Samsung Galaxy A52 vs iPhone SE! By Nick Ackerman

So, what is up guys nick here, helping you to master your technology, galaxy a52 versus iPhone SE comparison now, the reason I'm comparing This is because if you want a Samsung phone around 399 brands, new you're going to get yourself the galaxy a52, this iPhone SE 2020 actually slots in at the same price point, and with these bigger, you know, kind of premium, feeling cheaper budget phones coming out being very hot sellers. I question should apple bring a bigger version of the iPhone SE, like a SE plus, maybe extend the screen, give it another LCD and charge like 399 to 499 for it. Let me know if you'd like to see that down below in the comment section, but we're going to begin by talking about the build. The galaxy a52 is not going to fool you when you pick it up plastic back, so it kind of feels pretty cheap on the back, and it is matte, so it stays nice and clean. I like that, they went with that choice around the edge. It's got this aluminum looking frame, but overall, the phone itself just kind of has a cheaper feel to it.

But it has the looks of a premium phone, so it doesn't look cheap. It just kind of feels that way, if you compare it to something like the SC or something more premium. So why is this more premium solid, aluminum around the edges here on the back? This does have full glass on the back, so this doesn't feel cheap in the iPhone SE. It just kind of has an older looking design, so you'll notice in this price category. There are sacrifices to be made on both sides, so a cheaper feel for the Samsung, an older looking design for the SC.

Now both of these do have ip67 dust and water resistant, so they are pretty good on that front and they both have pretty solid glass. This one actually has gorilla glass 5 on the front, and this one should have a pretty strong glass as well, although it does scratch easy on both of them so do put a screen protector on them. Now the galaxy a52 weighs in at about 189 grams versus the 148, so yeah, the SC is not the lightest phone on the block, but for its size. It's much lighter, obviously than something this large over here, but in terms of looks the galaxy a52 is much better. Looking in my opinion, it looks much more.

You know up to date than this phone right here. This was more akin to something like the iPhone 10r, the iPhone 11, those phones. It feels more like that in terms of modern, whereas this feels rather iPhone 6 days iPhone 8 days over here on the right now, where the galaxy a52 pulls way ahead is the display. So this has a 6.5 inch super AMOLED, 90 hertz display. Now you can get this with 120 hertz.

If you go with the 5g version, the version we're reviewing here is the regular a52. This one does come with the 90, but even 90 hertz is a major improvement over 60 hertz displays, and especially the a51 that came before this, but this does have 407 PPI and a pretty close to all screen. We do have kind of chunky. Bezels on this one compared to the more premium s line of phones, but I don't think it's going to bother too many users. It didn't bother people on things like iPhone 10r, and I don't think it's going to bother people here on this phone now the iPhone has a pretty darn good display as well.

However, it only gets to 625 nits. This one can get up to 800, nits 4.7 inches, so pretty small, but you know what you're getting if you get a SC you're looking for a little more compact size, this one does have your traditional 16x9 aspect ratio. So what that means is that it's a wider display versus a tall and skinny display. Now it does have a pretty sharp resolution at 326 PPI. So if you are reading some Apple news or whatever it's going to be pretty sharp to the eye, especially on the smaller screen, but as you go up, it starts to look a little.

You know less sharp. I would say that the sharper screen is definitely the galaxy a52 at 407 PPI. However, you do have true tone on here, but remember: Samsung did bring the comfort shield to the newer galaxy devices. You can see it right here. This is basically a perfect competitor to the true tone on the iPhone.

So you do have that here now as well, I would say in terms of overall display the galaxy a52 is a clear winner over here versus look at these bezels. I mean top and bottom look at this, not even close, so you're definitely going to pick the a52. If you want the better display now when it comes to software, it couldn't be more different. We're talking about one UI three over here versus iOS 14. We don't really get to compare these much, you kind of know which one do you want? Do you want the polished applications? Do you want iMessage? Do you want to facetime pick the iPhone SE? There's no doubt about it right there.

Do you want customization? Do you want all the features you can get? Look at this if we go down here to advanced features, they're loading, this thing up with features. In addition, not only that even on this cheaper phone, you can do split screen, you can do app pairs. You have all of this feature and functionality, even on the galaxy a52 and the iPhone basically simple, just like the other iPhones over here. So definitely, I would say pick up the Samsung. If you want to have more fun with the phone, you want more features.

Functionality pick up the iPhone. If you want simplicity- and you just count on the ecosystem like iMessage FaceTime and all the applications that you might have bought within this app store. So definitely that's how to pick in terms of the software and when it comes to performance. This is where the iPhone SE starts to pull ahead. So this phone does have the Apple A13 bionic chipset, that's a 7 nanometer CPU, whereas the galaxy a 52 has a snapdragon 720 or a 732 g.

I have a 732g in this one, the processors change, depending on, if you go with the 4g LTE or the 5g version, which gives you 750g, but I've been looking at the benchmarks and even the 750g doesn't bench too much higher than the platform here, it's slightly better, so I still notice that the galaxy a series here, especially this a52 and maybe below this- has a little of delay. Now it is 90 hertz. So it's super smooth, but it's definitely functional, but I do notice that the apps they do take a little longer, sometimes than what I find on the premium phones, but it's definitely way better than what I've seen on the a51. So it's a nice upgrade over that phone, but even with 60 hertz, the iPhone is just faster. It's a faster phone and even though it's not 90, it's actually a little smoother in the animation.

