OnePlus 8 Pro Review - Pandemic Proof

What's up everybody, my name is Dan and welcome to honestly I've used the 1 plus 7 Pro, as my daily driver for the past year, and recently I finally got my hands on the 1 plus 8 Pro, the Glacial green version, and it is gorgeous by the way what do I think about this phone. Well, let's get honest as a 1 plus 7 Pro user I can tell you that one Plus put a lot of thought into there.8 Pro, it's not like they just threw in the best hardware, raise the price and said here you go consumers. You can have the phone now. Instead, they made a lot of little tweaks. That reviewers aren't talking about that. Just make this phone so much better and nicer to use.

For example, while people are freaking out over the screen and the camera I'm sitting here like yo, this phone feels so good in the hand and I realized why it's because OnePlus made the phone a little thinner, and they also made it a little taller a little skinnier as well, but that thinness just a tiny bit of slimness here, makes it so comfortable to use with one hand, and it's the first time that I feel like I, can use a big hand, a big phone with one hand you stop to do some climbing to get to the top, but it's really not that bad and on the 7 Pro it was kind of played with palm rejection and ghost touch issues, but because this is the phone is a little, skinnier I've rarely run into issues with that. Even though they've kept this the edge. You know that the rounded edge on the sides OnePlus also made a couple other adjustments. Little tweaks like, for example, the vibration slider. They made it smaller.

That means your thumb has more control over it, because I found on the old version, because it was so big I- would always slide it to the silent mode and miss all my notifications. Now you have a little more precise control, and on top of that, they made the top speaker a little louder. Speaker quality, wise, it's the same, but the top speakers a little louder. So now there's a much more balanced, sound coming out of the phone. They did make one tweak that annoys me so much, and it's the location of the fingerprint sensor.

Every other phone, including the 7 Pro, has the fingerprint sensor near the bottom of the phone, but for some reason the 8 Pro and the Estonian altar have the fingerprint sensor like an inch and a half from the bottom, which is so different from all the other phones I've used for the past 13 years. I don't get why they would do that to me, it's these small tweaks that really increase my user experience of the phone. That makes me respect OnePlus so much as a brand, because, even though the tweet seems small I would imagine it's costing OnePlus Baku bucks, because if you're going to change the chassis size, that means you have to rd a whole new design for the interior. On top of that, something like the switch might seem like a small thing, but by doing that, you can't just use the old parts and save money you have to resource and whatever you have to do to change of all the sliders here. On top of that, you brought up a new color wear as well.

So again, that's additional money. You take all that, and then you add the big flagship hardware level stuff, like the camera, the screen, the wireless charger, and you do all that for less than the competition, and now you've got my attention, and now you've got my respect, guys, I love this glacial green, color, I! Think it's beautiful! It's so unique, and it's so nice that for the first time in my life, I am looking for a good, clear case and I realize that's an oxymoron, because there's no such thing as a good, clear case, because all clear cases are ugly as hell. So if you guys can think of any alternatives in which I can show off this beautiful color and protect my phone because I'm super clumsy. Let me know in the comments below if you guys are liking this video so far, please give it a thumbs up and consider subscribing because I'm working really hard to try to grow this channel and I would love for you guys to join me on that journey. So now that the big changes OnePlus has decided to get rid of the pop-up camera, which is a really cool, really quirky feature and has opted to use the hole, punch camera like every other phone and while I'm sad that the all screen display is gone, what I get in turn and what we get in turn is a ridiculously fast front-facing.

Camera unlock feature like if you thought that the front unlock face unlock was fast before now, we're talking about like Dominic, Loretto Fast and the Furious Fast. It's so fast that a lot of times you won't even see the lock screen. It'll just go straight to the desktop or home screen. I actually thought that maybe I had the like an unlocked, stay unlocked feature on, but the more I did it. The more I saw a like a loading sign around the camera.

Telling me no, no I unlocked it with your face. It's just faster than you can process it. It's crazy! Furthermore, it's super convenient, and it's pretty amazing OnePlus finally brought a flagship level camera to the 8 pro, and it's really exciting. Furthermore, it takes some amazing stills, but you can see some sample, but this is actually one of the maid of this phone, at least as of right. Now, their video modes are all messed up.

If you try to take anything at 4k, first, you're going to get stuttering in that footage. At the beginning, I noticed that there is lag, and on top of that sometimes- and it's really random, when it happens, it will stutter in the middle of the video as well. It doesn't matter if you had 4k, 30 or 60. It will lag on top of that. What makes it even crazier is that if you were to try to trim that footage and post I like using your phone, you're going to get dropped frames for some reason, likes frames will just disappear from that footage.

