The TRUTH about the NEW iPhone XS/XR Smart Battery Case!

It seems like every time Apple releases a new product. There is a ton of controversy around it, and this product here is no exception. Hey what's up everyone Greg here, and this is a review of the iPhone 10s max smart battery case now. This is actually a first for Apple, because normally when they release battery cases, they normally release it for the smaller version of the phone. But this time Apple has included the iPhone 10s Max and the iPhone 10 are as well and another kind of first for Apple is that all three of these cases come at the same price point for a hundred and twenty-nine dollars, so you're not paying more for the iPhone 10 our case or the bigger size of the iPhone 10s max case. They all just come in that same exact price configuration.

So the iPhone smart battery case comes in a pretty simple box. That's really easy to open. All you do is just slide. It opens, and you'll see the smart battery case. The iPhone smart battery case is very similar to the Apple silicone cases and feel, except for the giant battery hump.

On the back of it, this is probably the biggest complaint I hear about. The smart battery case is its looks. I really don't have a problem with it, I kind of get. What Apple is going for here, they're sticking a battery on the back of an existing case, and they're trying to make it as small as possible without adding any extra bulk. A lot of people are bothered by the asymmetry of this case, but I get it.

Apple isn't going to make the case bulkier where it doesn't have to it's literally going to be a representation of where that battery is located and by not adding extra bulk into the top area of the case. They can keep it more lightweight, they can make it fit into a pocket easier, and honestly they can make it a little more comfortable to hold by not having it just be one giant thick case. Although the previous generation of the iPhone battery case had a reputation for having a battery hump I would say this iPhone smart battery case is a little more like a battery Rump. The iPhones got a little. You know junk in the trunk.

The inside of the case has a nice soft microfiber lining, which should theoretically prevent your iPhone from getting scratched up on the side of the case. You'll find the cutouts for the mute switch and the white silicon buttons that are kind of rubberized I, don't think they're, actually buttons I kind of just form around the sting buttons that are already on the iPhone itself. If you go towards the bottom of the phone, this is where you can find the thickest part of the phone, and it has a lightning port on the bottom of it. So you can charge the smart battery case with just a standard. Lightning cable on the bottom, you'll also find cutouts for the speaker, grilles and inside the case, if you're charging the case without having the iPhone in it at all, you will also find a battery light indicator.

So when you do plug in a lightning cable, it will glow orange and when it's done charging, it will show it as green. Putting in the iPhone into the smart battery case is a pretty simple process as well. All you do is take the top part of the battery case and just kind of fold it down, and then you slide the iPhone down until it makes a connection with the Lightning port on the bottom. So that's just the overall design of the case, but how does it feel and function in the hand? I think the first thing I noticed with the smart battery case when I put it on my iPhone 10 s max was the additional weight, however, after using it for about an hour, I really adjust it to the weight really quickly and in the hand it feels pretty good. Once you get used to that initial weight increase I really like holding it in the hand- and this is my first iPhone smart battery case and I- was really worried that this bump on the back of it would make it more difficult to hold.

But I can easily hold this thing on hand and I actually like resting my finger right on the top of this smart battery case. My biggest issue was the bottom of the case. I know the previous iPhone cases had Chin's on them and although this battery case got rid of it, it still does have a lip of silicone going around the bottom. So it's not open, like other iPhone.10S cases are, so it does make swiping up or using the iPhone 10s gestures a little harder to access. Another negative about this case was just the fit in my pocket.

Overall I was still able to fit it in my jeans pocket, but I could definitely tell there was some added bulk and thickness in there. Now. You might think that's my biggest complaint with putting it into my jeans. Pocket is holding it in there, but that's actually not what my biggest complaint is. It's when I take it out of my pocket.

The silicone case really picks up lint and dust really easily. So I do not like how dirty this nice pristine white case gets when you pull it out of your pocket. It's very easy to notice the lint. The lint is almost like magnetized to this case, and it really does show up pretty easily. One of the things that didn't pan out is that I thought that having a battery constantly charging, my iPhone would make this case get really hot, but honestly I've been using this for the past couple of days and that's felt pretty cool to the touch during all operation.

