What's up YouTube's a fear on super-safe TV, and we've got the brand-new Sony Xperia z5 here for an unboxing, and it's one of the first on YouTube. Surprisingly, this has come fast in the UK, which doesn't usually happen. Usually do get these devices in the U. S. first, so a thumbs up for getting this LE would be appreciated. So let's not waste any time and get straight to the unboxing.
So the first thing we're presented with is the Sony Xperia z5, as you can see here, this is the gold version that we have, so we'll take a closer look at that shortly, having a look at what else we get inside the box. Firstly, you do have a screen protector now. This is something a little different, not something we usually get in a device so nice to see. Would it be nice if that was pre applied, but anyway, you also have your paperwork, so I'm just going to quickly skip through here, as you guys know, I'm, not much for paperwork. There's your power brick! Now this will vary depending on where you're from we've got the three pin power.
Brick here in the UK- and you also have your micro USB to USB cable, pretty standard stuff here, so let's go ahead and get straight to the device we'll get it outside its plastic wrapping and let's get rid of those screen protectors. So, firstly, at the front and also at the back now these are slightly frosted. So these aren't screen protectors that you can leave on, which is the reason why you've got an additional one. Now, let's go ahead and take a closer look at the device so up front. You can see a 5.2 inch display now this is 1080p resolution. This isn't the 4k z5 premium, which will be coming later, either at the end of this month or early November, and we will try to get that onto the channel now up top you've got your Sony logo.
There's a five megapixel front facing camera some sensors- and there is your stereo speaker, so you've got one at the top and there's also one on the bottom side and do front-facing speakers are always nice to see. There's nothing else here on the bottom. Having a quick look at the back. You can see that we've got this frosted gold color here, so it isn't reflective as we've seen previously. You know what you think of this gold color in the comment section below on the top side of the back.
Furthermore, you've got a 23 megapixel rear facing camera, now I'm a huge fan of Sony cameras, because pretty much all the main flagships out there, such as iPhone and Samsung use, Sony, sensors, so Sony do know how to do cameras well, I'm, definitely looking forward to comparing this to some competition. If you are, then let me know as well in the comment section below there's also your LED flash here, then you've got your Sony logo in the middle and the Xperia logo at the bottom. On the top side of the device you have a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack, a microphone on the bottom side. There is a micro USB input and there is also a slot for a lanyard. Now, on the left hand, side, there's an expiry logger on the bottom and up top is your SIM card and a micro SD card tray.
So this is sealed which makes this device water unless resistant, something great, that we have on the Xperia devices, and then you'll be able to take out this tray, and this is what it looks like up close now. On the right hand, side is pretty interesting because in the middle you have your power button now. This also doubles up as a fingerprint scanner. This is the first time I have personally seen a device with a fingerprint scanner on the right-hand side of the device. So this will be interesting to see and how well it performs compared to some competition.
There's your volume rocker again. This is towards the bottom, so something a little different, I'm, not sure how I will get along with this I will. Let you guys know I guess it is a little more reachable compared to having it on the top hand, side, because this is a little of a larger device, and then you have a dedicated camera shutter button. Now, let's go ahead and give this device a first boot, so you can see the boot screens, and we'll speed this up so that you don't have to get too bored, and we'll skip through all the settings. So when it comes to Wi-Fi all the experience settings, let's just skip through all of those and get straight to the home screen and there we are.
We've got two android 5.1.1 lollipop running at the moment, so there we have it. The Sony, Xperia z5, now a very interesting device and the thing I'm most interested in is the cameras, and I am going to be comparing this with the iPhone 6s plus, as well as the Samsung Galaxy S6. So if you do want to see those then be sure to hit that thumbs up and to let me know if there's anything in particular that you'd like me to cover with this while I've got. It then does also drop that in the comments section below, if you haven't already then be sure to subscribe, I've got plenty more content coming up on here.
