Hi guys welcome back to geeky stuff today, I have a mid-range smartphone from Samsung and that's the Galaxy a7 this retails for around about 310 pounds, but obviously now it's Black Friday I'm, seeing if around 250 to 260 pounds. It's also on the box here says 2018. Ah no, this has the egg xenon chipset I think I'm pronouncing that correctly. Never had one of them before it is not 2 core processors, 64, gigabytes of storage and 4 gigabytes of RAM. A few of the specifications there on the back as well. Super AMOLED, 1080p display infinity display as well and with a triple camera, ultra-wide camera, a depth camera and the normal 24 megapixel camera so very interested to open this up.
This also has a Mali g71 GPU, which some people might it might not like the social screw, the face up to Mali and media tech products being a Samsung phone I'm, expecting nothing less than just pure quality. Put it to the side. Quick Start Guide, a microUSB cable which why are they still using micro USB, should be USB type-c, some earphones, SIM tray, ejector tool, different size, earbuds. The Samsung charging block Samsung Galaxy a7 Wow. That is incredible.
This is breathtakingly nice, so, so nice blue, there's a black site. It's a glass back sticker off. So there is the triple camera setup, an ultra-wide lens depth lens and a normal 24 megapixel camera flashlight there at the bottom, these Samsung logo to that beautiful I. Believe it's a plastic frame. Okay, so you can see the USB type-c, port, 3.5 ml port for earphone headphones and a tiny speaker grill, just there with a little mic as well. This look a fingerprint sensor on the side.
I believe it is. Oh, it's a button actually, whether it's fingerprint inbuilt I'll tell you in a minute volume, rocker up and down, so I'm. Assuming that might be the power button. Actually they'd be great. If they've incorporated the fingerprint in there as well yeah volume rocker up and down this side, SIM tray at the top, a tiny microphone I'm very impressed beautiful smartphone as a power bar turn it on.
So this is running Android 8, 4, gigs of RAM 64, gigabytes of storage, 2220 by 1080p 6 inch display, and it does have Corning Gorilla Glass, but it doesn't state which version. Okay. Let me set this up. Ok guys here it is on the back of the box. It says this is an infinity display, but I don't really I, don't agree with that.
Bezels are quite fat at the top of the bottom and not that narrow on the edge. You see that they're not, but the display is a cracking Super, AMOLED 1080p display and no doubt about that. The side here is the office of the power button, and it is a fingerprint sensor. I've seen quicker, also signed it to my finger here, just in case I use it with my other hand, I didn't detect it them there we go. It's also.
We've got face ID as well. So if I look at the camera and there we go and trying a little time. Okay, that's quite quick guys! It's not free dimensional face ID, it's just the the standard technology within the a7. There's, no, not on the a7. You don't need to come in to display settings to disable that, at all, you have a blue light filter for the evening times to rest your eyes or reduce eyestrain yeah, pretty standard really all the apps are there.
Yes, some extra Samsung featured apps in there as well, but it seems quite nippy, it's updated. Apps is updated, YouTube great! Let's go update all them as well. Let's have a look at this camera lens. Quite a lot of settings within the a7 which isn't bad, and you can see here the trees. This is the ultra-wide angled lens or the closed cropped lens.
So let's try. This now try ultra wide-angle, because that feels so much more space. Oh, so it has a live focus mode. So this is the aka live focus not applied due to shooting conditions as touch they're. My focus ready, very impressive.
Okay. So let's hit the video button because I've stopped to turn lead light. Then one of the main lights off just to try video motors a bit flickering in there I'm going to go to ultra-wide angle, see if we can do video mode in there record, video and I think it crops in doesn't it, but we have image stabilization on the Galaxy a7. So close, look here the note 6 Pro. What do you think to the video quality? Guys and audio quality was pretty nice on here? Ok, okay, so we're in selfie mode.
Now on the a7, this is tracking my head. There has turned off any sort of beauty stuff on there. That's zero yeah, that's fine! So standard selfie mode, let's have a look which camera is it, which is also which lens? Is if it's that what do? Okay? Here we go cool. We have selfie focus as well, so this is going to be the blur or Baker effect ready to shoot. There's also an are and G mode.
Oh, yeah! That's a bit funny! Innit sticking little things on your face, so just like a snapshot really now and have wide selfie. So, let's try this sewer your device slow to the left and to the right. Let's see what that looks like. Oh, let's see if I don't get the top of my head in there and just cut my shoulder off a little, putting a little of practice on that, so normal selfie mode. This video, okay, ? front facing camera on the Galaxy a7 image stabilization as well.
I believe- and it looks pretty nice yeah yeah, that's good! That's a guy ca-7! It's a sweet house quit look at the camera, loads and loads of settings within that which I'm, gonna, try and learn over the past next week, or so jump straight over to YouTube 1080p. This is some 4k footage. Does it really, really nice? It's a huge display on this phone. You yep take a look at that beauty. Just in the audio on the a7 at the bottom, there, a very tiny slit there for the speaker just bit quite loud.
There get another great loudspeaker. It's only got. One single speaker, though, got the dual speaker I've, seen recently in some smartphones, but an impressive one. Nonetheless. So thing I'll do now for the unboxing and the quick look at the a7.
Without a doubt, the design is absolutely impressive. Just picking up fingerprints as I'd expect, but they'd buff off just nicely yeah I get that love it very. Very impressive. A cool fingerprint sensitive always seems to work really well, which also a power button as well. At the same time, so I've integrated two features in there within that one button seems to be an excellent, triple camera set up there as well.
The huge Super AMOLED display it's looking very, very good, and in the minute it's only 260 pounds looks like a good mid-range smartphone guys. Any questions, please pop them down below I'll, leave a link in the description to this shoot. If you want to take a further look, give the video a thumbs up, subscribe, and I'll, see you in the next one. Thank you for watching bye, bye,.
