iPhone 7 Plus vs Pixel 2

How you phone seven plus vs. Google Pixel ?, coming up right. Now, let's go so what is up guys Nick here, helping you to master your technology and welcome to the iPhone 7 plus vs. the pixel 2. Now this video is not a speed test. We're gonna talk about you know if you should upgrade or which one you should buy.

Now you might be asking: why are you making this video Nick like seriously? This is a 2017 smartphone right here. This is last year's Apple product I, just don't get it well. Let me explain why here so right now the iPhone 7 plus, you can buy new at the Apple Store for a starting price of six hundred and sixty-nine dollars. Now the pixel two is going for about six hundred and forty-nine dollars give or take here for the entry-level Edition. So let's go to iPhone here, let's go to iPhone seven and let's go to seven plus, and you can see sim-free.

You can see right here. Jet black is the one I'm using you're gonna, see the starting price of six hundred and sixty-nine dollars now. Pixel to you know a little less money so as the prices of the iPhone has risen for the iPhone eight plus in the iPhone 10, some iPhone 7, plus users are taking a look at pixel because. They don't really want to go that high for an iPhone, or maybe you have that kind of money right now, and you're thinking about which one to buy between these two, because they are in the same price category. So, let's begin by talking about the design, the body and the build so talking about the design, the body in the build here, the 7 plus, definitely exude a feel of premium.

It gives you that feeling of you know you paid seven hundred bucks for this thing. So if you buy the 7 plus, even if you get the jet black, it feels slick. It feels smoother feels premium to the hand. So this one I have to give the wind in terms of just feeling the hand when it comes to premium. However, the pixel 2 gives you a unique look now.

Yes, it's pretty ugly to a lot of people here by 2017 standards. But to me, I think it's a pretty clean classy goes with the Google Android simple theme in this Google Pixel 2. So it's a unique design. It's an acquired, taste I. Don't think everybody's going to dig the pixel 2, but it's very light, and it doesn't feel cheap.

It just doesn't feel as premium as a 7 plus now both of them do give you big he bezels on the top and the bottom. However, I do believe that the seven-plus might just feel a little bigger just because it's a bigger foam now in terms of lightness light weight. The seven-plus. I actually really liked this phone because for a big phone it was pretty lightweight. It was like 173 grams.

The pixel too, is even lighter weight at about 143 to 148 somewhere around there. So both of these have a lightweight feeling in the hand, but the seven-plus definitely gives you a bigger screen for around the same price point so overall design the body in the bill. It's an acquired taste I think that most people will like the premium feel of the 7 plus more. But a lot of people will like the lightweight, unique design of the pixel 2, as well so discussing the display quality between both of these Apple touted, the p3 color gamut here for the iPhone 7 plus when it first dropped. A lot of photographers are really happy about this because they want very natural.

You know screen for editing their photos on the fly and to me, I really enjoyed the 7 pluses screen. Now it's very sharp at 401 pixels per inch. It's not the sharpest you can get, not the highest resolution like a 2k panel, but it's definitely pleasing here and has great viewing angles. It's an LCD, so it doesn't have potential for flickering. Furthermore, it also doesn't have potential for burning.

Just like an OLED screen. Does its kind of screen that should probably you know, maybe lasts longer, but doesn't mean it's a better screen to the eye. Overall, though, this one's really tight, let's take a look at the Google Pixel 2, so the pixel 2 is a phone that gives you an OLED panel, so it is manufactured by Samsung here. So of course, they're not going to make it as vibrant as they did on the know galaxies, but Google actually tuned this to be more of a natural look. So the displays himself, you know, side by side, they're, actually quite similar I think there's a little more pix elation going on with the pixel 2, even though it has a higher pixel density, because on a smaller display, the text just doesn't look as clear to me on here, as it does on the 7 plus so overall good display on the pixel 2 good display on the iPhone, 7 plus I.

Think if I had to give a winner here just for sheer display quality I would pick the 7 plus in this comparison. So let's talk about software here, so iOS 11 point 2 here on the 7 Plus. This is the latest version here.15 c1 14 this morning got an android, 8.0 or 8.1 point-o update for the pixel, to which I'm excited to check that out. I probably will do a review on that, but this is as clean as it gets for both platforms. Now iOS 11 has been pretty buggy, and it's taken Apple a while to get this thing extremely smooth, Android, 8.1 and 8.0 are much smoother right now than iOS 11. So if you're, just looking for sheer smoothness, sheer reliability right now, there are more bugs on iOS 11 I have to be real with you.

I use both of these a lot and if I was to pick up one right now, as a recording of this video android 8.0 is smoother. Now when it comes on to the apps and services, that's really a personal preference to you, but like I say just it's just running better right now on 8.0. Now, if you're really into Google you're going to want you know the Google pick so like. If you're into the Google software like Google sheet YouTube Google keep Google Docs the whole suite of Google apps. You want to steer clear of the iPhone.

Yes, it does have Google Apps, but I noticed that some of them are slower to launch, even though they might look prettier on iPhone, they're slower to launch, and they don't work as efficiently as they do on the pixel. So just get the pixel if you find yourself using Google a lot like say on your PC on your desktop you'll enjoy this more get the Apple device. If you find yourself using a lot of you know stuff on your iPad, maybe you have a lot of software on your Mac. You might want to just go with the Apple device. All together just forget about it.

