TCL10 Pro - No One Should Buy This! By Matthew Moniz
So, here's the thing I really like TCL as a company. They produce some of these amazing TVs for a low price point that have good quality and I understand. They make some fantastic concept, devices that fold and look great, and I'm happy they're. Finally, coming out with a set of TCL branded smartphones, and I'll, be honest with you when I saw this device, I was like wow. This is a smartphone for 450 dollars. That cosmetically looks as good as $1,000.
Smartphone I unboxed it I, talked about its brand-new features. The camera is not the greatest. It could use some fine-tuning, but what really irked me was the email and I got four to five days ago from TCL. This phone will only get one year of updates. That's all they're promising.
You know what I can buy for $400 I can buy the iPhone SE this device right here is $50, cheaper, and I'm. Going to get four to five years of updates, plus significantly better resale value. I can buy the Pixel 3a, which probably still has another year or two of updates, which only costs 299 dollars, and it's going to have a much better camera than this guy. Then there's the upcoming pixel for a which is probably going to cost $50 cheaper than this have better internals and a much better camera. There is no reason to be creating a smartphone in 2020 and only offering one year of updates.
That's inexcusable, especially in a category. That's so hyper competitive like do you really think people are just going to buy this because it's $450- and it looks great. This thing should have at least two years of updates, even more. That should be the standard for Android, I'm, sick and tired of seeing all these bad devices hit the market and only promise you one year of updates. Not only is that insulting to your company, especially a company like TCL, which has a lot of capital to create all these fantastic products for a lower price point.
It's insulting to the consumer. Now I know I sounded really harsh, but sometimes you have to be sometimes it's just better to speak from the heart. Even if it's on a tech Channel- but you have to understand this- is a very hyper competitive market when all your competitors are doing better and coming out with phones that are better for cheaper and offering you updates for the next two to three years. There's no way you can come with a $450 smartphone and only offer one year of update. You know what that tells me as a consumer is that you have no confidence in yourself and if you have no confidence in yourself, how can I have confidence in your product so do I recommend the TCL 10 Pro? Absolutely not maybe for revision.2 they'll fix their software updates and offer better support, but until then I can't recommend it.
