I'll be honest: when one was first announced, the eighth and the April, it did feel like the seventh series all over again from last year. Now the one who skate was once again left in the shadow of the pro and this time it hasn't even had that killer starting price. Now, after my initial skepticism of the phone I've spent about a week with the OnePlus feed, and it's time to see if it has managed to change my opinion about it now before we begin, don't forget to subscribe to our Channel and also hit that Bell icon to the first know. Whenever we push out a brand-new video I, wasn't a big fan of the circular camera bump on the one, less 7d, and I'm glad that's gone away. However, I do miss the frosted finish off the glass back. The onyx black version of the OnePlus 8 has a glossy finish, which picks up fingerprints very easily.
It's also very slippery, which did result in accidental drops. Thankfully, there's a case provided in the box, which should help as you'd expect build quality is excellent thanks to the curved edge front and back glass sandwich in the metal frame. The buttons are also easy to reach, and the alert slider is handy as always. Overall, the new, simplified design is welcome, and I like that. One plus isn't trying to hard to impress the display is one of the most important parts of any smartphone and the OnePlus 8 has a very good one.
It's a six point. Five inch AMOLED panel with sloping sides and the ninety Hertz refresh rate, makes usage in general, feel fluid and snappy. You can drop it down to 60 Hertz. If you want to save a bit of battery power. HDR content looks very good on 1+8 when playing compatible shows through Netflix the brightness and color saturation automatically get a boost.
The OnePlus 8 has an industry fingerprint sensor, which is super quick at authentication. All it takes is a quick form tap and the phone unlocks face. Recognition is equally fast and works decently. Well, in dim lighting, you can enable the double tap to wake gesture, but what I really wanted was a raise to weight gesture which is still missing with all the top and hardware. It's hardly surprising with the 1+8 performance is nothing but impressive, but what clearly caught our attention is the fact it doesn't really eat up too much in the process.
Gaming performance is top-notch, 49 can run at 90 fps, and the experience is good and other. Equally, demanding games such as punchy, mobile and even Call of Duty ran just fine to the top metal portion of the phone does get hot in some games like for tonight, but this wasn't the case with most others. Games and movies are especially enjoyable times through very good stereo speakers on the OnePlus, a European and the bottom firing speaker work together to produce very good, balanced, stereo sound. All the at Mo's enhancement also helps boost the low and mid-range frequencies, which gives the sound added depth and clarity. The one person has a decently big 4300 William hour battery, which lasted me a day and a half on average, considering the display was at 90 Hertz constantly I would call this pretty good.
A battery loop test echoed this as well running for nearly 22 ODS charging. The phone is very quick thanks to the walk through PP charger, topping up a fully depleted battery took a little more than an hour, but in 30 minutes you can charge the battery of the 61 percent. Now, let's talk about the software oxygen. Os is one of the reasons that fans keep coming back to one plus smartphones. The interface is still clean and free from bloatware.
The new launcher now offers more seamless, multitasking experience. Besides GB of free cloud storage for backups, once you've signed in with a 1 plus account a built-in screen recorder and dynamic wallpapers. It's time to talk about the elephant in the room here and that's the cameras. The OnePlus 8 has the same 14 megapixel Sony IMF 586 sensor with optical stabilization as the 1 + 7 d. This is paired with a similar 16 megapixel wide-angle camera.
However, the biggest change or downgrade, in my opinion, is the introduction of a 2 megapixel macro camera in place of the seventies' telephoto camera. Now the 1 + 70 captured macro shots using its wide-angle camera, which means there wasn't really any need for dedicated macro camera on the 1 + 8. In my opinion, this is managed wasted, opportunity, and honestly I literally find myself using this 2 megapixel sensor, all that much in daylight, the 1 +, its main camera captures detailed images with vivid colors and balanced HDR. How surprised at how closely the wide-angle camera matched the colors and overall tone of the main one as you've, often seen a mismatch with other phones. Close-Ups, look good ? with plenty of detail and saturated colors' portrait mode works.
Well, although you can't adjust the level of globe before or after you've taken a shot, low-light photos a decent and the app automatically brightens images when shooting with the main camera, without the need to switch to night step. In fact, I found very little difference between a regular photo and the one shot with nights here. This does not apply to the wide-angle camera. RO, which catches my terrible low-light shots in auto mode, but it does deliver better results when nights cape enabled the 16 megapixel front. Camera is not bad as long as you give it enough light during the day.
Selfies have good detail and HDR was handled well too, when shooting against the light. Low-Light selfies looked heavily processed, though, and depending on the location of the light source, the results varied widely ported, more often failed to detect our outline correctly -. Now one neat detail highlight is that when shooting selfies a little drink around the front camera lights up, so you know where to look which is helpful in low-light the 1 plus it can record up to 4k resolution video at 60fps, which isn't as flashy as having 8k 30 like the 10, but I. Don't foresee many complaining about this. The quality of 4k is very good.
Footage is stabilized well, and the color tone is retained. Even if you switch to the wide-angle camera in low-light, noise is suppressed pretty well, but there's a nagging focus hunting issue. Every time the frame changes even a little. Now you can switch between the wide-angle camera and main camera when shooting, but only up to 4k 30fps, as this is not possible at 60fps. The most annoying thing about the video mode on the one turns 8 is that there's no easy way to change the resolution or frame rate from within the viewfinder, if you currently own a one Plus 70 than this absolutely no need to jump to the 8.
However, if it's still hanging on to your 60 or anything older, the OnePlus, it would be worth switching -. Many are probably going to find it difficult to pay more than 40 thousand rupees for a wireless device. But when you looked at other flagships this year, such as a galaxy s 20 or even the iPhone 11 Pro from last year, the OnePlus- it still costs way less, so should you buy the one plus 8/12? Yes, absolutely in the beginning, I did feel that one plus eight was a little overpriced and I think that sentiment still stands even after reviewing it. I. Don't think that well, GB model offers very good value, since of nearly fifty thousand rupees I would be really tempted to pay a bit more and get the OnePlus 8 pro.
Instead, I do feel the OnePlus should have given the 8 IP later waterproofing and even wireless charging I mean I would have even taken at an ip67 rating and me even a 10 watt wireless charging rather than having nothing at all. However, I do feel that OnePlus will fix this in the 1 plus 8 T. However, that is still a long way too way. So, thanks for watching our review of the one plus eight, let us know what you think of this phone. Is it still a great value flagship?
