Apple Watch SE Review - The Best Value Apple Watch ?!

Apple watches are becoming more popular than ever around the world, with an estimated 30.7 million sold in 2019. That is a 36 increase from 2018. So clearly, these things are popular, and I'm willing to bet that in 2020 the Apple Watch sew ill be the best-selling Apple Watch of all time and here's why this smartwatch is the perfect compromise between price and performance, starting at a price of only 279 for the GPS variant and 329 for the cellular variant. This is a great deal. If you follow me over on Twitter, you probably know that I dropped my series 3 from about waist high, and it completely shattered. So if you are going to buy an Apple Watch, make sure you don't make the same mistake, I did and get yourself Apple Care.

Trust me. It is worth the extra 50 or 60 dollars just for that extra sense of security. Also, if you want to see more coverage on apple watches, including my gold, stainless steel series, 6, which should be coming in about a week, make sure you are subscribed to the channel and while you are at it, leave a like on this video to help me with the YouTube algorithm after watching this review. If you do want to pick up the Apple Watch, SE Amazon affiliate links are in the description below so make sure you go and check that out. Okay, so the Apple Watch, SE is technically the new model Apple Watch for apple, but much like the iPhone SC, it's not exactly new inside and out.

Essentially, it is the same as the series 4, but with two minor differences, the SE doesn't have the ability to measure your ECG, but it does come with an always-on altimeter and unless you're an avid hiker or some kind of outdoorsy person, an altimeter may not be that important to you. I feel, like most people would benefit from an ECG monitor on their wrists. But if you are fine with that one, the SC is a great pick. Now, if you compare the SC to the series 5 or even the Siri 6, the main feature that the SD lacks isn't always on display, which of course allows you to check the time and notifications without a flick of the wrist for myself. Personally, it's not a must-have feature.

I don't think it's too much work, raising your wrist to check the time or notifications and, more importantly, and always on display, does hinder the battery life. The SE is available in two different sizes, 40 millimeters and 44 millimeters. The one that I have here been the 44 millimeters. It does look pretty big on my skinny wrist, but I just prefer a bigger display, so the watch is easier to interact with this year. We also get three different colors dark, gray, silver and gold.

The one that I picked up is the dark gray model, and I like it because it goes with most of my outfits, whether it be business or casual. When talking about performance, the SE performs identically to the series 4 in terms of speed, responsiveness and battery life. It does feature the latest Apple Watch, software watch, OS, 7 and no matter what you do on your Apple Watch. Everything is just so smooth and responsive, whether it be navigating the interface launching apps or raising your wrist to activate Siri, which I think by far is my most used feature. I raised my wrist and asked Siri a plethora of questions throughout the day and I just find it to be very useful having a voice assistant a raise away, if you will this year, Apple is including sport loot bands across all of their new apple watches, which I do prefer over the traditional sport bank.

The reason my series 3 broke in the first place was because I was trying to put on my watch and I missed one of the holes on the sport band and my watch ended up on the ground with the sport loop band. I don't see any way of that happening since it's just a Velcro strap that goes around your wrist. I do find the sport loop band to be much more comfortable. It is easier to adjust on the fly when your watch is too tight, and I find it to be a lot more breathable on my wrist when I am working out and my wrist starts to sweat now, everyone has a different purpose for why they want an Apple Watch and I think that's what really makes the Apple Watch unique. I mainly use the Apple Watch for fitness related purposes and for quick glances at my notifications.

Ever since I've had an Apple Watch, I've been obsessed with closing these rings and meeting my step goal for the day, although I may not currently look like it, I do work out almost every single day and the Apple Watch is a great aid in helping me keep fit. Remember it is an accessory that can aid in weight loss, but you're not going to start shedding the weight by just getting an Apple Watch and being stagnant throughout the day. You do need to put in the work and closing these rings on a daily basis and meeting my step goal of 10k a day is a great way to get started on your fitness and weight loss journey. Surprisingly, the SC also comes with fall detection and emergency SOS. I have no way of testing out this feature unless I do take an actual tumble, but if you are an avid jogger or an older individual, this can be a life-saving feature.

So pretty neat on apple's part to include this on the cheaper Apple Watch set his year we also do have sleep tracking with watch OS 7, so good battery life is almost essential now, and I'm pretty happy with the battery life. I've been getting on the SE, I'm able to get about a day and a half between charges with the brightness set to around medium believe it or not. I do use my Apple Watch for taking a lot of phone calls and this speaker and my quality is just excellent. There is no issue with clarity, and the person on the other end is able to hear me just fine. It does take a solid two hours to fully charge the SE and if I am wearing it to sleep, I do have to find some time to charge the watch throughout my day like during my shower or whenever I am idle at home.

Speaking of wearing this to sleep, it's not as uncomfortable as I thought it would be. There is a minor adjustment process sleeping with an Apple Watch, but I haven't found it to wake me up in the middle of the night, just out of sheer discomfort with the Apple Watch. Se, you do get the core features of what an Apple Watch has to offer at an affordable price point, so we do have features such as receiving notifications, tracking your fitness and paying for things using Apple Pay. And of course I can't forget this is a watch, so it is pretty good at telling the time. This is a very compelling option for your first ever Apple Watch.

We do have features that the series 3 does lack, and we will most likely get software updates for a longer period of time. It is a lot cheaper than the series 6 and blood oxygen monitoring, which is the exclusive feature found on the series.6 isn't even that accurate when taking readings from your wrist, so it is essentially in its current state and gimmick if you are looking to upgrade from a series, 1 2 or even a series 3, the SC is a significant upgrade, which I would highly recommend if you do need an ECG monitor, which is completely understandable, then go for the series 4, as it does come with an easy to monitor, and it is a lot cheaper now than when it was first released. If you guys found this review useful, you know what to do and as always, thank you guys so much for watching and don't forget to flick with your wrist. Since you know this doesn't have an always on display.
