and text messages from my j3 Luna pro or to the a50. So let's take a look at the stuff.

It came with. First, we have um the sim card tool which you need to use if you want to access your sim card and insert um a micro SD card, which I already did and ironically enough, the 512 gigabyte SD card micros card. Sorry that I got for this phone is also a Samsung brand and this uh brand new. I got for about 40 bucks um about the right price for what you can get with a micro SD card, this size uh. Next, we have like the USB type-c charging, cable uh, it's uh, pretty short, but um.

The phone actually also like supports um fast charging. If you like, go into the settings and make sure it's um set to fast charging by default and because on the original core itself is not um long enough. For me to charge at a distance, I ended up purchasing a separate um third-party uh, USB type-c charging cable from uh Walmart for roughly around 12 bucks by this very well-known um company called anchor, which, from what I understand, is like a very, very good brand of like um charging cables like for um iOS android devices, devices that you charge through like lightning cables, micro, USB or mini USB, or even USB type c. So, if you're at Walmart, sometime or any other retail store- and you want to buy a separate um USB charging cable from the a50, I highly recommend getting this one, because it's about six feet long, it reaches a good distance, and it does the job done very well, especially when the phone uh is, is a fast charging compatible all right, um right here we got a bunch of pamphlets, um instructions for getting to know how to use um VA 50, including uh terms and conditions of service effective. As of November 7, 2018, um the activation card, I'm not going to show much of that information.

Uh instructions on like getting help by texting trace like texting, help to six one: six one um services guide for the a50 uh quick reference manual and just uh like um, an important um pamphlet, saying to actively go to tracfone. com and a little uh booklet that I have not yet opened. Yet I don't think I ever will about getting to know your smartphone service all right, um, also um. I bought a couple more accessories um for my phone, the first of which is uh this little magnetic car air vent mount that you can well put inside the air vent of your car or any other vehicle, and if you have like um a phone case that is also magnetic um, you can attach the phone to this, and it'll hold on to it, really tight, so that whenever you're on the road you need to go to places, but um need a GPS to get. There definitely get this thing and um the kind of GPS app that I would recommend the most using is a course like Google Maps, which has proven to be very reliable to me many times before.

Well. For the most part, it has screwed me up like a couple of times, but for the most part, Google Maps works really well, and you want to use that in addition to like this magnetic air vent. Mount also comes with like a couple of paste on disks that are also magnetic. Finally, we get to like um the phone itself, and this is like the protective case. That's also has like a magnetic um back side to it, as well as like a kick out ring stand that I bought um for about roughly eight bucks that also came with the air vent.

As you can see um. This is the back of the phone um if I'm showing off that it has like not one not two, but that all three of the rear cameras which I mentioned uh somewhere. I think this camera, that I'm pointing to from beneath it is like the 25 megapixel camera um, I'm not sure which I'm I want to say. This is like the 8 megapixel ultra-wide camera, and this one is the 5 megapixel uh, in-depth sensor camera and here's the little flashlight, which is uh very good. Here we have um the front screen of the phone itself um.

I have it set on to uh always on display, and I've chosen, like um custom screen for always on, like um, showing off a calendar like the days of the week, the month uh the time of day and the actual time, which is um Eastern Standard Time or Eastern Daylight Time, unless I'm mistaken, and it shows um the amount of battery life that I have left with this and um. The number of notifications that I got so just give me one. Second, while I unlock this, these are pretty much all the apps that I've installed from like on my previous phone over to this one and plus a lot more that um. I'm thankful, I'm very glad that I have a lot more storage to fit a lot more of the apps that I wanted to download on this thing that I couldn't do on my j3 Luna pro at the time. Now.

What I'm going to do next is um test um the video, the YouTube video quality on this thing to see how well plays the videos in um 1080p and at 60 frames per second, because this is like a full HD device, so you get 1080p videos from watching them on YouTube, and you'll be able to see them in 60 frames per second, so I'm going to switch over to um my cameras, um professional, like a video mode, where I can shoot in 60 frames per second, and I'll, be right! Back, hey everybody! Welcome to part two of my video and um right now, I'm outdoors uh waiting for actually waiting for my knees to uh get off the bus stop, but I just wanted to show you like uh how well the video perform shooting. Excuse me how well the camera performs shooting videos in 60 frames per second and here's. Another example of like um, seeing a video in 60 frames per second on this phone in 1080p um. This is like a royalty free video. First, so I don't need to worry about copyright issues.

So that's about it. So this is uh me taking like a selfie video of myself with um the Samsung Galaxy a50 from trace. This right here is me: shooting a video with my Samsung Galaxy 850 from trace and the normal uh 25 megapixels uh camera view. I think- and this is another video of um, the ultra-wide camera on the Samsung Galaxy a50 and, despite uh being a little darker, you can clearly see that the difference between this um view of um, the camera, the ultra white camera and the regular review camera is like a night and day. So I think that pretty much wraps up everything about this phone that I've um I like um, a couple of minor issues, is that first um, there are like two versions of this phone that exists um, the first one that I have right now.

This version is like um contains, like only up to 64 gigabytes of internal storage, where there's another version that can hold up to 128 gigabytes of internal storage- um, I don't know when or if trace will ever get around to releasing the 128 gigabyte version but um for what I got. I'm very happy enough with um this version of the phone, the 64 gigabyte version um, the other. The other minor issue I have with the phone is like how much it goes for online right now, not just on the trace website, but on other websites from other brands like um DEC, Han they're, going for about 320 390. Something like that. I mean those prices are just like crazy um.

I would recommend like um if you really want to spend um a good amount of money for getting this phone. If you want to join trace services. Uh after, like on the Cyber Monday sale, was over. This phone is going back now to selling at around 270 dollars, which um, unfortunately, is like the only lowest price you can get for the phone at this time. Um.

I don't know whether they'll have like a special sales for clearance to get this phone at a cheaper price like um, say uh. If it, the price gets cut down to like 200 or something less than that, then that's when I would recommend uh getting this phone as soon as possible, because some this is like by far in my opinion, I don't know how many times I've said it already but um. This is by far the best smartphone that I've ever used and that I've ever owned in my whole life. So I would definitely recommend um getting um the Samsung Galaxy a50 from trace uh. If and when you can, because this thing uh does the job, and it does the job very well with, like all the features that I mentioned and pretty much more than that.
