Samsung Galaxy S20 and S20 Ultra Unboxing | An iPhone 11 Pro Max User's Thoughts

Though I've had my fair share of Android devices and, if you stuck with me for a while, you will know I was a devoted OnePlus user for the better part of two years since late 2018 or the launch of the iPhone 10s and 10s max I've had an iPhone in my pocket for several reasons, one of them not being that I am a dogmatic, Apple fanboy, who once kissed the hand of Tim Cook himself, but more so because iPhone offers me not only convenience with services like iCloud, an iMessage but also utility, because right now, as you can see here, I'm shooting on a phone and that phone is the iPhone 11 Pro max, which has an insane camera setup, and after I'm done, shooting this intro I'm going to conveniently airdrop it on to my Mac. So you can see here this phone just works in my workflow, with that said, establishing the fact that I am an iPhone user. Today, I'm going to be unboxing my fun fact: first Samsung Galaxy s, devices I've owned the galaxy s 20 and the s 20 ultra, and I'm very excited to see what they bring to the table here, but before we continue I'd really appreciate. If you leave a like on this video comment, if you have any questions, suggestions or opinions, as the YouTube algorithm like said, and will help push my content to more people all right, so, let's crack open these boxes here. I want to first start off with the non-ultra regular. If you will s 20 that I ordered in the pale blue, color, alright, and I'm greeted with the front of the phone here, I guess I kind of have to get it out of here.

Let's get the plastic off and after getting all the plastic off here, one thing I can notice right away is that this phone is more narrow than what I'm accustomed to. As you can see, and a similar height to my 11 pearl max but on the width is just not the same. My iPhone is definitely fatter delving deeper into the packaging. Of course, we have the literature that comes with a product and a SIM card, ejector tool which I need because I just lost one and then, of course we do get a superfast charger, brick from Samsung, your typical charging, cable and a cagey wired headphone and I thought there was gonna, be a little USB type-c to USB type A adapter, but turns out this little cardboard or card stock. Piece is just paper.

Alright, my sim is going in, and I can't help, but notice that there is a micro, SD card expansion slot right here, which is nice to know. I didn't even know this phone had that and as I'm powering it on for the first time, I'm actually really liking this form factor. It feels more like one handable, if you will- and this phone definitely feels premium I'm already a fan of the glass back. It's reminiscent of the iPhone 10 and, of course, every other Samsung Galaxy s device since the s6 on the sides, I'm not sure if they're made out of stainless steel, but they are made out of a premium feeling metal, it could be stainless steel, even if it's aluminum it still feels very nice, and the front screen has a very slight curve around the edges which I am a fan of. Although I love a phone like the 1 + 7 Pro, when the display curves are just too aggressive, it makes the phone handling and using experience just less enjoyable.

Then, while my S 20 is setting itself up or updating or whatever I want to get into the s20 ultra here, I'm very excited to see how big this phone is, because it has like a massive 6.9 inch display I believe so, let's get the Box open here as well. Here we have the big boy, the s20 ultra. Oh my god. This thing is humongous. Let's compare this to my 11 Pro max here.

It shares the same width as far as I can tell, but it is taller which is pretty impressive. Let's get the plastic off ?, so yeah. Here we have the huge Samsung Galaxy s, 20 ultra with an equally premium feeling design as the s 20, obviously, and a huge camera module which I'm very excited to test it out -. This doesn't seem that much bigger than my 11 Pro max now that I think about it. Our project used to it pretty quickly, but still this thing is a phablet nonetheless, so let's power it out as well and also crack open the box, and we also get, of course a supercharger.

We do get this piece of paper, that's in here for some stupid reason. We also have your charging cable and a PG wired headphones. Just like you get with the S 20s, so yeah same box same accessories, pretty much no different, even though you do pay more for the ultra, and it's bigger display and bigger camera. Alright, so both of these phones are set up, and I'm going to put my 11 pro max to have in the middle here. So I can compare my current experience with this phone to these two brand-new phones.

So one thing I can think of immediately is the fact that I really do enjoy the form factor of the s20. Like I said it's the same height or a very similar height compared to the 11pro max, but the narrowness makes it's so comfortable to hold in one hand and I, don't feel like I'm missing screen that much it does feel smaller, but not in a bad way. If you know what I mean just more compact, more comfortable to use and then the s20 ultra here does feel like a gigantic phone, it does actually feel bigger than my 11 Pro mags here, especially height wise and the camera module, makes it feel chunky or -. I find myself kind of bumping into it with my finger here as I hold it with one hand, but I think a case will remedy that. If I decide to keep this and use this as my daily driver for a little while and of course, I do enjoy the displays more on these devices because of the hole-punch design, especially here, you can barely see it.

With this black background on the s20 and the bezels are slimmer and trimmer, these phones just feel more futuristic that is kind of the trend of Samsung. Apple is still stuck in notch world, which I hope they get out of in 2020. But who knows we'll see and what's interesting- is that the s20 phones here are set at 60 Hertz out of the box, but you can't set them to 120 Hertz, which is great, which I'm about to do right now and of course, as we know, the 11pro max is locked at 60. So let's just see how this feels here: I'm going to scroll through and yeah, oh man. This is really nice.

I have used the 1 plus 7 Pro, which is a very buttery experience, but this is really nice and is a feature that I'm really longing for Apple to bring to the iPhone platform. Maybe we'll see it in 2020, who knows I hope so, but yeah. This is a very nice feature here and those Samsung's 1ui isn't known to be the most buttery on the market like oxygen. Os is the 120. Hertz is definitely making me want to use it more and jumping into the camera apps here, although the cameras are face down on my table, we have ultra-wide modes, we have the regular wide-angle modes, and then we have Zoom modes, and this is where Samsung gets pretty impressive, with the s20 you get up to 30, X zoom I, believe it's digital, but with the Samsung Galaxy S 20 ultra.

Here we do get a hundred X zoom, with this mass of zoom lens on the back here that has so much depth to it. It's so weird looking but so cool at the same time, I'm very anxious to test this out says, and although I can't really demo the zoom right now, at least in this environment. It's super impressive I'm, like scanning around the room here, and I'm, looking at little fixtures and details on the wall, and it feels like I'm looking through a telescope. So this is definitely a feature that I'm anxious to test just to see how practical it really is in everyday life and yeah. That's about all I got for you guys right now.

I actually have to use these phones in person in depth to get a better idea of what I'm working with here before I, make any more specific assertions about these devices, but so far, I'm very impressed with the size of the s20 ultra and the camera setups on here, I'm very excited to test them out in the real world and compare them to you know the iPhone 11 Pro in the iPhone 11 and other phones that I have like the OnePlus 7 Pro, and that about wraps things up here. I hope this video was helpful, especially if you are an Apple user thinking about jumping ship over to the Samsung side. Although I don't have all the answers right now, what I can tell you are I'm very much impressed with the hardware Samsung has brought this year, especially the 120 Hertz experience found on these phones and I do recommend you stay tuned for my upcoming reviews and, of course, comparisons with iPhones and other smartphones. I would really appreciate it once again.
