What's up guys, Philips tech here coming back at you with another video today we're going to be doing a comparison between the Samsung Galaxy a02s and the Samsung Galaxy a52. So, let's get started the Samsung Galaxy a02s has a six and a half inch pl sips lcd with a resolution of 720p a PPI of 270, an aspect ratio of 20 by nine and a screen to body ratio of 81.8 percent. We got a water drop notch here for the front-facing camera and for a water drop notch. It doesn't really look very bad. Usually these notches are a little intrusive and make the general design of the phone look really messy, but this one really isn't too bad. So I can't complain too much.
This camera is five megapixels. The Samsung Galaxy a52 has a six and a half inch super AMOLED display with a 90 hertz refresh rate. It's got a resolution of 1080p a PPI of 407, an aspect ratio of 20 by 9 and a screen to body ratio of 84.6. We got a hole punch here for the front-facing camera and this camera is 32 megapixels. As far as the front-facing cameras go, I do think the a52 has a much better look.
It looks a lot cleaner and more modern, whereas the water drop notch on the a02s, even though it doesn't look bad for water drop notch really in comparison to a phone with a hole. Punch camera doesn't quite look as good now. That being said, both of the phones do have a nice sleek, modern design that I'm a big fan of both of them have more matte materials. On the back that don't pick up too many fingerprints, you can see a little of something on this one, but it's really not bad in comparison to those glossy ones. So, overall, I am a big fan of both of these phones.
Appearance wise, as you can tell by the megapixel count. The Samsung Galaxy a52 is gonna, have a higher quality camera than the Samsung Galaxy a02s. Now for storage, the Samsung Galaxy a02s has 64 gigabytes of internal storage with micros card expansion, really impressive for such an entry-level phone. A lot of the phones around this price range have only 32 gigabytes and sometimes in certain rare occasions as little as 16, which I think is insane in this day and age. Apps are getting larger and larger and having a lot of storage is getting more and more important, whether you're an average user or a power user.
It doesn't even matter anymore. Sometimes less is more, but in the case of storage, more is honestly more, and it's always good to have as much as you can get now. The Samsung Galaxy a52 actually has 128 gigabytes of internal storage, also with micros card expansion. So even though the Samsung Galaxy a02s does have an impressive amount of storage, the a52 simply has more with double the size. You're going to get a lot more space out of this one, so I would say, if you're an average user, then it doesn't really matter.
You'll be fine with the a02s, but if you're a power user definitely take the step-up and go with the a52, because in your situation, if you're doing a lot of things that take up a lot of space like shooting, high quality photos and videos or playing games, if you have lots of apps on the phone and that sort of thing that extra 64 gigabytes of internal storage is really going to be a benefit, neither of these phones have wireless charging, but both of them do have faced unlock and the Samsung Galaxy a52 also has a fingerprint scanner in the display. So that's really nice, let's go ahead and give it a try there. We go real good one more time and there we go so, as you can see the Samsung Galaxy a52's, fingerprint scanner was really fast and responsive. Now the a02s does have faced unlock, even though it doesn't have a fingerprint scanner. So if you prefer face unlock, then this shouldn't be an issue for you.
But if you do want both options face unlock and a fingerprint scanner, then the a52 is going to be a better option for that, since it does have both now taking a look at the rear camera setups here, the Samsung Galaxy a02s has a 13 megapixel, rear camera, a 2, megapixel depth, sensing camera and a two megapixel macro camera. So not bad. I do wish it had an ultrawide camera, though, because honestly, a macro camera isn't nearly as useful, but at least it does have a decent setup. The Samsung Galaxy a52, on the other hand, has a quad camera setup with a 64 megapixel rear camera, a 12 megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 5 megapixel depth, sensing camera and a 5 megapixel macro camera, so camera wise, the Samsung Galaxy a52 is better in every way. I'm going to show you a quick photo sample just so you can see the difference.
So, as you can see here, the one on the left is, of course, a picture taken by the rear camera of the Samsung Galaxy a02s, and it doesn't look bad, but I wouldn't say it's really that impressive. If you're using your camera more on a casual basis, maybe a couple social media posts here and there, if you're not too concerned with the quality, then it should be fine, but anything else is probably going to be a little disappointing. The picture on the right taken by the rear camera of the a52 is a lot higher quality you're going to be able to do a lot more with this camera. If you're posting for social media constantly and like to have the best quality pictures you can get or if you're taking pictures for something else, that's a little more important, then the Samsung Galaxy a52 is definitely going to be the better choice. As far as the camera goes for video, the Samsung Galaxy a02s can shoot video and quality up to 1080p in both the rear and front cameras.
