Is the Battery Life TRASH on the iPhone 12? By Trent’s Tech

All right, everybody here is uh my day in the life usage of my iPhone 12. It is 605 in the morning, so let's go ahead and get it started. So all right! Well, I'm about to head to work, and it's trash day. So gotta go ahead and take this trash out and pretty much here's how the iPhone looks in low light and if we go to a wider angle, looks like the wide angle doesn't do too well in the low light, because there's significantly less light. So let's go back to the normal angle, and you get more light, so that may or may not be a thing for you yeah now we're a little further out front where there is some more light. Let's try this wide angle again and yeah.

As you can see, it gets significantly darker with the wider angle. So if we go back to the normal angle, more light wide angle, less light so go ahead and put this right here, all right. So now I'm in my car I'm using the front facing camera, I'm recording everything in 4k 30. I just took some pictures with the wide angle and with the standard lens and yeah, you have the same problem with the uh wide angle, lens being significantly darker than the standard lens, so you might want to take most of your shots in the standard lens if you're in low light um. If you do the night mode, it's a little better, but the other thing that's kind of annoying me.

Is this whole like lens flare thing, as you can see, I got one right there. I got one right there, um. If you go to the rear cameras, you get the exact same lens flare. So that's a little of an annoyance, but it may not bother you, so I'm going to go ahead and continue my day and head to work and see how the rest of this phone looks. Oh, and all the footage today is being shot on the iPhone 12 using either the front-facing camera or the rear-facing camera so uh all right, so just made it to work and check the battery it's at 86 percent.

Now, that's with me, you know doing these 4k 30 video recordings, adding the stuff into suffusion. Whenever I get a break, I listen to some music and I think I even use the navigation a little, but that's pretty much where I'm at 86 percent. It is 7 15. So we started at 6 o'clock, so um from 6 to 7 15. We lost almost what is that 15 of battery life, but we've been doing stuff, so we're going to go ahead and keep on using this throughout the day, and I'll.

Let you know when we get to the point where we run out of battery. Also, I have been using this in the 5g auto switch mode. That apple basically gives us. You can either go all the way 5g, auto switch or do the LTE. So I'm doing a 5g auto switch just to see how long the battery life lasts.

So every time you see me driving, that's me heading to another school or somewhere else for my job. So few moments later all right, so I've been at work for a couple of hours. Now did an uh google meet using the phone um did some phone calls? Uh did a couple more things, but right now we are sitting at 54 still on uh 5g. I got a 5g signal, and we got 2 hours. I think 2 hours and 20 minutes of screen time on the phone, so we're about halfway through the battery.

So I'm not sure if I'm going to make it to the end of the day like this, but this is basically just to show the battery life. What the camera looks like what? Basically, I guess the average person is going to go through if they were to try all of these things, so I'm going to try and make it to the end of my shift, but I may have to charge the phone all right, we're back in the car. I was able to grab some lunch and actually went around the city a little on my lunch break and just took some pictures uh stop by the uh. I promise school, the LeBron James school as you want to call it took some pictures. They had some nice Halloween stuff.

The portrait mode on here actually looks pretty good. Like last year I had some issues with the portrait mode, but I don't know what they did, but it looks a lot better than what they were doing. Sometimes you still get. You know some photos that have messed up edges, but overall the photos out of this phone look perfect and as far as the battery percentage we are sitting at somewhere around 29 the last time I looked at it, so we're definitely coming down on that battery. We might make it to the end of the day, but I might have to pace myself with this battery all right, so I'm about to wrap up my day at work, but we are down to 16 battery life.

So, according to the screen time, I'm getting like four and a half almost five hours of screen on time, and to be honest, this isn't bad because I've been using the phone I've used. Suffusion I've used the camera I've recorded in 4k. I've edited 4k. I've taken pictures, I've done, google meet calls. Furthermore, I've done phone calls.

So, honestly, the battery life is okay, in my opinion, is it amazing? I'm not sure if I don't think it's really crazy or amazing, but it's not trash. Okay, it's not completely terrible as people would you know name it as I've been on the've been on the LTE 5g, you know antenna or whatever, so it's been going back and forth between 4g and 5g, I've done screen recordings, I've pretty much done it all, and I'm down to 16 percent. So what I'm about to do now is I'm actually about to take this video? It's pretty much already done. I'm going to upload it to YouTube, but pretty much. Did I make it to the end of the day? No, but I probably did a lot more than the average person is going to do with this phone so, but there was also a poll on Twitter that I asked everybody and I asked like what do you think is good screen on time. You know two hours, four hours, seven hours, plus a lot of you, said that you were okay with five to seven hours of screen on time. For someone who is a moderate to heavy user, and so I look at today as moderate to heavy use.
