TCL 20 Pro 5G - Unboxing and First Impressions!

So in this video we're going to take a look at the new TCL 20 pro 5g. I want to thank the guys at TCL for sending this over to review on the channel. This is going to be available, unlocked for 499 bucks, and you'll be able to get it in gray and marine blue I'll leave a link with current pricing and more information in the description of the video, and I threw in some useful extras as well, such as a case by accessorize and a nice backpack full of goodies as well. Now here's some top specs for this phone. It's got a 6.67 inch, AMOLED display full HD 2400 by 1080 20x9 aspect ratio. It comes with a snapdragon, 750 g processor.

Then it comes with 256, gigabytes of storage and six gigabytes of ram. So definitely a really nice job on the storage plus. It takes a micro SD card up to one terabyte, and it comes with android 11. It also has a 4500 William hour battery nice thing is this: one also has wireless charging, and it also has Bluetooth 5.1. So let's go ahead and open it up and see what we've got.

It looks like you get a clear case right in the box, so that's nice to see quick, start guide and safety, information, sim card and micro, SD card removal tool, USB charging, brick and an USB charging cable. It's got a nice tapered edge here along the sides. Definitely reminds me of the OnePlus 7 pro or even some Samsung phones how they used to curve the edges.32, megapixel, front-facing, camera right there in the middle, then here on the back, you've got four cameras. You got a 2 megapixel depth, camera 5, megapixel, macro, 16, megapixel, wide angle and a 48 megapixel main camera. I like how they didn't just make the back of this phone.

Look like every other phone out there I have to say: there's a pretty sharp looking phone on the back. I love the two-tone, look where you've got matte and then super high glossy power and volume buttons there on the right hand, side and then there the left-hand side is the smart key. You can actually customize how it works and with which app it opens. You've got your USB charging port on the bottom sim card micro, SD card tray, and the speaker, though this is a pretty large screen on here. It feels like it's really easy to handle.

I don't know if it's just a little thinner than some other phones out there. Overall. I think this is really nice. As far as hardware goes, let's go ahead and get it set up and start looking at the software. So when setting up you're going to get a fingerprint scanner built right into the screen, it also has faced unlock you're, also going to get next vision, which is image enhancement and video and game enhancement where it's basically HDR quality, viewing for the lock screen setup, you've got TCL style and classic.

Okay, it looks like you can enter privacy app with two fingers swiping up and holding for one second, okay, I guess that's nice to have okay yeah. This screen looks really nice. It's only using about seven percent of storage. So that's nice to see. I'm telling you once you get a phone with 256 gigabytes and then let's say you switch to one: that's only 128 yeah, I sort of missed the 256.

This is on UI version.3.0.3 looks like software in here is pretty much stock. Android swipe down to get your notifications swipe up to get all your apps up in the notification shade you're going to get most of your typical stuff. You've got flashlight Bluetooth, auto rotate, sound airplane mode, mini notification. Next vision, nice thing is, you can actually turn the 5g on or off. I kind of wish all phones had that easily accessible right.

There do not disturb location screen recorder hotspot. This one does have NFC screencast, dark mode, one-handed mode and nearby share swipe to the left. Get your Google News feed so far. The software seems pretty snappy on here. Even while it's downloading updates nice thing is, it looks like you can get rid of.

Some pre-installed apps on here looks like you do. Have a split screen on here works a little different from other android devices, but can still be done pretty easily. Just overall I'm pretty impressed with the screen on here. It's only a 1080p resolution, but still looks perfect. Here's a quick, sound test on the speakers just so you can get an idea of what to expect that feels really nice and soft, and it's got a nice mesh fabric there on the ear cups, 3.5, millimeter, wired, cable. Here, not detachable though, and then you get your volume wheel as well.

There's where you plug in the microphone, even though the microphone is adjustable to me, it feels like it bounces out too much okay, so the speaker on here isn't too bad. Unfortunately, you only get one speaker down here at the bottom. I thought there would be one up here by the earpiece, but no not bad. For one speaker, though, now when using this phone, you're gonna notice, there's a little tab over here on the right hand, side where you can just add shortcuts to different apps, you can turn it on or off. Then you have to, continuous, switch tabs filter, full screen, apps edit tabs and then edit edge bar position.

Personally, I don't think I would use it that much, so I'm just going to go ahead and turn it off for now. You can also customize the navigation by using buttons or gesture navigation. You can also switch the button layout down here and, if you go to more, you've got gesture navigation, high gesture bar and then it sort of just shows you what that is down here now, let's take a quick look at the cameras, and then we'll get into some gaming. So in the camera app they do things a little different. It starts with more which you're going to get panel, stop motion, light trace, super macro, high pixel, slow, mo and short video.

Then you've got auto, which you can see the okay, so I can see one downside of the camera placement on the back. It's really easy to get your finger in the way so yeah, that's definitely gonna. Take a little getting used to decent shutter speed, definitely not the fastest out there, but in video quality. It goes up to 4k at 30 frames per second, and you've also got electronic image stabilization and yeah. It takes a little longer when you do 4x3 high pixel, here's a few samples of photos and video just to give you an idea of what to expect okay, so yeah, just from using this phone for a short time I have to say the main camera on here is actually perfect better than I expected, and the macro lens on here is actually pretty decent as well.

Furthermore, it may be hard to tell from these samples, but I feel like you're, getting your money's worth when it comes to the cameras on here me. I want to try this case out real, quick, okay buttons on here, real click. That's for sure, pretty nice texture on here as well. Fingerprint scanner seems to work pretty good on here as well. Now I can see why they included this accessorized case, while the one in the box protects it, it's super thin and pretty much doesn't give you any protection.

In my opinion, it might just help with scratches. I ran a geek bench test and the results were about what I expected similar to the pixel 4 a5g, but maybe slightly better. I tested a couple of games on here, just to see how they performed and both PUBG mobile and asphalt, 9 looked and played really nice and smooth, while playing PUBG mobile. You get HD, graphics and high frame rates. You pretty much forget that this isn't a thousand dollar phone.

I really feel like the phones in this price range are starting to be that sweet spot in the market, where you get a lot of value for what you're paying, and it's really nice they threw in wireless charging, which you're not gonna, get with every other phone in this price range. So if you want a phone that feels nice and snappy almost flagship performance without the flagship price, you should definitely put this one on your list. So if you've made it this far into the video, you may want to say thanks by subscribing and don't forget, to give a thumbs up. If this video was helpful, this is Brian from fish bee productions. Thanks for watching, and I'll see you on the next one.
