How are they managing to do all of that plus we'll talk a little about something very, very important to all of you. Yoga can apps and your phone really get you to be better at yoga. All of that on the sail guru show and before we get started with all of that. Here's the news coming in from the world of mobiles 5g is around the corner and Erickson has some interesting facts for you. According to Erickson mobility report, 5g subscriptions had grown by 70 million during the first quarter of 2021, owing to more 5g enabled smartphones in the market in India, by 2026, 5g will represent around 26 of the users, which is estimated to be 300 million.5G adoption is increasing at a rapid rate, adding around 1 million users per day and is bound to surpass even more with time. Xiaomi is set to launch the mi 11 lite in India on 22nd June.
The smartphone is already available globally. Xiaomi is marketing the 11 lite as the lightest and slimmest smartphone. It is 6.8 mm thick and weighs just 157 grams, which is sleeker and lighter than most smartphones. We will review the me11 light once it is launched in India. I want to start off today with very important topic, and why is it important well one? It affects all of our second.
It actually is a topic that has the maximum number of questions that have been sent in by all of you in the last few weeks. This is all about the Indian government asking for all messages to be traceable on messaging platforms. So what does this really mean? For you? Is this good for you? How does it help what's the purpose behind it see? This is a very, very simple topic, but it's needlessly being made very complex by a lot of people. I've got to break it down very simply for you, so the Indian government wants traceability, as in who was the first person to send a message. Who was the originator of a message seems simple enough right and also could be helpful, actually no to make this happen that fundamental privacy of your messages must be completely broken down.
End-To-End encryption has to end for this to happen, traceability. So we all rely on end-to-end encryption to keep us safe and private. Our private messages photos messages, documents, passwords, banking, details, money, details, business, dealings that we're doing it's all safe due to end-to-end encryption by its very definition. What is end-to-end encryption? It means the service provider itself cannot know the content of your message or who the originator is only the sender and the receiver know that the minute you ask for traceability. All of these ends.
Now what you have to do, a fingerprint will have to be added to each of the messages sent by you. Is it a violation of your rights to privacy? Does this open this secure messaging systems to hackers to criminals? Are your messages going to be no longer secure? Will the service provider know how to track billions of messages a day? Will you be confident now to send messages in such a situation? Now lots and lots of questions that we all must ask ourselves, I'm going to add another very important question that comes to my mind. You know this poster boy, for this ask for traceability seems to have become WhatsApp. It's all about WhatsApp, but you see end-to-end. Encryption is also used by, let's say iMessage on the apple platform, also on the signal app.
So how come they haven't been told to make the same thing happen? Why aren't they in the headlines see our digital life, especially in messaging, is one of the most used services on our devices. Don't take it for granted that it's there it's important that we all understand that we all gain and what we lose when something. This big is change time for all of us to get the right knowledge get the right. Information on this show we'll be tracking this topic regularly over the next few weeks, and now, let's move on to our top story, our review of the OnePlus word CE 5g CE, as in core edition. Now it's priced at about 22 999, that's the starter price got a plastic bag very striking, blue and purple color, so looks very, very premium: snapdragon 750 g oxygen, OS 11, triple rear camera, 90 hertz screen refresh rate, so it's got a lot of going for it, but it is coming in at a time when there's a lot of competition, the original word, when it came in pretty much, swept the market at that price point everybody wanted it.
But now this nod comes in with a lot of competition. So this week we're going to take a look at the word CE 5g next week. We'll actually compare it to a lot of other phones. It is not often that a brand pulls off a blockbuster move with its first experiment in a new price segment, but OnePlus managed just that with last year's OnePlus. Not the original OnePlus not has long been at the top of our list of phones to recommend in the sub 25000 segments.
It provided a seamless one plus experience with little compromises in hardware while sticking to a budget exactly what consumers want now OnePlus is exploring a whole new price segment with its even more affordable word ce5g, let's find out, if not core edition, gets our flattery or flag in secure's review. Let's address the elephant in the room. First OnePlus has made very obvious compromises to achieve the word CE's 22 999 rupees price tag holding up the phone. The first thing we noticed is the plastic bag on the new word CE, while the matte black shines and shimmers in shades of blue and purple there's a distinct lack of finesse. It is, however, ergonomically sound and the rounded edges matte finish and light.170 gram make the CE a comfortable phone to hold for long hours. Despite being a budget phone, the OnePlus not includes an in-display fingerprint scanner and a rather good one too.
It was consistently quick to unlock the phone, but there are bigger omissions that let the phone down first up is the missing alert, slider a hallmark, OnePlus feature that has been a staple on all their phones and truly sets the series apart. Additionally, gorilla glass protection is also nowhere to be found, even though there is a dragon tail glass on top. It lacks the same level of protection on the front is a standard 6.43 inch, full HD, plus AMOLED display, which looks great. The screen has good color contrast and vibrancy. You will even get 90 hertz, refresh rate support on board, which isn't bad at all.
