OnePlus 9 Pro - My thoughts on Overheating Issues || LATEST UPDATE

What's up guys, Michael here, coming to you with another video in this one, I'd like to address the overheating issues that some users appear to be having, similarly to some of the previous models that OnePlus had right now, the nine pro is having some overheating issues. So I'd like to give you my thoughts and opinions after using this phone for two three weeks and also whether I experienced any overheating issues that appear to be happening for some users, let's get started so, firstly guys for the last two weeks that I've used this phone. I had no issues whatsoever, no error messages, nothing like that. I've had some small troubles deleting files. However, it appears that deleting process for bigger files over- let's say one gigabyte- may take a little more than I've expected. But that's that's not a big problem and with the latest updates that I've made to the oxygen OS that seemed to be resolved completely.

I've tried to mimic some of the issues that people are experiencing to try and overheat the phone and see whether I could get any error messages. What I would do is use extensively camera app on a high resolution like 4 or 8k, and have a flash enabled and see how that goes, and what I found is the following: when recording videos without flash, no problem, the expected 5 minutes on 8k and 5 minutes on 4k at 120 frames per second there's: no issues, no error messages whatsoever. However, when I enable flash within maybe 10 minutes from the start of the recording, I would get an error message for overheating. So let me show you quickly the screenshot, so this is one of them, so that's uh 8k at 30 frames per second, that's a third video that I was recording, so that would be 11 minutes into the recording, and I got this error message: flash disabled due to high temperature. Now when I touched the phone, I could tell that definitely the temperature has reason- and it was above body temperature.

Unfortunately, I don't have any device to test that and give you the precise temperature. This is probably an expected behavior. Now without any flash, I had no problems other apps or games. I had no problems whatsoever. Only when the flash was enabled and again 10 15 minutes into the video, the flash was disabled, but the video was still recording.

So just to give you a couple of details as well during the recording, I had no background apps, so there were no games or anything like that running. In the background also, it was in the ambient environments, so 23 degrees Celsius, and also there was no protective case on the phone, so nothing to kind of keep that heat close to the body, and I'm running the latest oxygen OS 11.3.3.3. So what are my thoughts about overheating coming from other users and messages on Twitter? I would say: definitely contact OnePlus pro also most of those users. I don't see the screenshot of what error messages. Are they getting what usage they did, what build number they are on within the last two weeks, I've seen two updates to the phone, so definitely an update would be necessary to see if the issue persists, and then I would work together with OnePlus to get this resolved? Alternatively, I would send the phone back for a return or refund.

Now again, this phone didn't have an issue, so it could be just individual situations. Bear in mind that you know there has been probably over a million or more phones right now sent worldwide and so far we've only seen a couple of individual cases of overheating. So I would say in terms of flash and what I was receiving here, that's a fairly expected behavior. The flash is overheating. There is a specific led that is overheating and when the camera is working, obviously the back side of the phone will be overheating slightly and that flash will not last forever.

So for me, this is an expected behavior but comment down below if you have any other experiences with overheating. I'd love to hear that if you have any articles about overheating and specific screenshots showing technical details about what exactly happened, what kind of set up the phone was in I'd be happy to hear about that other than that guys. I hope you've enjoyed this video. Let me know in the comments of what are your thoughts about the new OnePlus 9 pro. Apart from the overheating drama that we're hearing on the internet.

I will see you guys in the next one covering more of the videos about OnePlus 9 pro thanks for watching take care. You.
