Samsung Z Fold 3 5G & Z Flip 3 5G - First Look - Three Live By Three UK

Hi, I'm Jordan from three and today, Samsung have invited us for a network exclusive first look at their new galaxy lineup, which has just been announced, so there are five new devices in total, and I cannot wait to dive in. We have the Samsung Galaxy zed fold, three 5g, which is the future of smartphones. By looks of it. It's very, very exciting. We've also got the Samsung Galaxy zed flip 35g as well, which I love this really nice compact portable handset. We have two new watches as well: the Samsung Galaxy watch 4 and the Samsung Galaxy watch, 4 classic as well, and then last but not least, we have the Samsung Galaxy buds 2 as well, so the first device I'm really excited about is the fold 35g.

This one, I would say, is by far one of the coolest phones I've ever actually held. It feels really nice, it looks really premium, and I think, most importantly, it feels like you're using two different devices. So we've got this really nice 6.2 inch outer display that runs at 120 hertz and looks and feels fantastic. But when you open it up, you have that 7.6 inch inner display as well. That definitely takes you to more of that phablet feel, rather than just a big phone, which is really nice with the anal display as well.

One of the coolest features is actually in the hidden camera. So if we pop onto the camera here, you'll see that we have a selfie camera that can actually disappear. So it's not there when you don't need it, but as you want to use it and bring it to life, it will pop in a few different scenarios as well, which is pretty cool and means that you're getting that full view display that Samsung really want to drive home with this full device. So another really cool feature that Samsung have is the inclusion of the s pen for the fold lineup now as well? If you want to use it as a traditional smartphone, that's pretty great, but when you want to open it up and get that bigger screen experience, the s pen means that you can do things like head into Samsung notes. Uh take a bunch of kill notes in here, uh swipe over and start using the keyboard, if you prefer.

But for me this is a big deal, because now we've got cool things like air gestures that you can do as well. So as well as having that big screen, you can do more with the multitasking capabilities that the fold has uh. So if we swipe in from our edge gestures here, we can bring in more than one app. So let's say we want to surf the web and take some notes if we're doing maybe some shopping, but we can also bring in something like our gallery if we want to check out uh some cool photos of products that we've taken in the past as well uh so having those three different, apps working at the one time is pretty great, and we can add two additional pop-up windows on top of that as well. So one of the features I love most with this multi-screen is being able to pretty much instantly, take a selfie but then also review without having to go to a different, app and switch between them, because it's really, really fast and really, really easy.

So if I choose to take a nice selfie here, I can instantly pull that up in the camera app and see that basically, that selfie looks great. It looks bad and then take it from the top again. If I need to with this phone being foldable, you can also have a more in between with something called flex mode. So it's actually pretty amazing. If you open up the camera and then decide you want to set it down, you get this really nice in between where you've got these different segments.

So if I decide I want to take a photo, what you see here is we can basically have our controls on one part of the screen have a look at shot there. You can also see your preview on the top camera as well, so with a new category lineup like affordable phone, something you're going to be using every single day. There will always be questions about how durable is this handset, so we have one of the most durable handsets and the fact that it is ipx8 water resistant, which is obviously pretty great for if you're out about maybe it starts raining your phone won't get damaged by those little sprinkles of water and then also, if you're, worried about maybe breaking your display or scratching it. This is gorilla glass, fitness on the inside display and outside display, meaning that you have a phone which is less likely to shatter, but also more scratch resistant as well. So next up is the galaxy zed flip 3 5g, which is a very beautiful uh portable foldable device.

So this one's pretty cool, you have your traditional 6.7 inch smartphone, which is great and really beautiful, and has that really nice, Samsung, dynamic AMOLED display that we know and love? But when you want to, you know, use it on the go. You can fold it down to this tiny little square and then put it in your pocket and use it as well. On the outside. We've got this 1.9 inch cover display as well, which is phenomenal. So with this we have a bigger improved in terms of size and quality display, which can also do more stuff.

So we can control our music. We can see full text messages that come through as well, and we can also do things like record some audio, and we can set timers, but also, if you double press on the power button, you can also use that to take photos. So we've got two really nice 12 megapixel cameras, so we've got our main camera and also our outright. If we flip up, we can use those to quickly snap some photos, or we can swipe over, and we can start recording some nice video as well, which is pretty cool with flex mode. It means I can open the display up.

Uh get my camera ready and I can point it towards my face and then once you want to take that photo. All you have to do is raise your hand and then boom that takes the shot, which is phenomenal. Alternatively, you can also put in voice commands as well. So if you want to ask it to take a photo or just say cheese, you can do that, and the same applies for video much like the fold. The zed flip 35g has a big improvement when it comes to durability.

So we've got this really nice armored aluminum on the outside, which looks and feels fantastic, but we also have a really nice update to the glass as well with that gorilla glass thickness that we know and love. This is both on the outside and the inside, which is great. It means that if you are going to drop your phone, it's less likely to get those scratches that we hate on the shiny new phones, but it's also more durable and less likely to break as well. The flip35g also gets an ipx8 rating as well, which means that, when you're out and about caught in the rain, it won't be an issue for this device. So next up is the two new galaxy watches.

So these are the galaxy watch 4 and the galaxy watch 4 classic. So we've got the more classic watch here, so this one definitely looks like a more premium high-end device. It's got this nice rotating bezel that goes around the outside uh. Just to talk about the galaxy watch, 4 itself. This one, I think, actually looks really nice.

If you are more of a minimalist, and you want a really nice understated smartwatch as well, we have a digital bezel here as well. So if we are kind of switching between some kill different apps, it means we can rotate over. The watch also has a new OS in collaboration with Google. So it's now running wearables, which is super exciting. Not only does that mean you have this new look uh fresh UI, which is pretty fantastic.

You also get a suite of new apps available as well things like WhatsApp, which is super, exciting uh strata for me, which I think is phenomenal. I love going to run or recycle and having that on, my wrist is going to be phenomenal. Ties really nicely into Samsung health, which will give you a really nice overview of everything health focused on your wrist. The watch is also water resistant up to 1.5 meters, and you can pop it into the water lock mode as well. Should you want to go for a longer swim? So, last but not least, is Samsung's Galaxy Buds 2.

So these are really exciting, because you've got a host of new features that are normally flagship. Headphone features for a lower cost this year, so we've got some really nice things like intelligent, clear call. So if you want to take a call in a nice quiet room that will sound perfect, because it'll use that outer microphone when you switch to a more loaded environment like a bus station, it'll switch to an inner microphone as well, and it uses AI to basically detect the best solution for you. The buds 2 also come with active noise cancellation, which is a big feature for headphones at this cost. So that means you'll get that really nice isolated sound.

That means you can focus on whatever task. You've got at hand as well and from just five minutes charge you'll get about an hour's playback on this as well. Should you need to charge when you're on the go? You can wirelessly charge the device so with your new flip or phone, you can also pop them on the back. If you need to top up on the go, both devices come in some really nice colors.
