Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus 3 Months Later! By Nick Ackerman

So, what is up guys nick here, helping you to master your technology, Samsung Galaxy, s21 plus three months later now. First thing I want to talk about is: has the price on the s21 plus come down, and the answer is yes: it's come down by 200 bucks I'll leave a link to where you could pick it up down below this one originally launched at 9.99. It could be found for 7.99 right now and that's just in three months. I can only imagine in six to nine. It should be right around 600 bucks around that time, so definitely more worth it now than when it first launched at a thousand bucks. So, three months later, quick spec check how have they held on a 6.7 inch, dynamic, AMOLED display, that is, of the 1080p variety. We also do have a 64 megapixel triple camera on the rear.

However, two of the other ones are not 64 megapixels. They are 12 megapixels on the other two, and we also do have eight gigs of ram in here down from the 12 gigs of ram that you will find in something like the s21 ultra-right. Here. That's why it's the ultra phone also this does have a snapdragon 888 and a 4 800 William hour size battery inside the body, and I could tell you, I literally feel like I'm just using the baby brother to the galaxy s21 ultra, which you know I switched to a while back, and it's been one of my favorite phones ever launched. To be honest, so it's just slightly not as good as the s21 ultra, but still a very good phone.

It might even be better for certain people, especially if you like the flat type of phones, it's a little easier to manage just because of the size and dimensions the ultra just a little bigger. It's got the regular s21 camera the traffic light camera. I like to call it because it just kind of looks that way. Let me know your thoughts overall if you've been using a s21 plus for this amount of time since it came out and what you think of the overall body I have to say this body is just spotless classy, especially in the phantom black. I just think it's a perfect, looking solid phone while it isn't pushing the boundaries of anything too zingy over luxurious.

Anything like that, especially unless you get the purple version which really stands out. It definitely has a nice slab style design really do enjoy it, especially this back gorilla glass Vic this on the rear, just spotless. I really enjoyed too on the s21 plus how Samsung decided to put you know no greasy glass around the side of these cameras. It stays spotless up there and yeah. While you do have painted aluminum, it looks like on the side it kind of gives the impression of stainless steel, and it doesn't feel much different from stainless steel either.

It still looks very good though, and it will scratch or chip if you do hit this phone, so I would definitely recommend putting this in a case. If you don't want to get this all marred up and nicked up right here, definitely overall, very clean, classy design. Three months later, I would definitely repurchase this device. Galaxy s21 plus also did feature ip68 dust and water resistance, so it definitely does have a lot of going for it there. Just like other flagship grade devices, you don't have to worry about getting it wet or anything like that.

So very good on that front is the screen a downgrade for this phone, and I have to say no, it's not. It's definitely better calibrated the colors look better. However. The resolution is down so if your pixel peeping, you are going to notice. This get the ultra.

If you want the sharper panel, it is a step back in PPI over the s10 plus, but definitely not a step back in the overall quality of the actual screen, because you have 120 hertz here is a lot smoother than a s10 plus. In addition to that, I think the way they calibrated the colors is a lot more natural and a lot more. You know accurate than what they did on the prior versions. However, if you like the more vivid natural display, you could definitely get a little more popping colors on some older Samsung devices, although the vivid mode does boost it up. I feel like they tone back the saturation just by a couple of points to get a little more accurate.

However, if you go to natural, it really does change out the overall display. Some people might not like this in natural on the galaxy s21 plus, because you know when you go to natural, really dulls down the colors. However, if you're tired of your eyes popping out, because you keep seeing these over bright colors, you might actually enjoy that now display itself here. While it is dynamic AMOLED, you still have your super deep blacks. You're very nice contrast ratios when you go to a 1080p panel here.

What you do end up getting is a display that will definitely save you more battery life, because you're not sucking as much power with such a high-res screen here at 1080 and most people from a regular distance are not going to be able to notice that this is not. You know your 2k, your 4k display, so I think Samsung decided to make that cut, maybe to save cost. But if you do want the sharper resolution and something you look into definitely go with the s21 ultra, but at 799 I think it makes more sense now with the s21 plus than at 9.99 for a 1080p style phone, but everything else about this is still flagship grade. Now, when it comes to the software for the galaxy s plus, it's essentially the same as the s21 ultra again now. One thing I will say is: I do like how you do have software updates coming in pretty regularly on this phone I've gotten one every month since I got this phone, so I'm happy to see that Samsung is pushing out software updates very well for this device, and what I really do like is that it has all your favorite Samsung features.

