All right so how about the battery life of Samsung Galaxy note 9 after the all-new one UI 2.5 update, which hit this device few days ago in this video. Let me share the real life usage test results for you guys and if you are already running on one UI 2.5 on your note 9 you can. Let me know about your test results in the comment section below, so that it can benefit the apex community and while you do that, consider subscribing to the channel and if you find this video useful do leave a like as well. Now, let's get rolling this note 9 I have here rocks and Enos chipset, and I have been using this phone for more than two years now, and this is as good as brand-new phone. Even today I have been a moderate to heavy user of this phone. Just until recently.
Now I switched over to note 20 ultra now, specifically for this battery test. I have switched over to Galaxy Note 9 after the one UI 2.5, you can imagine the current status of the battery after two years of moderate to heavy usage, all right. So I tested this phone as a regular user. There were two different settings I tested it on. One is optimized mode with who display which balances the performance and battery second setting was on medium power, saving mode with full HD display and with some limited functionalities.
In both these cases, I did not turn on the always on display. I don't want everybody draining my battery, so I usually keep it off. I didn't test it in high performance mode, because that is something which drains the battery pretty quickly, which is unnecessary, at least for me now. Let me tell you the results on optimized mode, I charged the phone to 100 at around 9 30 a. m, and it lasted the entire day with three percent battery left at around 9 30 pm in the night.
This offered me a screen on time of 5 hours, 15 minutes and before you guys asked me about the calculation. Let me tell you that this was calculated accurately since the full charge, since I did not use the phone till I fully charged it. The statistics shown is right from full charge and I have also added screen on time of each bar since the full charge. I would say this is really an amazing result for a phone, this old, which has undergone moderate to heavy usage in this test. I have used camera for about 30 minutes YouTube for close to about one and a half hour and rest of the applications like WhatsApp mails play, store, ecommerce, apps and many more and gaming was just for about five to ten minutes.
Furthermore, I just played subway surfer for the sake of this test. Now let me share the results of power saving mode here with similar usage patterns and with similar charging times. I've got 6 hours, 40 minutes screen on time, don't go by the number shown on the screenshot, because I did use the phone for few minutes before charging it in the morning. So it's showing 7 hours there I manually calculated all the bars, and it resulted in 6 hour 40 minutes of screen on time, which I was not expecting at all. This could be due to the optimization on one UI 2.5. I was not getting this result for the last few months when it was running on one UI, 2.1 and surprisingly this time it has improved a lot. Believe me, this is great, and this will certainly make you use this already capable phone for a longer time.
That's about it! You guys. Let me know your thoughts about this in the comment section below and also don't forget, to share your battery test results which will help others to compare anyways thanks a lot for watching you guys, take care and stay safe. I will see you next. One cheers.
