Oh, boy another fan edition from Samsung s20 Fe edition, which I would say s24, I don't know I just like to pronounce abbreviations. So when they say fan edition, we wouldn't say it's just for only fans, only fans. If I had to say what this really is in a sentence, it's a really bright future for Samsung, but it's really competing with itself because of its specs. It's a very competent phone. In fact, it's one of the more competent Samsung devices I got to use this year. You know it's got that snapdragon 865 processors going for it.
It's got a decent eight gigs of ram 256 gigs of memory with expandable storage, 128, hertz, uh, super AMOLED, infinity, oh display, and it's 5g ready, oh 4, 500 Williams of battery. What? What more would you want? You know. That's a recipe for a great device, but the thing is it's not the only great device in the market. You know with these type of specs and a price tag of 3399 ringgits. The s20 Fe is very, very um.
How do I say it kind of leans towards the premium spectrum of the price range, because you know people will say that, oh, you can get a snapdragon 865 phones uh for less than 2000 ringgit for uh, even below 3000 ringgits. But the thing is Samsung's always placed itself in that range. You know they have cheaper alternatives which are like less than 2000 ringgit looming around the 2000 uh to 3 000 range. I would say that this would make a more solid investment, because this is pretty much a kind of trimmed down s20, with some better and some worse aspects of it. For example, this has fantastic battery life.
It can push up to two days on even 120 hertz, which was superb and on the regular s20. You will probably you can't even get past the day. You know, so that's that you know that strain, but we all know why, and I'm not just going to say it out loud, but these uh galaxy s20 FES pack, not as impressive cameras as the s20. So there are some. You know uh, uh trade blows between these two models and that's why I say it's competitive only to itself because, like I said this checks all the boxes, it's got all the best type of things you'd want in a 2020 smartphone.
It's got impressive cameras, but not as impressive as the other flagship, like I mentioned before, 212 and a single 8 megapixel cameras in the rear and a 32 megapixel selfie camera with one of the smallest punch holes, I've ever seen. But the thing is, it still takes perfect photos, and it takes perfect videos too. But that's the thing that is the uh signature, Samsung type of experience when you buy like any Samsung device. That is, you, know expensive enough. It tends to deliver in terms of that type of experience like good colors, good, uh coding, good bit rates and even good microphone audio.
So with all these things thrown into the mix, the s20 Fe pretty much has not any spectacular standouts compared to like the main s20 series, but you know comparatively talking about price. This stands out more, but that seems to be the only way, but even at that price range. I already said it's not, you know spectacularly cheap, nor is it too crazily expensive, but there are some kind of really weird limitations that I've gotten from this. You start off with a 15 watt charging brick out of the box. Again, I don't like that.
It kind of takes me almost two hours, sometimes to charge the battery to full, but the average you'll be going about is just over an hour if you're using it for a full day. I know people will be saying all competitors are offering a higher wattage at lower costs, but that's kind of their thing and to me, I am someone that always believes that you know high wattage charging is kind of hazardous and damaging to any phone's battery, because you know the heat build up and the regulations. Another great thing is the phone did not heat up. I just love that, because you know maybe it's the whole snapdragon thing and the specs and all, but the experience that's tailored when it comes to snapdragons and Samsung's one UI. It has always been a fantastic uh combination and on the s20 Fe, you are not getting anything less than that.
You are still getting a fantastic Samsung experience with the one UI and all the bells and whistles that you can also comparatively see on the main s20 series, and apart from that, like you know, we're going to go about aesthetics. This is one of the darker colors. This is actually the navy blue. It's got that nice matte finish it's plastic, but it's a premium feeling, I would say, and of course the side railings are metal, so it's just the sandwich of metal and plastic which I'm not going to complain because I worry less about fingerprints this time around and the box I kind of like it as well, because, as you can see, I don't know if you can, it actually has a lot of cute little etchings, all over the box to show uh the abundance of things that it has from like night mode to like macro mode to like smiling. I don't know what it's I just see them as camera emojis, but all in all, I understand why this kind of exists.
I think anybody would buy this because you know there's like so many color options, and it performs well. You want to use this to play games it already fulfills, whatever requirements, a lot of games on android uh already need. You know like a good amount of ram, a good amount of storage. Furthermore, you can expand it and a solid uh processor to run everything and, of course, a really fantastic panel that can go up to 120 hertz. If that's your thing on here, you can only choose between 120 and 60 hertz 60 hertz pushed me towards almost three days of battery life, and that is pretty good.
You know 4 500 Williams is not the biggest I've seen as a battery pack, but it kind of shows uh what how big a role uh software optimization plays, and maybe some smart charging sometimes anyone that's just looking for a very sharp and great smartphone with a very solid software experience. The Samsung s20 Fe 5g is one of my best recommendations out there. If you have the budget, because I really know that there are a lot of options outside with even lower price tags. But if you don't want to compromise on your experience and perhaps uh things like after sales service or just uh frequent updates, then the Samsung s20 Fe 5g is pretty much for you. The only thing is deciding what type of color you want.
Thank you guys for watching. I'm zen the geek I'll, see you guys in the next video galaxy s20 for 5g. You.
