OnePlus 9 Pro versus Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra camera comparison

Hey, what's going on guys, I'm nick gray, and today I'm doing a smartphone camera test with the all-new OnePlus 9 pro and comparing that against the Samsung Galaxy s21 ultra, which I'm using to record right now. Now, as I do in every smartphone camera comparison, everything that you see in this video is recorded on these two devices. So just keep an eye at the bottom of the screen to see which smartphone and which cameras from that smartphone are being used. But before we jump into some side-by-side photo and video comparisons, let's run through the specs on both of these devices, and I'm going to start things off with the cameras on the back of the OnePlus 9 pro, and it's quad camera system, highlighted by its main 48 megapixel main sensor, 50 megapixels, ultra-wide camera, which is the same ones used on the opp, find x3 pro, which we really loved an 8, megapixel, 3.3, x, zoom camera and then a 2 megapixel, monochrome camera. These cameras on the back of the phone are able to max out at 8k video at 30 frames per second, but also do 4k, 60 and 4k.120 fps, if you're looking for slow motion as well as far as the front-facing camera on this phone. It is a single 16, megapixel sensor, maxing out at 1080p video 60 fps, practically the same exact camera module.

We've seen on the last couple flagship devices from OnePlus switching over to the Samsung Galaxy s21 ultra. We have a quad camera system on the back of this phone as well, with a 108, megapixel main sensor, 12 megapixels, ultra-wide camera and then two 10 megapixel sensors for a 3x and a 10x zoom with a periscope camera. And then on the front. We have a 40 megapixel selfie camera capable of recording 4k video at 60 frames per second, which is pretty impressive, and then the rear camera is maxing out at 4k, 24 frames per second, but also doing 4k, 60 fps as well. So now that we've gotten the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy s21 ultra and the OnePlus 9 pro all squared away, let's jump into some side-by-side photo and video comparisons to see how these two devices stack up in everyday use and whether the OnePlus 9 pro lives up to that Hasselblad hype that we've been hearing about.

So, and here's a look at video capture from the front-facing cameras on both of these devices. The galaxy s21 ultra definitely has the advantage here with the selfie camera being able to capture 4k video at up to 60 fps when compared to the 1080p video at 60fps that you can get out of the OnePlus 9 pro for being a flagship device. It's kind of disappointing to see that the OnePlus 9 pro has a limited front-facing selfie camera, especially for recording video and while recording video with the rear cameras. Both of these are able to capture 4k video at 60 frames per second and even 8k video at 30 fps. But one of the disappointing things for the OnePlus 9 pro is that when you zoom in you only get 2x digital zoom on the main sensor, rather than using the 3.3x zoom on the back of the device, while the galaxy s21 can take full advantage of that 3x zoom camera at full, 4k 60fps do so, so now, if you're planning to capture video in low light conditions like these with front-facing cameras, I definitely recommend going with a galaxy s21 ultra. It does a lot better and on top of that, it's also recording at 4k versus the 1080p video that you get on the OnePlus 9 pro.

But again, if you really want to take better video in low light conditions, I recommend switching to the ultra-wide camera on the back of these phones. As you can see here, the ultra white cameras do a lot better in situations like these again, you do have to contend with not being able to see what you're actually recording, but if you do want that, better video going with the rear cameras is always the better option. Hmm, this here's a look at video capture from both of the cameras on the back of these phones in low light conditions. They do fairly well in situations like these when compared to mid-range devices, of course, in extreme low light conditions. As we see on this side, there is a lot of graininess, especially with the ultra-wide cameras, but the main cameras that we switched to right here definitely do a lot better when lighting conditions aren't ideal and that's going to do it for this camera comparison between the OnePlus 9 pro and the Samsung Galaxy s21 truck.

Let me know what you think of the results in the comments below and whether you think the cameras on the OnePlus 9 pro with the Hasselblad branding really live up to their expectations. Thank you guys so much for watching. I do have more camera comparisons coming up so make sure you subscribe and stay tuned for that thanks again, and I'll catch you in the next one.