The Samsung Galaxy a52, on the other hand, is able to shoot 4k in the rear and front cameras if you're only shooting a video sometimes for a casual purpose. That's not really that important. The Samsung Galaxy a02s is gonna, be completely fine, but the Samsung Galaxy a52 is gonna, be a lot better if you're shooting videos for a more important occasion, anything really professional or if you just want the ability to shoot in 4k. It's going to be perfect for that. Internally, the Samsung Galaxy a02s is getting four gigabytes of ram with the Qualcomm snapdragon 450 processors.
I ran a geek bench 5 benchmark test on this phone, and it came back with a single core score of 129 and a multi-core score of 488. So from this you can definitely tell the processor is really not made for very intense activities for basic things like sending text messages making calls browsing the web going on social media and streaming videos, it's going to be fine, but if you're trying to do something more intense like gaming or video editing, it's probably going to struggle quite a bit now the Samsung Galaxy a52 is getting six gigabytes of ram with the Qualcomm snapdragon 720 g processor. I ran a geek bench 5 benchmark test on this phone as well, and it came back with a single core score of 538 and a multi-core score of 15.59. So really night and day, the single core score of the Samsung Galaxy a52 is actually greater than the multi-core score of the a02s. So you can tell the Samsung Galaxy a52 is made for a lot more intense activities, pretty much anything you do on the a52 is going to be faster and feel better than on the a02s.
That's not to say the a02s doesn't have its purpose because for just basic activities, you're really not going to need the processing power of the a52, but keep in mind if you're planning on doing something like serious gaming except Fortnite. There is a video of me testing Fortnite on the Samsung Galaxy a52 on my channel, and it didn't do the greatest, but anything other than that is gonna, be pretty good versus the Samsung Galaxy a02s, even though it can handle basic mobile games actually, surprisingly. Well, when it comes to things that require a lot of processing power, it's not going to do the best. So, to give you a better idea of how fast these phones are in real life practice, I'm going to do a quick demonstration, we're going to open the browser. So, as you can see there, the Samsung Galaxy a52 did pull up quite a bit faster than the a02s.
Now we're going to try a website and, as you could see there, the a52 again pulled up the website significantly faster than the a02s. Now, while there are a few factors that could influence that outcome, the difference in speed during that demonstration is significant enough to conclude the Samsung Galaxy a52 is definitely faster than the easier 2s and that's really just the tip of the iceberg. Something basic like browsing. The web isn't gonna, show the difference as much as actually having the phones in real life and using them on a regular basis. So just know if you're looking for a phone just to do basic activities with and don't plan on doing much else, then the Samsung Galaxy a02 is going to be perfectly fine.
But if you do want to do a little more, if you're going to be doing stuff like gaming, video, editing and more intense web browsing or social media use, then the Samsung Galaxy a52 is gonna, be the better option. Battery wise the Samsung Galaxy a02s does have a little of an advantage with a 5000 William hour battery versus the a52 with a 4500 William hour battery. The difference isn't huge, but it is there. If battery life is the most important thing to you or among them, then the Samsung Galaxy a02s might be a little more appealing now in conclusion, which one of these phones is actually better in every aspect except the battery. The Samsung Galaxy a52 is definitely going to be the better device.
It has not only a much better display with a super AMOLED versus a pl sips LCD. The colors are a lot brighter and more high quality. The 90 hertz refresh rate makes movement on the screen a lot faster on the a52 versus the a02s, and it's all around going to be a better experience for stuff like content consumption. The 52 also has double the storage, a much faster processor and a much better camera, and a lot of features that the Samsung Galaxy a02s just doesn't have. But on the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy azure 2s first, has a slightly bigger battery.
So if that's important to you, if you're on the go a lot and can't always charge your phone, this might be a factor for you, but also for daily basic use. If you're not really doing anything special, then you might not actually need the processing power and extra features that the Samsung Galaxy a52 offers. So, at the end of the day, if you're looking for a phone just to do basic activities with like sending text messages browsing the web making calls maybe going on social media here and there, and you're not much of a camera user, then the Samsung Galaxy is your 2s is going to be perfectly fine for you. But if you do like to shoot high quality photos and videos a lot, maybe you do a lot of content, consumption or gaming or if you have a lot of apps and that sort of thing, then the Samsung Galaxy a52 is gonna, be a better option. But I hope you guys enjoyed the video if you did be sure to leave a thumbs up and subscribe, and I'll see you in the next one.