So I would say pick up the SE of these two. If you want the better performance, if you want the smoother display, of course, you're going to go with the a52, but the software itself is better. It's a little more snappy, I think, on the SC. So the SC is the choice for me and the performance round between these two. So when it comes to storage, the Samsung is the better value off the bat. This gives you 128 gigs to start and micro SD card expansion, it's kind of annoying that they put it on the series, but we don't get it on the s21 ultra. This one starts at 64, and you're going to pay an extra 50 or so to get that 128. You can get it up to 256 gigs and this phone right here, the a52 you can get into 56, gigs, so I'd say the Samsung's, the winner in storage, just because this phone is gonna, give you. You know that micro SD card expansion giving you the ability to expand it for a longer period of time, all right.

So, let's get on to the camera- and I actually took these out- I'm going to show you some side-by-side samples, but basically what I've noticed between both of these phones is one key conclusion here. The a52 is much more feature packed, and it's way more fun to shoot with, because you have the ultra-wide angle. You have this zoom in function where you could go up to 10x right here. In addition, you have a macro lens on here, so you can go to this macro mode right here, and you can get super close on things. It's really fun to use this camera right here in the galaxy a52.

Now I did notice some shutter lag on the a52. Sometimes it will just delay a little, but the front-facing camera was also pretty good at 32 megapixels for this phone it could do 4k at 30 in video, so it's not better than the SE, as this can do 4k 60, but it can do 4k 30, and I think overall, with the super steady, you have just a lot of creative potential. Even though this is a cheaper phone there's a lot, you can do with it. If you go to more, we still have food modes night modes. Portrait modes- I mean there's a lot.

You can play with it's a huge camera setup here, four lenses on the rear there and then over here. You have one front now: the SC, where the SC shines is that I think it just has some better results, sometimes, or you just don't have to do nothing very well-balanced colors. The video definitely shines over the a52. If you're looking for better quality video, the iPhone SC for this money is some of the best you're going to get iPhones just know what to do with the video. They just know how to make it accurate balance, and it just works.

Every time. There's no shutter lag on this phone portrait mode. Panoramic. Everything is simple: easy to use single camera on the rear for the SC, so you just got to decide how much of a camera user you are now the front of the SC also pretty well-balanced colors. However, the megapixel range is definitely lower on this phone at 7 megapixels and this can't shoot 4k on the front only 1080 at 30.

, so it kind of feels kind of like older iPhones, but still a lot you can do with the SC. I would say pick the SC's camera. If you want the simple easy results, pick the galaxy a52. If you want more fun, you want more creative control. You want zoom, you want ultra-wide and check out these samples side by side, and let me know what you think produce the better results: okay, guys so the audio for the a52 available stereo speakers, but they don't sound the best I mean come on.

It's its a mid-ranger. It's the lower mid-range, it's not like the high-end Fe or even the galaxy s20 has 21. So we don't expect the best here officially available right off the bat. The iPhone SE sounds way better than the a52, so for stereo, sound and audio. The SE sounds way better, but check this out.

Headphone jack. That's something you're not getting on many phones, but this one provides it to you here in the galaxy a52. Now an area where the a52 stomps all over the sea is the battery life, a much larger 4, 500 William hour battery versus a 1821, and it's not just that it's bigger it actually lasts quite a bit longer. This is one of the worst battery life iPhones out right now, the SE and you kind of know that, because you're getting a small cell in here this one right here, definitely makes it the whole day. Also, you know, because it's a larger size, it should hold up in terms of longevity a little longer than this one.

This one might need a battery replacement before the a52 is what I'm trying to say, and I also want to mention that the way you unlock these phones is actually quite similar. You have a fingerprint down here and Samsung moved the fingerprint down. So you have one down here, but it's underneath the display again feels more modern than using this physical touch ID right here, but I will say that I think touch ID is slightly more accurate. I found myself to miss a few more times on the a52 versus DSE. Lastly, when it comes to phone call, quality mobile connectivity, of course, there is a 5g version of the a52, so that gives it the win automatically over the SC, but the SC.

If you buy the regular a52, it's 4g LTE, 4g LTE, both of them have pretty good reception. I find the Samsung to be a little better at holding the bars, but the iPhone SE is fine as well. So no major issues here, which one is the better value. I think customers are going to be a little more impressed by the a52 in terms of what are what they're getting for the money. They're going to be a little annoyed by the fact that they don't have the fastest speed in the world.

I don't think it's going to give you that, but I think you'll be able to let these sacrifices go not having the best cameras, but still having a lot of fun with all four of these you'll, you'll be able to let a few more things slide on the a52 because of everything else. You're getting this big, beautiful, OLED display a big battery. You know, at least you have four cameras you're having a lot of what flagships offer this one right here. While it is giving you flagship grade, processor flagship grade camera, it's definitely not giving you the most modern look in design and only one flagship camera. We don't have multiple cameras.

It just feels like an old phone right from the start, with a very fast engine under the hood, that's kind of how I could describe it. If I could only pick one of these two, I probably would get the a52 5g over this regular one pay that a little more to get that one over the SC. Just because there's just so much more on offer here, but I do think apple should bring a bigger iPhone. Se version, and I think that if you want an Apple iPhone on the cheap, and you don't care about all this stuff, you just want a cheap iPhone with the iOS experience.
