iPhone XR camera TEST/REVIEW! By Mike Hallman

I've never had a new iPhone before this is exciting. This is the new iPhone 10 arm, I, recently upgraded to it. I've been using it for the past five days or so and I have to say I love. If I'll, be straight with you, I upgraded with this phone for one reason and one reason only the camera. My previous iPhone was an iPhone SE that thing's like 3 years old I, bought it used. It worked great, but then Apple announced these things.

The 10 are the 10s and the 10s max, so I've kind of been putting this thing to the test and here's some of the photos I took this weekend. Amazing right. We live in a crazy time that a cellphone to take pictures like that. So I'll just touch lightly on the 10r real quick. It is not the 10s and the 10s max, but it's a lot cheaper.

So out of the three new iPhones. This is the cheaper model you could buy and the reason being is. The screen is just like not as high-resolution as the other ones and there's no telephoto lens on the camera, but you get the same. Chipset the same camera hardware, a bigger battery and like it's like three hundred dollars, cheaper I, mean a screen resolution. Who cares? One thing out probably will miss that telephoto lens I've noticed for portrait mode.

You got to get right up in the person's face, and it's probably uncomfortable for them. That's when that telephoto lens would have been nice you to back up and give them some breathing room, but no big deal speaking of portrait mode. It works great. It doesn't always look natural and real in my opinions, but if you use it right, it looks incredible. Few things I have noticed.

These things have a feature called smart HDR I turn that off to begin with, because I took this shot here, and I was kind of noticing that Caitlin's skin was like cool and the rest of the image was really warm. I didn't really like the look of that, and I did a lot of tweaking and editing and I still don't think it looks right. It's an amazing photo, but I still have to do some tweaking, so I turned smart, HDR off because I didn't know. If that's just, if that was the cause, does that make sense? I mentioned dynamic range on this phone's camera. It's incredible! Look at this shot here, it's with smart HDR off.

Maybe that bridges right. There would have a little more shadow detail, but you can see just about all the detail on the sky, and you can see the Sun and the clouds and the Sun sphere that just that. Just amazed me that it was able to handle that situation because of a shooting right into the Sun. I've also noticed the front facing camera, the beauty gate thing. That's definitely a thing in my skin just looks kind of weird and smooth and just I look like a lizard and on portrait mode on the front facing camera.

It seems like. Maybe it's just meant for one person. If you look at this shot of Caitlyn and me, her face is out of focus and my face is in focus. I, don't know that could be operator. Error I did test.

Some video features of this too. Of video stabilization is incredible. Let me just let me just show you some of the video I shot this week, and I'll put a little edit together. Okay, I'm going to rent one of these bikes here and ride around all right, I've, rented, a bike here, he's riding along in a nice pace holding the front under me, how's stabilization of the colors how's. Everything has the video that look kind of cool in my opinion, but on the front-facing camera.

What is the rear-facing camera look like on me, the facing camera on me. Any difference I can't do I'm looking at it. So not sure. So. That's been of my experience with the iPhone 10 are for like the past five days and was it a worthwhile upgrade yes and no? Yes, being because I was using kind of an outdated phone, I mean it still worked great, but it's nice to be in the now, and also yes, because the camera on this thing is amazing.

This is the camera. I will always have with me. I, don't always have this camera, but I always have this camera. Do you need like the latest and greatest technology phones whatever to take great images? No, no, of course not. If you have an eye and just know like a little photography, basics, you're going to get great results.

It really doesn't matter what you're using now sure you're like five megapixel point-and-shoot from like ten years ago, may not get great like image quality. But if your heart is in the right place with photography, you could probably capture some amazing moments with it. Some of my favorite shots of the past year were on or on my old iPhone. So that's it. This is kind of my review of the iPhone 10.
