Hey, what's up YouTube, this is SCM studio, so in today's video we're finally doing the speed test between the Hawaii 9 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy S 8 plus now, as you may recall, on my first video we're going to do a different number of speed tests between both of these flagship devices. So to kick things off we're going to do a simple boot up test. So let's warm things up with a few specs, so the s8 plus has a Super AMOLED 6.2 inch, capacitive touchscreen quad HD resolution 1440 by 2960. Now we all know the is+ has one of the most amazing displays that we've seen on a smartphone with that nearly specialist infinity display with the Enos 88-90 5 chipsets, with an outscore CPU onboard storage of 64 gigabytes with 4 gigabytes of RAM. Now we all know the mate 9 Pro is no slouch either. It comes to the capacitive AMOLED 5.5-inch screen with quad HD display 1440 by 2560 and inspired by Samsung. It's also got the curved edge screen.
Furthermore, it's obviously got the latest killer.960 chipsets with an outscore CPU, 128 gigabytes of internal memory, with 6 gigabytes and runs now that was a mouthful. Let's go so, as you can see, both the power ROM buttons are located on the right hand, side of the device. So, let's see how fast both of them are now, as you can see in the beginning, the sh+ is coming in a bit quicker when it comes to loading up to the actual security screen. However, notice on the mate name Pro, when we get to the pin password screen as I enter it, we get straight on to the home screen immediately. Now, as we look back at the sh+, we know, is it still taking extra bit of time for it to get on to the home screen? Despite the fact it loaded up to the pin password protection screen in the beginning quicker? So that's one up for the 9 Pro, so we're going to kick off the main speed test by launching many apps to compare how well the run is handling it on both of the flagship devices.
So the first app that I will be launching is the form dialer and, as we can see, the maintenance road is coming quicker. Next up, we've got things once again: the maintenance road does come in slightly quicker YouTube. The main home screen for YouTube does come quicker for the maintenance role. Also, the Play Store neck-and-neck next up, we've got ensure slightly quicker for the is+. Next up is an app called beaver.
Video so via the video did load up quicker on the SS plus the main home screen did come up quicker back to the home screen. The next app that we'll be testing is hold, we house, so they were pretty much neck and neck next up is Shazam. The maintenance protocol means slightly quicker and Snapchat pretty much the same. I'd say VIA, plus more slightly quicker, and we've got the camera. The mate name proved did come quicker for the camera Google Chrome.
Now on Chrome, you see again on the midnight I didn't coming quick next up, we've got eight more pool, so the main temple definitely came on to that one quicker than the is+. Next up, we've got the calculator pretty much neck and neck, no big difference between those the clock very fast loading on both phones. The next step that I'm going to try is the sound recorder. So the sound recorder didn't come up a little quicker on the May temporal form manager. Now this is interesting because it's utilizing the actual rum on the phone to see how well optimized is now, as we can see, is that 90 out of 100 for the is plus, whereas on the Vietnam Pro, it was at 18.
So, as you can see after optimizing, both forms of Samsung s, APIs is fully optimized that 100, whereas the mate 9 is at 90 right back to the apps, so the next app is the sweetest. So, as we can see, the is plus does come in slightly quicker back to the home screen. The next app is Android Play, so with Android Play we've got. The mate.9 programs is slightly quicker, even though they've got two different home screens, which is quite next up. Is an awesome game called asphalt 8.
So as we get to the main loading screen, you saw, the ethics was just coming a bit quicker. However, when it comes to loading onto the main game itself, the main I'm Pro is actually, unless it faster. Next up, we've got going into google settings, and we're going to the Google Drive that was pretty much neck and neck, even though, on the actual fully loading time, it was a bit quicker for the midnight. Next up is the maps pretty much neck-and-neck we're talking. There is very small differences now again back to Google, we'll try Google movies and with Google movies we can see the main En pro did come in a little quicker.
Next up is Google Play or shall we say, Google Play, Music, pretty much neck and neck, and the final app is the calendar and, as you can see, neck, so as I go back to the home screen, we're now going to test how well all the apps that we've loaded refresh themselves to see. If there's any delay between launching the app supports again now what you'll notice on the mate 9 Pro is. Yes, we've got all the different apps that we initially loaded, however, as we're scrolling back up to the top you'll notice that once we get to leave a video, the other apps that we've loaded on the sh+ are missing. Those include, in short, play store, YouTube and the phone dialer, so as I scroll back down, you'll notice that you can't see any of those four apps, so I would slightly put the collects at the situation. I thought I may have done something wrong.
However, it turns out that the Maitland Pro can only store a maximum amount of 20 apps, whereas on the Samsung there doesn't seem to be any limit on how many apps I can actually load up. Now, let's get back to refreshing the apps, so we will start off with Snapchat neck-and-neck camera. We've got a delay for the essay 4, so there was a loading element. Next up will be the video very similar. Next up, we've got placed off once again.
