Hi guys it's Frankie from Frankie tech good to see you guys again, and I'm here to share my better late than never unboxing and impressions of this Redmi Note 10 5g, and then I want to do a quick comparison of this phone next to the realm 85g, which I think is the direct competitor to this phone. Is this the best low-cost 5g phone on the market? Let's have a look, so here are the details of the unit, that's Xiaomi, semi, the note 10 5g, graphite, gray, four gigs of ram 128 gigs of storage. Let's go ahead and lift the lid here we go designed by Redmi set that aside- and here it is the Redmi Note, 10, 5g and quick summary of the specs. We have a MediaTek density 700, a seven nanometer process, and this is a pretty decent mid-range chipset. In my testing guys, we also have a 6.5 inch, 90 hertz, dot display it is LCD, but it does have a 360 ambient light sensor, a 48 megapixel, triple camera with macro and depth lenses, and we have a 5 000?m battery with 18 watt fast charging. So let's set this aside and show you what's inside the box, we have our USA to USB charging cable, and we have our standard European plug 18 watt charger, and now, let's unwrap this phone and share my first impressions of this Redmi Note, 10 5g all right, an initial impression.
I can tell you I'm glad to see that we have a mat back on this phone now. This is feeling like plastic, but I will tell you: there's still this nice kind of glow to it, and the edges also have this kind of matte texture. Overall, it feels kind of like the edges of the Redmi Note 10 pro, let's go ahead and turn this bad boy on share my first impressions, and then we'll jump into the realm 85g, quick comparison, and so here we are fully set up on the Redmi Note, 10, 5g and in terms of design. Like I mentioned guys, this does feel a little less premium than some of the other devices we've seen from Redmi. Of course, given its price point, you would expect that, and it's still solidly built and yes, there is a 3.5, millimeter, headphone jack and an iron blaster as well. Now this 6.5 inch display the key highlight here is the 90 hertz refresh rate, and that does make a difference and yet still guys, I'm noticing a little of bank here and there, maybe it's just because the device was just turned on. But the good news is you see, an update is already available to 12.0.3. So I will be downloading that update very soon and all in all design and display it's kind of reminding me of the Redmi Note 9t 5g.
You guys remember that one and that phone just like this one is not the most premium build quality. But I guess that's not the point of this phone. The point of this phone is about the 5g capability at this low cost, and there you see with four gigs of ram. You have the density 700 on board, which I did test on the Realme 85g and actually performed better than I expected in the 350 000 range 4n, t2 scores, which is not bad, considering where phones were even a year ago now in terms of audio. I'm not sure if this is dual speakers, but of course the 3.5 millimeter headphone jack is going to be a welcome sight for a lot of you out there and last but not least, is your classic Frankie tech camera shot as a first look and the one thing I'm immediately noticing guys no ultra-wide on this phone. Now, I'm not sure if that decision was because of the price point, but I will tell you I'm kind of missing the ultra-wide on this phone.
I would expect that at any price point in this day and age that you could get an ultra-wide camera- and this is not just a gripe to this Redmi Note 10 5g. I also complained about this with the real me. Eight 5g, which I was surprised to see, did not include an ultra-wide as well, but since I have it right here, let's go ahead and now do this quick comparison, starting with design between these phones- and you know what it's almost like. Both Redmi and Realme were challenging each other to try to deliver the lowest cost 5g phone on the market, and so in terms of build it's nothing too spectacular from both of these, but I will say I do like the Redmi Note.10 5gs finish a bit more than this glossy finish on the Realme 85gs and pretty similar size phones. There.
You see the footprint of these two and in terms of display you can definitely see LCD on both phones. The realm a5g looks a little warmer, which I actually do like and there's something about the colors on the note 10 5g that look a little washed out. I don't know how to explain it, but it definitely just looks a little more washed out, but considering their price point, I think both phones deliver with serviceable 6.5 inch displays, and you can really choose which punch hole, location. You prefer some of you guys will like the centered one. Some of you guys will like the left-handed one, but the chins are going to be almost identical in size on both of these phones, but the similarities continue in performance as well, because there you see it to men city 700 on this Realme a5g and, of course, this phone is running with eight gigs of ram, while the note 10 5g is only running four gigs, and that is a concern guy.
I think at this point six gigs is the minimum amount of ram that you want to expect in your phone these days and while I think in general use this phone should be alright, I think, if you're doing more, CPU, intensive or ram intensive activities like gaming or any slight photo or video editing using the camera, you may run into issues with that limited ram. On the note, 10 5g, and so when it comes to performance, I'll, take the extra four gigs and the same dimension 700, and I do think that this realm a5g will probably offer you the smoother more buttery experience. Also, because, let's face it, real me, UI is actually a much leaner software than me UI and on lower ram phones. You definitely will start noticing it in terms of audio. I think it's single bottom firing speakers on both of these, but there is 3.5 millimeter headphone jacks on both the Realme a5g and the Redmi Note 10 5g, and we have a very similar camera set up.48 megapixel main cameras on both of these phones. You can see the shutter there on the real me.
A5G, though, is a little faster. That could be a ram issue at play there. But of course neither of these phones- which I think is just a mistake. Neither of these phones have the ultra-wide camera and I think that was a missed opportunity to just remove those other crappy macro and portrait cameras and just give me two cameras, the main and the ultra-wide. I think most people would have been happy with that, but I think the key guys with both of these phones is that both Redmi and realm have been able to bring 5g to an even lower price point in both this Redmi Note, 10 5g, and this Realme 85g, and yet I can't help but get this feeling that not just Redmi but Realme both missed the mark with these releases and to be honest, just judging by the audience reaction, judging by your interest in both of these phones, you guys feel the same way, and so, unlike my typical final verdict, I want to leave it to you guys, and I want you to hit me up in the comments.
These phones are very similar in many ways. But what are the things? What are the things you would have liked to see in this Redmi Note, 10 5g or in this Realme a5g that you think they got wrong. Look if I think you still want to get the lowest cost 5g option in a phone. These are two worthy options to consider, but at the same time we also have polo, which will soon be releasing their Poco m3 pro 5g, and that may be a phone similar to these. But with an even better price point.
That's just going to undercut the market once again, we'll wait and see what happens, but for now I guess, if you're looking for the lowest cost 5g option on the market, then you have two options here in the Redmi Note: 10 5g and the Realme 85g, but give me up in the comments. Redmi Note, 105g or real me, a 5g which would you pick hit me up in the comments? I'd love to hear about it and that's it for this video. If you liked it give me that thumbs up and if you love the content of Frankie tech subscribe to the channel, hit the bell icon for future updates. So we shall see guys what happens with this Poco m3 pro 5g, and maybe it will be the best option of these three phones to pick up if they hit that price point right on. So that's it, and this is where I leave you by saying this is Frankie tech signing off have a good one.
At least it's got a map back that I do like you.