They're used to you got your edge panels over here. If you go into the settings up here, you can just plug a wire into your computer and use Samsung DEX turn this thing into a laptop, a very underrated feature that doesn't get enough credit. I think, on the Samsung side, it really does make this a computer in your pocket, especially if you have the peripherals to hook up to this. You have quick share wireless power share. Now you do have the enhanced processing mode, which will boost up the performance on this phone.

Some people like more sustained performance when gaming. In that case they did add the enhanced processing, so go ahead and turn that on. If you get this phone- and you want to do some sustained performance like heavy lifting gaming video editing stuff, like that, I would turn that on for that specific task. Other than that, I think it does manage regular tasks. Just fine, the galaxy s, 21 plus hasn't really heated up too much, unless, of course, I have no case on it, and I was using you know, games on this phone.

I do use a case. This is the one I use I'll leave a link to it down below. I, like a rugged case. You know snap it on it's got a little kickstand on the back right here. Works out perfectly does get a little greasy on the back, but that's okay, because I'm not really looking at that does have like these nice tire marks here on the side to go ahead and give you some nice rubber grip when you drop it very good protection on here.

So that's the case. I use the Samsung rugged case with kickstand. I will put that link down below in the description for you, so yeah everything you want in software. You got total customization over here, widget support. If we go here, you do have the ability to change between home screen app screens.

We have a lot of things. You could change this right here in the one UI between different app sizes. I'm always constantly changing this out. Depending on what I'm doing do I need more apps on the home screen one day. Do I need more apps or fewer apps another day, so I do constantly go through that you can even change the folder grid here and, of course, if we go back into settings here, you're going to notice that we do have a ton of features still available? You know device optimization is here.

If we go over here to advanced features, Samsung still lays it down, even though they've cleaned it up, you can see they're still laying it down here with the features they're letting you know, we might have cleaned it up, but we still are sitting on top of the game when it comes to extra features on a phone go to theme store, they got the whole Samsung ecosystem built in here with galaxy themes, Galaxy Buds, all that stuff where the Samsung health experience are very good, overall cohesive experience compared to like years ago when it was kind of like a little sloppy and messy, because I like how they bring everything down, still enjoy that and the s21 plus is no different, really like how there's no accidental presses with this flat display, though I will give them that this definitely is where I want to see the next s21 ultra upgrade go to. I wish they would just go flat on all, because, honestly, the curve display is nice, but I don't really think we need it. They're. Almost there already on the s21 ultra is barely curved as it is. It's not much curved at all, so I hope they go to all flat display now one area that really stinks about this phone and yeah.

There are some step backs from older Samsung phones is now that's no SD card storage. So on this phone you don't get a SD card really annoying compared to prior versions. You can see I've already used up 39 of my storage, and I've only had a phone three months so at this rate, I'll probably be out of storage in a year unless I switch to a different phone and I don't use up all the storage on my s21 plus. I don't like that. I don't have the ability to put my SD card in here.

If I'm coming from a s10 plus, I have to go ahead and start over at the transfer stuff. It's a headache, so I wish Samsung would have kept that all right. So let's talk about the cameras again, so you do have a 12 megapixel main camera, a 64 megapixel telephoto and a 12 megapixel ultra-wide. So mostly what you're going to be using unless you're zooming is a 12 megapixel cameras on here, and let me tell you, these cameras are amazing on this phone. We could back it out super wide.

You can go up to 30x and I found this is way more zoomed than you'll ever need, so the s9 ultra is definitely overkill unless you're really into telephoto photography. It's got to be very niche, like you really do that a lot, honestly. If I'm using this, I don't miss my s21 ultra at all in everyday life. I really do like the results you get on this camera as well, and if we go over here to more, you are getting a ton of features that are also found in s21. Ultra such as you know, portrait video hyperlapse pro mode.

