What is going on from the testing today we will be talking about what the cameras on the TCL 10 Pro are capable of in terms of video and photos, and since there are ton of cameras to cover we're, just going to go ahead and dive right into it. Talking about the front-facing camera. So what you're seeing right now is footage from the front-facing camera, which is a 24 megapixel sensor, it's being shot at 1080p 30 frames per second, and this is what it looks like I'm just walking casually and you guys could get an idea of what the stabilization looks like. There is no optical image stabilization, but there should be some, hopefully stabilized footage. You guys can see. One thing you might notice is the fact that the highlights up here are just completely blown out.
So one thing I found with the front-facing camera, is that it just doesn't do dynamic range very well, like I'm glad I'm still pretty well lit, but yeah other things it just cannot handle that. Well. So that is something to know about this and then another thing is the fact that the field of view on this front-facing camera is very narrow. These days we're seeing a lot more wide-angle cameras, the front-facing, so you can get like group selfies and things like that. But here it's a very narrow angle.
So right now, I look a lot bigger, because the fact that there is a narrow angle lens on here. So that is something to know so yeah. This is the kind of food you guys can expect from the front-facing camera all right now on the main camera, the TCL town pro- and this thing is a 64 pixel camera capable of recording 4k 30 frames per second, and it has no optical image stabilization. But you do have electronic image stabilization, so you guys can check that out here check out these pretty flowers, real nice, so yeah, no optical image, stabilization. So let me go ahead and do a quick little run here.
So you guys can see what the stabilization is like if you're moving pretty fast. So all right shows you give you a good idea of what this camera is capable of in terms of video. You guys can see the colors on this thing really, really pop, and dynamic range is also perfect with the main rear camera, unlike the front-facing camera, all right now, it's over to the ultra white land, which is a 16 megapixel camera. Well, this phone, this camera can only record at 1080p 30 frames per second, so that is a bit of a downgrade, even though it it should be capable of doing 4k. It's not actually recording at 4k.
The max resolution you have is 1080p, so this is what it looks like once again, no optical image stabilization, but since this lens is so wide, we really shouldn't have to worry about having stabilization and everything should be more stable than it is before. So you guys have, it seems to be about the same dynamic range, ok, and we're back to the main camera. Now there is no way to switch between the ultra-wide and wide camera. While you are recording so now that I've started, recording I have to turn off the recording to switch the ultra-wide, but you do have the option of doing like a telephoto, which is a digital zoom, because there's a button that changes the 2 times zoom, you guys can see those roosters over there and back to one time zoom, but there is no way to go back to the ultra-wide. So you will have to stop the recording.
If you want to do that, and you can of course take pictures while you're recording, although I found that those pictures usually turn out pretty bad, so I wouldn't recommend it. But if you want, you can always take pictures while you're recording. So if there's something interesting one on each one to capture just take a little button, and you can capture it next up, let's do a quick, little autofocus test, so we're focusing away focusing on the phone away on the phone away. You know I want to focus him to be pretty good, although it seems like it. The edges have a hard time focusing wears in the center.
It focuses right away yeah, so try that again, on this side, no, and then BAM, it seems like everything in center will definitely be in focus. Where's. Everything on the edges seems to prefer the background up to the right around there right. So something to note. Ok, let's do a quick little autofocus on the ultra camera ?, so we're focus on the grass right now and onto the phone.
Yes, yes, boom and I. Think this one is a little better in terms of work focuses, so you can go to the sides and all still focus. So that's a little interesting. The sixth form of a pixel seems to have a hard time focusing when it's off to the sides, but this one is seems to be fine. Okay and the last part that I want to talk about with this camera is the ultra live video.
So this is not it. This is actually with the regular main camera, but this is to give you an idea of how dark this hallway is right. Now and now let me just turn on the flash, so you guys can get a better look of what to expect here. So this is what the video looks like with flash. Now we're going to go ahead and turn on the ultra low light video mode.