There was a refresh for the is+ next up, we've got YouTube, so we'll see. If there's a refresh now, we've got two refreshes and both forms. However, with the Refresh being said, the main improved community click on next up is Android Play, so we can see with the sh+. It does pop up the apps a little quicker than the mainline pro, which was exactly the same as the t-10 plus, as you can see, with Google Drive. It does pop up the app a little quicker.
Similarly, again with the maps and the maintenance prom was slightly behind. Next up, we've got flame movies, slightly quicker for the ESA plus next up we're going to do asphalt 8, so the is+ was slightly behind. However, we've got two different loading screens which may have affected the result for that one next up is 8-ball pool. Now there was a considerable loading element to sh+ for that one, so we'll definitely give the win for the May 10 Pro. The next app that I'll be testing is Google Chrome again for Chrome, we've got a refresh on the s 8 plus the next app is speed test, so the food test is absolutely fine for the SO plus, and the next step that I'll be doing is the device management or the phone manager for the Huawei and, as you can see, both are at 90 percent and next app.
That I'll do is, in short, for a slight blank screen for the s8 plus and again, a slight blank screen for the SI plus 4 hungry houses and Chisholm once again of black blank screen so hopping back into the device management or the form manager for the whole Arden. As you can see, both are 90 percent other optimized them. It's just clearing up any background processes that may be slow in the forms down, but, as you can see, ESA is running. Finally, a hundred percent and 94 the Huawei Mate 9 pro. So at this point, I want to see how well the ROM has been handled on both devices.
So I turned all the apps down. So, as we can see on the mate 9 Pro, it says that we've freed of 800 megabytes, so we've got a total of three point: eight five gigabytes remaining, whereas now this is bizarre, the s8 plus we seem to have gained a hundred megabytes because we've only got 1.4 gigabytes remaining regardless. There may have been many processes in the background which may have affected this particular is ultimately, however, it does come down to which phone actually reloaded the apps and refresh the apps better, and in this case the main Emperor was the better phone. Despite the fact that, with the mate name Pro, you can't launch more than 20 apps at a given time, which is quite an interesting result, so to confirm as I pull down the notification icons, you see, there's nothing on the phones that should be affecting performance in a drastic way. The only things that we've got on our Wi-Fi, the location information- both phones are in silence.
In fact, on the is+ we actually have the always-on display, which may actually affect performance. So the penultimate sets between both of these flagship devices is a simple power off test, we're going to see which one simply turns off quicker. So as I press the power of bone you'll know it's both full switch off. At the same time, however, the SI plus, if you want to be technical, was slightly behind now. The final test I conducted was a fingerprint speed test.
Now take a look at how I'm finding it's so difficult to coordinate both my hands to complete this test. The SI pluses fingerprint sensor is just simply mounted in the wrong position. It is very difficult to coordinate both your hands to do the test, so, as you can see, I get quite frustrated simply take the phones of both of magnetic phone holders and try a different way now, after a fair amount of time, I finally get them right and, as you can see, the main I'm Pro is quicker for the fingerprint test. Now, as the SI plus is a 6.2 inch display, of course, reaching that fingerprint sensor is a bit of an extra stretch, however, going in the future I'm hoping Samsung's do finally make that 3d touch integrated, fingerprint sensor on the front of the screen. That would be an amazing addition for the North in terms of ease of use and the speed of the fingerprint sensor.
The May 9 pro is the better phone right guys. So in summary, some very interesting results between both of these amazing flagship phones, I, think the winner in my eyes, is definitely the midnight pro. So, as you recall, the mate 9 probes was faster for the power obsessed in terms of launching the apps I think both phones get particularly well. There wasn't an actual issue on either the phones launching the apps in terms of the app refresh, however, I think the SI pro's was slightly slower and quite a few different numbers of apps using the SI pros, as my daily driver now for the last couple of days, has proven an absolutely fantastic experience. There's no way I would substitute either phone I think both phones have got amazing pros, and they've got their cons, but I think in terms of going for the ultimate flagship device.
You will not be disappointed with either phone but strictly speaking, for the speeches, I do think the main I'm Pro wasn't but hey there's a lot more tests that I need to conduct between both of these flagship devices, so stay tuned. For that, so I'll be looking into doing the charging Ted battery drain test, it audios comparison set and, of course, a camera comparison test as well. So there's plenty more of content coming up on my channel I've got loads of different phones. I want to get through so I'm. Definitely looking at building a proper schedule, so I can fit many videos in within a week.
Definitely, if your comments and what you think were the differences between the phones and which one you would prefer definitely hit that thumbs up button. If you enjoy the video and stick around and subscribe, I'll catch, you guys in the next one peace.
