Android phones have had fast charging forever, but believe it or not. The iPhone, 8 8, plus and 10 are the first iPhones to get fast charging along with wireless charging due to Apple going back to the glass design which I'll look at in another video. All these other phones here come with fast charging bricks and cords in the box, but the iPhones do not for this test. I'm using the 29 watt, Apple USB charging brick and the USB c2, lightning, cable, so off the bat you'll have to spend some money to make this work for the iPhones, which sucks in my opinion, but to make things fair, I'm, going to run all the Chargers off of one power strip, and I'm going to put everything into airplane mode. So we can get the fastest charge out of all these phones in this video I want to compare how fast the new iPhone, 8, plus fast charges to the best out there in the Android space I have the Galaxy Note 8, the HTC? U 11 and also the 1 plus 5, which has ? charging the fastest charging times that I've seen on a mobile phone so far, so let's plug all these up and set the timer for 30 minutes, and we will see which one charges the fastest ok. So let's do a quick, 15 minute test, so the 1 + 5 already has 30%, which is impressive, and the iPhone actually has 29%, which really surprised me.
This is much faster than I thought and the note 8 only has 18 percent charge, so not as impressive here and the HTC. U 11 also has a very surprising 28 % with the quick charge 3.0 and the note 8 I still think uses quick charge 2.0 with adaptive charging. So let's keep it going, and we'll check it again after 30 minutes all right. Well, the 30 minutes is up and what I'm going to do is reset it for another 30 minutes, because I want to see if any of these phones can actually get to a hundred percent. In one hour, the 1+5 has a 62% charge already, which is incredible, and the iPhone 8 plus has 53%, which is exactly what they claimed on the spec sheet.
So that's nice to see, and the note eight only has a 36% charge. So, let's hope it catches up later and the HTC. U 11 has a 57 percent charge which places it in second place so far and that's a surprise from the results here. It looks like the new iPhone has about the same charting speeds as quick charge 3.0. So that's not bad whatsoever.
So let's keep charging for another 30 minutes and see what they are at in one hour. Okay, I lied, so let's check 45 minutes and the 1 plus 5 is at 85% after 45 minutes that ? charge is kicking ass and the iPhone 8 plus is at 73%, which is also pretty impressive. The note 8 is only at 52%, so not superfast and the HTC. U 11 is at 71%. So let's keep going, so 60 minutes is up, and I'm going to stop the clock here.
The 1 + 5 is at 96%, which is almost at a hundred. So that's incredible. The iPhone is at 82%, which is very respectable and fast charging looks like a go for the new iPhone lineup and the note 8 is at 69%, which surprises me a little. I thought it would perform a little better and the HTC. U 11 is at 85%, which makes it the second fastest in this test.
So quick disclaimer after this test was over I realized. I didn't put the iPhone eight plus into airplane mode, but there is no sim in here. There are no counts on it. No mail, nothing! Everything on setup was skipped, so I didn't see any reason to redo this test. Plus most people will probably be charging with everything on so just give or take a few percent here.
So it still looks like the 1 plus 5s ? charging is the fastest for right now. It was also the coolest to the touch compared to the others after the charging test. So overall I'm impressed with the new fast charging capabilities of the new iPhones. It just sucks that you have to fork out extra dollars for it, but it looks like it's up there with the Android flagship. So that's nice, thanks for watching thumbs up.