So the iPhone 10s smart battery case must be pretty smart to manage the charging cycle to ensure that the case is not getting hot in your hands while you're using it. Okay. So now, if you've seen some other reviews or read some articles about the iPhone 10s Mac smart battery case, there is a lot of misinformation out there and let's dispel some of those misconceptions, because there are quite a few of them. So the first misconception that I've seen going around is that the iPhone 10s battery case only has a 1369 William battery inside it. But this is a two cell battery, so you have to do 1369 times two, which is 2738 at 10.40, a decrease over the last generation of smart battery cases. It's actually an increase on Apple's website.

It says that should net you around 37 hours of talk time, 20 hours of internet use and up to 25 hours of video playback I've used it for a couple of days now and while I didn't really record the exact amount of time I've been using, my phone I've just been using my phone as I normally would, but I'm easily able to get through an entire day of really, really heavy use on this iPhone 10 s, Mac smart battery case so doing a whole day of just playing YouTube videos. Music, going on websites browsing the web going into week cell areas. This battery case was able to hold up, and you know I could use my phone all day when if I was really having one of those heavy days without that battery case, my phone would definitely need to be charged by the time. I got home, where maybe even a little sooner, and with this thing you could just take it out all day with you use that as heavy as you want, and it seems like the battery is going to be good on it. So you can take this battery case out with you all day use it as you normally would, and you should have plenty of juice left over now.

I bet, a lot of you are probably thinking Greg. Why didn't a Polly 5000 mm our battery and their or a 4000 or whatever kind of competitor you want to compare it to, and I think that's actually due to Apple's philosophy about what they want it to include inside this battery case and I. Think that philosophy is that this battery pack will get you through a day, no matter what and maybe even possibly two days without having to charge it and that they didn't want to add on unnecessary weight and bulk already more than they had to? So. If you added a bigger battery inside this case, you would probably have to fill up the top portion over here and that's definitely going to add some more weight and thickness and I. Just don't think Apple want it to add that much more weight to make it more uncomfortable to use I think they'd, rather stick with a smaller battery.

That's good enough to get you through a day than a bigger battery that maybe could get you through two or three days, but honestly, you probably wouldn't even want to use it with all that added weight and bulkiness I've also heard people complain about the lack of a button to power on the case. I also think this goes against Apple's philosophy of you using this case, where you don't have to worry about. Turning it on or off. Much like a sword is the extension of the sole for the samurai. The smart battery case is an extension of the iPhone.

It's meant to work in tandem and automatically without having the user to worry about when they should power on their case when they should power off their case to save battery life. The iPhone smart battery case is going to handle all of that, so you can just go about your day and use it as you normally would, and this also works in how you charge the iPhone 10s smart battery case. You have two options to charge it. You can take the standard approach and plug in a lightning cable. This will charge both the battery pack and the iPhone without requiring any additional input from the user.

The smart battery case also supports QI wireless charging, so you don't have to remove your phone if you're already using wireless chargers, you can just plop on the iPhone 10s Mac smart battery case, and it will wirelessly charge both the case and your phone. The battery percentage pops up as soon as you plug it in or lay it down, and furthermore, you can check the battery percentage inside your widgets, or you can do this by asking Siri. So let's do that right now. What is the battery percentage on my iPhone smart battery case? It's a 52%, and that will give you the reading for the smart battery case as opposed to the iPhone, so how Apple handles everything from the battery management to the charging of the iPhone 10s smart battery case is really smart and I, really like this software and hardware integration. That Apple did with this case and that's just if it's the whole package of this case.

Of course, you can buy cheaper battery cases out there for your iPhone, but it's the hardware and software integration. It's the idea that you don't have to worry about how you use this case with your iPhone is what I like about it the most. So is this battery case worth 129 dollars for your iPhone 10s iPhone, 10s, Macs or iPhone 10 are well I think it is especially if you like that hassle-free convenience of just having a case that would work automatically with the things you're already doing, and of course, if you actually need this case, if you need extra battery power, that extra battery power with the iPhone 10s smart battery case can make it, so you've last through an entire day when maybe during heavy usage, your phone might only make it through midday. So of all those features sound appealing to you, if you're like me- and you like the hardware and software integration, I, definitely recommend you pick up the iPhone 10s smart battery case, alright, everyone.
