Hi I'm the grid for Android, and today I'm doing another smartphone camera comparison with the pixel 3, which I'm using to record right now, and the all-new Pixel 3a. Now as I do in all of these smartphone camera comparisons. I'm going to be using these two devices to record everything that you see in this video so make sure to keep an eye at the bottom of the screen to see which device is being used. Now, the new Pixel 3a is about half the price of the original pixel, but google says it has the same camera on the back in the same software and imaging processing as the original pixel 3. So we're going to put that to the test to see if there's actually any difference between these two devices, but first we're going to jump into the specs to see how those actually compare when looking at the camera. Specs of these two phones, the one on the back of the Pixel 3a, is identical to that of the pixel 3 you're.
Looking at a 12 point, two megapixel camera with electronic and optical image: stabilization, an F 1.8 lens, a two-tone LED, flash and 4k video capabilities at 30 frames per second and 1080p at up to 120 frames per second. But there is a difference between the cameras on these two devices. When you're looking at the front-facing sensors, the pixel 3/8 only has a single 8 megapixel sensor, with an F 2.0 lens, as opposed to the dual sensor setup that you got on the original pixel 3. It can record 1080p video at 30 frames per second now. That means that the quality of the images and the video that you get out of the camera on the front should be pretty much the same, but you won't be able to do this, something that I really love with ultra wide-angle lens on the pixel 3.
So with the camera specs all squared away for these two devices, we're going to jump into some side-by-side photo and video comparisons to let you see if there's actually any real difference between the cameras on these two photos, so I'm back in the same area couple hours later to get some shots after dark to give you low light performance on these two cameras for pictures and videos as well as you can see, the camera on the Pixel 3a is pretty much identical to that of the pixel 3. There's really not much of a difference, at least not that we can notice. Let me know what you guys think in the comments below, if you think of the camera on the new phone, the $400 phone is just as good as the original pixel now I personally would miss not having that wide-angle lens at the front, but if you really haven't used it before it's not something that you're gonna miss at least not much. Thank you guys so much for watching. If you liked this video, please give it a thumbs up, don't forget to leave us a comment with your thoughts.
We hope to catch you in the next one.