I, don't notice this at all at the 1080 modes, but the 4k modes right now are basically unusable for this phone and from what I read on the line-up from online. It's an it's definitely a software thing, so OnePlus really needs to get their act together and fix that camera, because, right now, video at 4k is totally unusable. For some of you guys, that's okay, because you're like I, don't use 4k, but for those who do for those who are kind of like look, I paid, $$9001,000 for a flagship phone give me flagship level. Video 1 plus you have to get your act together. It was the same reason why I hate it on Samsung Galaxy s, 20 ultra for $1400.

You can't afford to focus issues, that's an unusable camera to me. In my opinion, you got to fix this one plus you got to fix it soon. Let me know in the comments below, if you guys, still plan on doing the G cam hack, even with the upgraded camera- and let me know your guys favorite profiles, because I want to do a fun camera comparison in the near future. Here OnePlus put the best screen of any smartphone out there on the 8 Pro. It's only matched by the galaxy s, 20 ultra, which costs $1,400, which is pretty insane, and you can see my full review of the s20 ultra here, but this screen is actually better than the s20 ultras, because at the highest resolution I think at HD+ you can get 120 Hertz refresh rate, whereas on the s20 ultra you can only do 90 Hertz at that high resolution.

Does that make a big difference in real life? Use, though, kind of little if you're actually looking for it, but if you're not really paying attention, you won't notice it. The other thing is: this screen has fantastic color accuracy, but this is one of those areas where I think the law of diminishing returns comes into play. It could be that I really lucked out with my 7 Pro display, but when I use it in vivid and natural mode, the colors don't look all that different. One of the big, though, is brightness level. This phone, the eight pro, gets super Super-duper bright, and it's awesome because summer is right around the corner here in Philly, and you're, not going to have any issues seeing this thing at the brightest sunlight levels.

Oh, in case you guys are wondering I haven't, had any color ships on my phone, no green tints, no red tints, no black, crushing my screen has been flawless. I keep my screen at a hundred percent brightness, just a flex on every other screen out there, but also because the battery can handle it in a full day of use when I use it for work. When I'm using outlook like crazy, when I'm texting when I'm browsing the web for certain things at the end of the day at 11 o'clock at night, I had about 26 percent battery life, one night I was watching the last dance. The Michael Jordan documentary, which is really awesome. You guys should check it out and that night I finished at about 17%, so definitely can't go for more than a day.

But if you're worried about that well, OnePlus has you covered because now OnePlus offers you wireless charging up to 30 watts, and if you don't know what that means, that means it'll charge just as fast as if you were to plug it in using their warp charger, and that is insane. You can have 50 percent battery in 20 minutes wirelessly. The only problem is, is that it's going to cost you $70, because you can only do it with their proprietary charger. It has a fixed wall outlet, which means that it's not detachable with USB like everything else, so it's not as flexible or convenient and I can't show to you guys because it is constantly sold out. So it kind of sucks, but you can use this on any other wireless charging module.

The only thing is that you will only get 10 watts of charging power, as opposed to the full 30 that you would get on the proprietary charging module. The 8 pro is ip68 certified, but the pro line was always water and dustproof at least the 7 pro. Was they just never bother to get the certification, so nothing too exciting there, and it turns out over all thoughts in this phone I really like it, I think? The form factor is amazing. I think it feels great in the hand, I love the flagship hardware, but if you were planning on taking 4k video or if that's something, that's really important to you, then you guys might want to hold off until one-plus fixes this thing in the software. But you might have to wait anyway, because these phones are constantly sold out and if you guys are waiting trying to figure out which model you guys should get I highly recommend you get this phone here and the.

You can only get the Glacial green and the 8gig 128 gig modules and I recommend this, because this here, the 7 Pro. This is the 256 12, gig module and in terms of performance, there's no difference. On top of that, if you guys do need more storage, you can always get Google Cloud Drive. It cost $30 for 200 gigs of storage versus paying $100 per 120 gigs. But that assumes you guys have good Wi-Fi.

If you don't, you might want to get the updated storage version, but man, this glacial green, again, guys MMM, so good, all right! Everybody, that's gonna! Do it for this video, if you guys like this video, please give it a thumbs up. Also, would you consider subscribing I love for you guys to join the entourage and until next time everybody.
