Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G: Silicon Case with S Pen Unboxing & First Impressions By TalkAndroid

Hey everybody. This is peter from talk android. Today we have the galaxy s21 ultra 5g, in our hands and of one of its main features or surprise features functions whatever you want to call. It is the addition of s, pen, support which is traditionally a Galaxy Note exclusive feature, but now, with the rumors of the Galaxy Note series being canned by Samsung, the new galaxy s21 ultra has gained s pen support. Of course, it doesn't come with an s pen in the box. Uh Samsung do require you to buy one for yourself, either separately or as part of a package with one of their cases, such as the following uh.

Here you see, as you can see, we've got the silicon cover with s pen included, and this is one that, where you slide the, or you store the s pen on the side of the case, obviously because the galaxy s21 ultra does not have built-in storage for the s pen, but hey it's something right, um, so we're going to take a quick squeeze of this. If we can get it open and um, we may put you on port ooh there. We go some sort of kindly provided a tearing option here voil?, so we've got the piece of paper with a quick start guide to put on a case which we don't need um. Here we have the s pen, um, nib removal and replacement set um in all the years of having had a note, a Galaxy Note, I've never once had to actually use it, but hey it's there, just in case um, and it's in Samsung's crackdown on waste and uh clutter, it's good that they've actually included it in the box, unlike the charger which you may actually use, but anyway, personal soapbox out the way here we have it silicon case um feels siliconize um, as you can see. On the left-hand side here, it's got a thicker edge to accommodate the s, pen, storage, um.

Otherwise, it's fairly standard you've got the USB type-c charging porthole the speaker chamber there and, on the right hand, side. You've got the power and volume buttons there's no space for Bixby button, because there is none on the handset, which is good, very good um, and you can see the uh. The case has a bit of a cutout area here for the frankly massive camera housing on the back of the s21 ultra and indeed all the s21 handsets um. So on the case it doesn't look like it sticks out anywhere near as much as it does on the actual phone, which is good there. You go and that's hardly scientific, but you get the point.

So, lets um plug the phone in take it for a whirl and okay yeah. You can immediately notice the extra uh width on the handset, I'm holding it. I've got fairly big hands uh without the case. The s2100 s21 ultra is quite comfortable uh to hold nicely rounded edges, but not too slippery, and the matte glass finish on the back really helps give it some well to reduce slipperiness I'll put it that way: um yeah! So it's quite it's a chunky boy. There we are there's only one word to describe it and that's chunky boy and let's see exactly how the s pen slots in, so I'm presuming that Samsung would like the um logo on the outside, like so, and it just pops in like that.

It really is neat, it feels pretty secure, just get a thumbnail in there or something it does feel like. It will go in the storage slot in any orientation, whether it's the baton showing or the logo showing or whichever yeah it's neat and tidy. Furthermore, it doesn't look out of place. Of course, you can buy different color s, pens to suit your individual tastes and preferences. The silicon cover comes in black as standard with a black s pen in the U.

S. it costs, which is a little hefty uh. Of course, you could always go for the flip case version, which is 89 which again wow yeah. I have to admit the extra width on the phone it's going to take some getting used to yeah even for my biggest hands yeah, I'm not a small chap by any means. So, if you're, a dream of the galaxy s21 ultra 5g was the ability to use the s pen with it, and you have small hands.

The silicon case with the s pen built in storage is not the answer for you. My hands are fairly big, and I can already feel the strain in my hand just from holding it for a couple of minutes. Um, it's not exactly comfortable I'll put it that way, and it remains to be seen whether the added functionality of the s pen, uh, will make up for the increased discomfort or the additional discomfort of the uh of holding the phone in the silicon case, which is a shame because it feels well-made uh. It's well-thought-out by Samsung so yeah. This has been the unboxing, the installing and first impressions of the silicon camera for the galaxy s21 ultra 5g, with s pen and yeah.