Okay- and this is what you can expect with the ultra low light video mode you can see. You can see a lot more, but it is very, very grainy footage and this shot at an DP versus 4k and to me personally I think it looks better with just a flash on, but if you're filming something that's really far away, maybe it wouldn't be more useful to have this mode versus the flash like if you're filming outdoors, this mode might be more useful than the flash mode, alright. So moving on from video, let's talk about photos and with this phone, and we'll start off by talking about the main 64 megapixel sensor now by default it takes 16, megapixel photos and those photos generally tend to look pretty good in good lighting, though they are at times overexposed and very, very saturated. But that is the perfect kind of picture for posting, the social media, so I think most people will be very happy with the images they get from the main camera. That is, at least, while you have good lighting.
However, when you have bad lighting, the camera does tend to suffer. The camera tries to produce a lot of noise and results on a very, very soft pictures. However, there is a dedicated night mode on this phone, and it does actually a pretty good job of bringing back a lot of that detail. I was actually pleasantly surprised by how good the night mode on this phone is. Now it doesn't compare to something like a pixel device.
I do find that if you have an image with a lot of dynamic range, it tends to blow out a lot of the highlights. So it's not the best when you have a lot of dynamic range, but if you're into like a very dark room or taking a picture or something when most of it is pretty dark, it tends to produce some pretty good results. There are two major downsides to this night mode, however, and one of them is the fact that it can take up to 10 seconds to take a photo with this camera. So you have to just hold it steady, the entire time, and you can't do anything else with your phone while the picture is being taken and processed. So you do have to wait quite a bit for the camera to take pictures with the night mode on and the other problem that I have with.
It is the fact that you can only use this with the main 64 megapixel sensor on the rear. You can't use it with anything like the ultra-wide or the macro camera. So that is something you should know. That's a case with most of these special modes that are built into this phone, except for portrait mode, which, by the way, portrait mode with the main camera is surprisingly good. It does a good job, but approximating the depth of field at least the main rear camera does the portrait mode is available on the front-facing camera and I will say that it's just not great, but that is pretty much the case with anything you do with the front-facing camera.
So the front-facing camera is a 24 megapixel sensor, and it just tends to take some really, really bad pictures, namely in the fact that there is very little dynamic range and when you're taking with the front-facing camera, there is no her built in for the front-facing camera and because the pictures that you take from it all come out very, very soft. Looking so even when you're outside in good lighting, the pictures still tend to look pretty soft. Now I did check if there's any beauty mode. Anything like that on and I couldn't find anything like that that was turned on, so I just have to assume that it's just making my features look a little softer than it's supposed to be I. Think of all the cameras that this phone has the front-facing camera is easily the most disappointing.
If a selfie camera is very important to you, I would steer clear of this phone until they can maybe fix the processing all right. Next up. Let's talk about the ultra-wide camera, so this ultra-wide camera can take some super wide shots, and it's a lot of fun to use outdoors to capture landscapes, but it tends to suffer a lot indoors. The camera is an F 2.4 lens, so the pictures it takes indoors are much worse than what you're getting with the main camera and, what's even worse about it, is the fact that most objects that are close to the camera tend to look very fuzzy and that's awful, especially when you're indoors, when everything is close to you, it's still a really fun camera to play around with, but I just got to say it's very disappointing to see how poorly it performs indoors all right. And finally, the last camera we talked about in terms of photography in this phone is the macro camera.
It's a 5 megapixel sensor, and it is easily the best macro. Camera I've tried so far, I'm just not sold on macro cameras, but you guys can take a look at these pictures and you guys can see the kind of details this phone can capture. Even though there's just capturing 5, megapixel images, you can get super close to objects and get really a lot of detail. You wouldn't be able to get with any of the other camera. So if that is really cool, I, just don't see myself using this lens that often other than to occasionally show it off alright.
So there you guys have it. That is what the cameras on the TCO temporal are capable of. There are eight ton of cameras on this phone and I think you say on what the route of having more cameras versus having like one really great camera, and that might work out for some of you, especially those of you who want to have the ability to take lots of different types of photos you want to be able to. You know to have an ultra-wide. Has that macro shot things like that? Match works out pretty well and that main camera is still a perfect.
Camera for stills for video is pretty decent, so you do how all that versatility, but if you're someone who just wants a perfect main camera, there are other options out there, but of course you will be missing out on some things like the display here, but we'll talk more about the other options in the full review coming up, but yeah with that. That's pretty much it for this video like this one. If you like this subscribe, you guys loves it and I will catch you guys. Next, one bye.