However, the competition is pushing the envelope to 120 hertz, even on a budget and OnePlus new node feels old here inside the ce5g is the Qualcomm snapdragon 750 g processor. Despite the lower numbering, there is no major difference between the performance here and on the OnePlus word's snapdragon 765 g. The chipset here gains a bit more CPU power in exchange for GPU grunt over the testing period. The phone did not slack at any given task and kept the performance smooth. He even enjoyed gaming on the device.
There were no noticeable frame drops, and nor did it heat up in our time with it. We got the 12gb variant for review, but there are 6gb and 8gb configurations too. In the market. The OnePlus word CE includes 5g support, as the name suggests, but this is restricted to just a single band in India. Now imaging has never been a strong suit of OnePlus, and this statement doesn't change with the word CE 5g.
The OnePlus word ce5g has a 64 megapixel primary camera and 8 megapixel ultra-wide and a 2 megapixel depth. Sensor. Pictures from the primary camera have details and colors that are fairly true to life. The ultrawide shots, however, leaf much to be desired and there is a significant boost up in saturation. Portraits are not that great and the lack of softness and accuracy in object.
Detection is questionable. The low light shots, however, pass the average score. The 16 megapixel front camera clicks good, looking portraits and great enough selfies to keep your social media presence happy. One of the major highlights of an OnePlus phone is its software with oxygen OS 11 on android 11. The phone stands out with its clean UI and no bloatware.
The company is promising two years of support, too. Moving on to the battery life, the word CE 5g packs in a 4500 my unit, it lasted us a day of full use. There is 30 watt fast charging support that takes about 40 minutes to charge the phone and yes, the charger comes in the box. The cell guru verdict the OnePlus, not ce5g, gets almost everything right, but annoyingly still leaves us wanting more. Let's move on now to our very special Qualcomm segment.
We're going to talk about premium gaming features coming at an affordable price. How is this happening because at one time a gaming phone was also a flagship phone had to be big bucks that you had to spend now you can get incredible gaming phones at less than 20 000 rupees. In the last few years, we've seen the evolution of the smartphone from just a communication tool to our everyday companion, but one of the biggest and most massive changes is how it's actually become our go-to device for entertainment. I mean that's pretty much it right. You always think about it, especially smartphone gaming, a key pillar now of that entertainment experience in every which way, but why just consume content passively right when you can actually interact with it? It's one of the youngest populations in the entire world.
Gaming now has become a dominant industry, and that is no surprise to any of us for India's youth. Smartphone gaming has become a way to connect with friends and family in a virtual space when you can't go and meet outside like the situation that is right now, gaming, it is Netflix. Parties are great for consumption, but mobile gaming has fast surpassed that interactivity that you have playing as a team being able to chat alongside participating as a team activity has been a really uniting factor hold on if you're thinking, it's only the youth playing games on their phones. You are in for a big surprise: over 60 percent of the smartphone consumer is in the 45 to 54 age group, and they're, all avid gamers, as well from transits to downtime, between work to just relaxing unwinding, more and more adults now taking to spending a few minutes playing smartphone games, and this is now going on at an incredible pace. The pandemic and the accompanying lockdowns have only helped spur this further with a 45 increase in smartphone gamers in India.
Casual gaming is clearly here to stay, and it reflects in user engagement times. People are spending upwards of an hour a day playing games on their phones, and the number of gamers is constantly going up in 2020. The android play store witnessed a 51 increase in game downloads. That kind of number didn't happen for other apps. Now India is one of the largest consumers of these smartphone gaming experiences.
It's not a surprise, then that Indians are also demanding a lot more now from their devices. Better graphics, better displays connectivity, gaming capabilities lots more from their hardware, especially for gaming. The rise of smartphone gaming has had an equivalent rise in competitive gaming as well. Remember, playing Counter Strike just a few years ago. Imagine being able to play that anywhere now on the go.
Indian esports is anticipated to contribute around 10 to the global esport market share and a significant portion of this comes from smartphones. Further. A recent survey shows that 90 percent of Indian esports players consider the mobile phone as their preferred gaming system, portability, power, simplicity and a focus on delivering stable and smooth gameplay makes it an absolute no-brainer, with the average selling price of the phone still hovering around what fifteen thousand rupees you know. If you want a perfect one and hardcore dedicated gaming phone prices coming down really fast. Users want screaming fast performance without spending the big bucks, and they're getting it.
That's the best part, so 120 hertz displays fast chipsets, strong wireless connectivity, oodles of storage, are all table stakes now, so it comes as absolutely no surprise that the industry, too, has evolved in response to customer feedback. Just see the kind of stuff that is coming out once the mainstay of top tier flagship is now feasible to get a perfectly competitive smartphone without blowing your budget. It also means that brands now have a laser focus on bringing high-end features that matter at a very, very cut-down price, and this all starts with the heart of the phone. What else the processor, the big guy, specifically processors, that give you high-end performance while staying cool all while delivering long-lasting battery the overwhelming winner of the popularity vote? Of course, can you guess I'll give you a few seconds? Of course, Qualcomm snapdragon has been at the forefront of innovation across all tiers, and it continues to bring features from premium tier to mid and low tiers.
