What's up guys, this is Sammy geek back here with a quick video. This is my favorite format. This is where I talk to you guys chilling in the car uh, and this is uncut. These are the five reasons that I am not going to buy. The OnePlus watch with two caveats that I want to start with number one that you guys know. I probably know I'm going to say this already, but I'm a big Samsung fan.
Clearly I am rocking the Samsung watch active, 2 and uh. You guys have also known that I am willing to try anything out there. I've tried the Garmin's. I've tried all the fit bits. Furthermore, I've made videos on this stuff, but for whatever reason I just go back to the Samsung, I think the bells and the whistles of how Samsung integrates their watches with their phones is really tough to beat.
So I continue to fall back on them. You guys can check out some of my other videos where I've done reviews um on these other watches, and I legitimately have tried every Fitbit. Every Garmin, the cheap to the expensive, tried everything and I go back to Samsung it's interesting. So that's number one. I think that's an important note or caveat number two, you guys, I'm not hating on the OnePlus watch.
I was actually really excited. Furthermore, I was going to buy one. Furthermore, I was going to try one. Furthermore, I was dead set on wanting to get one, but I started reading some early reviews and I started thinking about some pros and cons and here's how I ended up with the five. But again before I say this.
Anyone out there that's gonna, buy one of these watches more power to you. I hope they sell a million of these things and I hope that they're wildly successful with the OnePlus watch. I hope anyone that purchases one loves it and thinks it's the best thing ever um. That is leads me down to the path of the reason I want to talk about this today is because these are my items. Why I'm not going to buy it, and you guys might agree number one.
It is glitchy. All the early reviews are saying that this watch is glitchy and a watch coming out in 2021 look think about my Samsung watch right now. This watch has a little of glitch to it from time to time. I don't know if I'm swiping too fast or doing something, but I occasionally notice a glitchy screen, or it hangs up or lags when I press button, it's just you learn to live with it. Why would I want to trade in my Samsung watch for another watch? That does the same.
Damn thing. So that's number one number two, it's too new, it's kind of has to do with number one, but it's a little too new of technology, not technology, but it's its the first watch from this brand that is probably going to need several updates before it's very polished and why even mess with that. At this point the thing looks and feels already like a galaxy watch active I mean from a distance. You probably couldn't tell the difference, and it just feels like what am I going to go out and spend 150 bucks for uh when I'm already rocking the watch active too, I mean there's just I don't know change into here. I have a watch.
That's two years old, it's gonna! That's has a little of itchiness to it. I'm going to upgrade to a 2021 watch with the same amount of grittiness. It just doesn't make sense. Number three is a huge dealbreaker for me. This is me personally.
I don't know if you guys know this or not, but some of you guys that are rocking Samsung phones with Samsung watches. You might recognize this, but it is the uh timer function and the notification function. When you get a timer notification or an alarm or something like that, and you have a Samsung phone and a Samsung watch, you actually get a notification on your watch which allows you to silence the alarm or snooze the alarm or shut it off entirely. And I freaking love that if my phone is in the other room and my tesla's vibrating on me, I think my batteries are going to explode um. So the uh when, when my phone is in sitting in the other room and uh, I'm able to silence the notification, and that is to me that's freaking, priceless and when I'm in bed.
If I decide to snooze, I can kind of just grab my wrist and slide the right in the watch. I don't have to grab at my phone, it's freaking, awesome and uh. So for me, I've tried the Garmin's, and I've tried the fit bits and I lost that functionality. And so I don't know if I want to give that up- and this is going to lead me to number four, which is equally important. So Samsung is about to drop the new uh.
Well, they're saying this summer anyway, they're supposed to drop the new galaxy watch active, which I'm guessing will be the watch active three, and it will be the new watch. What would it be, then? I guess it'd be the new four, so the galaxy watches are going to reload, and they're supposed to drop two of them. At the same time, the watch active and the regular galaxy watch so depending on what kind of flavor of the watch that you like, but that is supposed to happen this summer, they're saying and uh. So I don't know here we sit in April and I can wait two or three months for a Samsung watch because Samsung you guys got to play catch up man, because some of these batteries out there they're just starting to destroy you. You've got one plus coming up on your tail with better battery technology.
You guys better uh, get your act together, but I have faith, and it's coming soon. So that is a reason for me personally now again, if you're in the market cool go, try one but uh for someone like me, you're, probably gonna, hang tight. So next up number five. Oh, this is an interesting one, because I'm reading some reviews saying it takes forever to upload um files like podcasts and music and stuff like that, and that I'm not too happy about that. So I guess what I want to say is that my watches recently have had the ability to have um Spotify, so I can download the Spotify playlists.
I'm not, I'm not sure if I'm willing to give that up, which obviously that takes me away from like the maze fit and it kind of takes me away from several brands. But it locks me in really with like Fitbit Garmin and then of course Samsung. So but it's an important piece. I don't want to sit here and take you know two hours to put a playlist on my freaking watch, then miss a workout or something right. So I've got a bonus number six, but this one's interesting.
So some reviews are saying it's a huge watch, and it's a 46 millimeter watch, but here's the interesting part. Okay, it's got a 1.4 1.4-inch screen, which is the same exact size screen that the watch active 2 has, but the watch ACTA 2 in the large variant is 44 millimeters. So what does that tell you about the body to screen ratio? I mean I mean now again guys we're talking about a two-year-old watch versus something that's dropping in 2021 and in order to have a 1.4-inch screen. You've got to have a 46 millimeter case. Like I don't know again, it feels like.
I know: you're going to pay you're paying you're getting a discount. It's a discounted watch, it's an it's an it's a budget watch, but you feel like in 2021. You're going to get something a little stronger. So again that brings me kind of to like number one and number two again so to round it out guys again, I'm not hating on the watch, but I wanted to share with you the five reasons that I am not going to purchase it. I hope that you find some value in this video um hang in their guys there's going to be a bunch, more watches, launching in the next coming.
You know throughout this year we're probably going to see some more Garmin's. I know I'm very excited to see what Samsung comes up with uh. You guys, hang tight, I'm going to be putting out some more videos, and I'm going to be doing some direct comparison when these new Samsung watches launch you bet, I'm gonna, be all over this. This is um my jam. These are my watches, so I'll be reporting thanks, guys, and I'll catch up soon.
Peace out.