If you get on here, even the director's view comes to the s21 plus allowing you to split the screens here on the phone. So really it's its pretty incredible cameras on board. In addition, 8k video, so you can do 8k at 24. I found it to get a little shaky at 8k, so I don't really use it much. However, you can turn on super steady if you want to get some steady video, but it drops back down into the 1080 mode.

You can only do super steady in 1080. Now, if we go out of super steady, you do have 4k at 60. That's where the video is really strong. It's its very! It's pretty stable and it's very sharp. So a lot of function here with the video very good and then, if you flip it around to the front, complemented by a 10, megapixel camera now I think the s10 plus had a 10 megapixel.

So this doesn't seem like a major upgrade here. If you're coming from something like that, but you can do a video at 4k 60 to match up with the rear, pretty decent. I wish it would put 12 megapixels on the front. Just so it'll be perfectly matching up, but I have to say I'm very happy with the cameras on here. It can produce some very vibrant results.

It has a lot of versatility and there's really nothing. That's going to make you upset about these cameras they're very good, maybe that you don't have SD card storage, so take more photos Samsung. Thank you very much, but definitely they're, very, very good overall performers. So take a look, a few samples I took of these in the past three months. You could decide for yourself if it's something you still want to, maybe invest in.

So all right. So let's take a look at my s21 three months later to get an idea of the audio quite a bit lower than that boost up devices. However, let's talk about how it's fair for me after these three months, very clear, very loud dual speaker. So, while you don't have a headphone jack like you might have had on your last Samsung phone, this one right here definitely gets the job done thing. I forgot to mention the flashlight on this phone is super bright.

I don't want to blind you, but man have. Furthermore, I found a nighttime incredibly bright, flashlight on this phone. In addition, if you want, you could tweak this to be even higher or lower of a flashlight, but at nighttime you're going to really love it. This thing is super bright, especially if you like to use your flashlight quite a bit on a phone, and you find your last one not to be that bright. This one is incredibly bright.

One area that I'm very happy with the s21 plus after a few months is battery life. I easily make it through every time. Every time I use this phone every day, man, this phone just easily makes it. Through the day, with the 4800 William hour, battery 1080p display the optimization to one UI, the constant updates, it's doing very well. You will never be worried about getting through a day with battery now you're not gonna, finish and be able to go into the next day unless you're a really light user standby is not the best I've ever seen, but I think most users who buy this phone are gonna, have no troubles, making it through an entire day on this device.

Now, if you're, not maybe something's draining your battery life or using the phone in a way that definitely is draining the battery life, because for me, I'm kind of using this regularly, and I'm getting an easy whole day from 100 to 90. It still goes down a little faster than I would like, but after it gets under 90, it just starts sipping, and then you get through most of the day on the topic of phone call quality having 5g performance on here on board. Addition to that having the phone calls being so sharp and clear is an amazing combination. You got the 5g, you got super crisp, calling the whole entire phone experience. Reception is super strong on his phone with amazing.

Overall, you know reception strength I found in my usage and three months later with the fingerprint sensor. Definitely doing very well very happy with that as well. This phone didn't have a heart rate, monitor some people, don't like that, but I do think the watches are better for this anyway, because they're on your wrist, constantly monitoring your heart. Anyway, however, it could be a setback for some of you. In conclusion, three months later, the price has come down.

The phone hasn't gotten any worse. Anything like that. There are better options out there. If you want a higher resolution display, let's put it that way, but I think if you want almost everything the s21 ultra offers- and you want it at a cheaper price- pick up the s21 plus, it's so worth it even right now, there's a there's, multiple colors you can get it in and while it won't suit everybody, especially the most high-end user, spec crazy user. That wants everything.

Like me, I mean I want every single spec to be the best I'm going to notice these things. But are you going to really notice a few step backs? It depends on the type of user. You are the phone you're coming from, and I think overall it's a pretty good option. Maybe you might want to wait till the price comes down even more, but believe me, even though this phone is not the highest res, it doesn't have the heart rate, monitor it lost the headphone jack. There are some step backs from something like a s10 plus if you're coming from that offers a very fast CPU, a much upgraded software, a 120hz display a flat display, no curves, none of that BS.

So you can get your nice grip on. Don't have accidental presses, incredible cameras, perfect battery life, there's a lot of the core things that are met here, that this phone meets up to and stands up to very well, which is why I think it's a very good overall option.
