Otterbox Symmetry Clear Case for Google Pixel 5 Unboxing and Review By Big Unbox

What is up guys welcome to the big unbox, where we do that small tech and today, I'm back with another big unboxing for you for the pixel 5, and today we're back with a case from otter box. This is going to be called the symmetry clear series to unbox do a quick review. As always, you know, throw up the link in the video description. If you want to check it out, pricing is really steep on this one. I don't really know how they justify that price point. It's like 49 bucks look around.

I think I was able to get it for 40. Like like 10 off, which is still very expensive, but it puts it into more range with the tech 21, which is currently my favorite clear case for your pixel 5, because I really like this one a lot, but again we're going to check this one out to see if it's a hit or miss price point. Retails, 50, bucks, very expensive presentation looks good, got a little otter box. Branding symmetry series you can see, tells you all about the uh drop protection, all that good stuff. Let's get right to it.

To see if it's a hit or a miss for your brand-new pixel 5. , I don't even know if it's brand new at this point and depending on when you guys got it. This has been out for a little while now um. Obviously the kind of controversy on when in the pixel 6 is going to be released. Like you know what specs are going to have lots of stuff going on with that, but I actually really like the pixel 5 for what it is.

I wish they had the top-of-the-line specs, but for what it is, I'm pretty much a fan of this particular phone. The size, wise perfect, like the fingerprint sensor, a lot of good stuff to say about this particular phone. Don't have any gripes about this one at all. Let's go and check it out crystal clear case: hard shell plastic back transitions to kind of like a, can see a frosted kind of tint to the sides which actually will help with yellowing, so you're not going to eat quite as much yellow because of that frosted interior of the actual bumper part. So that's pretty.

Nice got a little of flex to it. One thing I really noticed: first thing: I, like the fingerprint sensor, you can see how it's kind of like a, can see. It's like a guided fingerprint sensor, so it's like a smooth transition where it's not quite just the drop-off like this one. Have this is the uh tech 21. You can see just the easy.

It's just a pretty. You know drop off to the fingerprint sensor, but this one is a nice smooth transition to it, but we'll check it out. It looks pretty nice as well. You should get some big boy protection for this one, but let's go and check to see if it's going to be a hit for your pixel 5, that black look good, wipe it down, wipe it down like it should clean it up. Real nice for the camera might as well give the uh the crystal clear, a nice little layer, because I think every time I get a clear case.

I love them when I first put them on, but a couple of days later I find like dirt and dust that I want to take it off and wipe it down, wipe it down. That's just me: I want to keep it looking clean for the camera. Let's go and check it out here, though pop it into place like that snaps right into place, wipe it down again all right. There we go so there you go. That's how it's going to look very nice g popping through finger princess, which I'm really curious about yeah.

I like that, a lot that actually probably the smoothest fingerprint sensor transition that I felt really like the way that is. You can see right there just how it is just that the little attention to detail you don't always get from otter box on a case like this, so it's a smooth transition. It feels natural to the touch that I really, really like this a lot very nice grip to it. Camera protection looks good. You can see the actual little extra layer, camera protection right there, so no issues at all.

One thing. I've noticed- and I've said this in the past videos. One thing I noticed about their clear case, specifically the symmetry series is that it does get scratched up, whereas the tech 21 which to me this is a direct competition. This is 40 bucks. This retails for 50.

, this kind of holds the scratches to a minimum. You get some of them, but I feel like in the past the cases that I've reviewed from otter box for this symmetry you see the back of it, gets scratched up for the clear cases now to me when you're spending that type of cash it shouldn't scratch that easy, not after a few weeks or a couple of months, maybe after a few months, three four months, five months, six months- yeah, maybe but not after like a month of use- hopefully this one will do better. I will use this because of the actual fingerprint sensor. I really like that. Let's go check out the lip because everybody likes a fat lip.

I like the lip protection as well fat lip you can see edge to edge, and it curves in look at that fat. Lip. That's probably good view. It for you guys no issues at all, I'm rocking a screen protector, so you got full edges protection. You got full lip nicely done.

Very good, got a little otter box branding right there, subtle and clean speakers. Look good power looks good, very nicely done: uh power, uh, it's a little stiff volume up and down same thing stiff now. One thing I'm not sure why they did this. I think they've kind of done away with these buttons they're using the same exact material as this particular side, so they're not switching out the buttons. These buttons are super stiff, whereas the tech 21 they actually use different buttons.

They actually apply a different button on top of it like a plastic button, that's not the same. Material and otter box has been doing this one for a little while now they cheaper out on this particular case by not switching out the buttons, and they're pretty stiff and non-responsive, which I hate, and then you can see right. There looks good as well so overall, some good things about this one, some bad things about this love. The fingerprint sensor love the overall protection hate. The price like the lip protection, the buttons, are trash.

So for that price point I just can't recommend this to most people, there's a lot of better cases out there for your pixel 5. , so I would say, hold off on this one. Maybe if you really have you know for 40 bucks, it's a better value. The tec-21 is a better value. If you're looking to save some cash, probably want to look for the speaking rob, that's only about 15 bucks.