Just go there. If you do that, so we talked about software, and I've yet to do a proper speech as on which one is actually faster in day-to-day use. But this has a snapdragon 835. These seven plus has an apple 810, fusion chip. You know three gigabytes of RAM over here four gigs of ram over here.

To be honest with you, you know the a-10 is actually quite competitive with the 835, the a11 more likely will be competitive with a snapdragon 845. So this one, the seven-plus, is still competitive with most 2017 Android phones, but I can tell you right now. Just in day-to-day use, the pixel 2 will look visually faster to most people, so you've seen right there just open the calculator faster. Let's go ahead and open up calendar, for example, let's do camera. Actually, let's go to camera.

You can see the pixel 2 just slightly ahead there. So you know, is not a proper speed test, but if we were to do one I'm pretty confident that the pixel 2 would be faster in a lot of respects, it just feels like the zippier phone. So if you just want pure raw speed, you might want to take a look at the pixel with developer tweaks. You know changing animations, you know doing a lot of stuff to make it a little faster, like Nova Launcher. The pixel 2 just feels like a rocket now don't get me wrong.

The iPhone 7 plus, is a beast in performance, but you know animations are a little slower. So let's talk about the cameras on the iPhone 7 plus and the pixel 2, so the 7 plus was one of the phones that pioneered the camera game. When it comes to the portrait mode, however, the pixel 2 is doing some HDR processing on its camera. That makes it shine above the 7 plus. Both of these phones give you a great camera but dollar-for-dollar respect, respect.

You know both 12 megapixels, the pixel does port Ramon on the front and the rear with single lenses. So it's pretty smart. This is a very smart camera. This is probably a camera that has a little better UI I think when it comes to ease of use and stuff like that, however, night and day I would pick the pixel 2 if I was just choosing solely between these two on camera, for more money or getting a worse camera, in my opinion, on the iPhone 7 plus you're, getting a much better camera on the pixel 2. So let's talk about storage for value.

So right now, 669 dollars gets you a 32 gigabyte, iPhone 7, plus the Google Pixel 2 is 640 9.99, and it gets you 64 gigabytes base. So rather the gate you get a better value with the pixel 2 here now. The one you probably really want is the $769 version of the iPhone 7 plus, which gives you 128 gigabytes. Now, when you get in the net price category, you start to question: should I just get the iPhone 8, the smaller one that gives me. You know the 11 CPU starting at 64 gigs and that's where it gets confusing the only real one, that's actually cheaper than the newer iPhone 8 is like the starting price, which doesn't give you that much storage.

So if you're going to pay 7 69, you might as well just go to the 8 plus at like 30 bucks more, but here just on the base models alone pick the pixel. If you want a better storage capacity. Also, you got google photos. Unlimited resolution high resolution for a few years here, and it actually really helps because it doesn't really use a lot of storage on your picture. So just storage out the gate pixel to is a better phone here.

So I just want to quickly mention one more thing: you could get iCloud storage on these seven plus, but you're going to pay for it. $0.99 is gonna, get you 50 gigabytes, and then you could pay like $2.99 for 200 gigs I know you could pay $9.99 for like 2 terabytes. However, that storage could run out quickly if you are using multiple Apple devices. So keep that in mind still free here with the purchase of a Google Pixel for Google photos and video storage. It's amazing I've used it already, and it's not that hard to access the files go on google.

com, go to photos, and you're good to go. Let's talk a little about audio. Both of these do have front-facing speakers. This one right here is only up top and then one at the bottom. It still gives you a stereo like sound on the 7 plus Apple did improve the speaker's on the 8 plus, as well as the iPhone 10.

So these don't sound quite as loud as the Google Pixel, which is more competitive with the newer 8 plus an iPhone 10. So if you're picking up one of these in terms of just the audio that comes out of those speakers on the stereo, sound I, to get the Google Pixel now in terms of how they sound through the headphone jack I, do think the iPhone 7 plus a little better, because there is a deck included within that dongle. That comes with the iPhone 7 plus. However, nobody really wants a dongle here, so Bluetooth headphones might be required for both of these phones and audio that comes through headphones. That's really going to depend on your headphones, so overall I would say if you're, just choosing me solely on audio I would pick the pixel because it's louder front facing speakers.

So let's talk about the battery life on both of these devices. Now I should mention too, that you do get 3d touch there with the iPhone 7 plus, but you also kind of get it here with the pixel 2. It's not quite the same, but very similar. Now battery life has been quite shocking. For me, with the pixel to the pixel, 2 has been phenomenal on the battery for a smaller smartphone I've.

Never seen a phone at this size that gets me this kind of battery life. So what I mean by that is these are pretty equal in terms of battery life. They both have around the same capacity and they both last about the same. But again, another win for the pixel is fast charging. The 7 plus is incredibly slow to charge.

Unless you get a bigger brick, they can charge it faster. I would get the pixel two all day every day, because it comes with a fast charger out of the box. Now, in terms of you know, software updates, you will get more updates for the Apple device, but you will also continue to receive updates for Android on the pixel to more than any other Android phone you can buy. So it's pretty you know. Even there now emojis are gonna, be better for the iPhone 7 plus, but which one should you buy? That's really what this whole video is about.

Now, if you're asking me I think dollar for dollar Bank for bank, but for buck. The pixel two is a better value here, even though the iPhone 7 plus I, feel has a much better design. It feels more premium. So if you just want a phone, it feels premium, the seven plus is going to be a better option. If you could find this third-party like use sites or something for cheaper, much cheaper than a pixel ?, then yes, it's a good deal, but at the new prices right now, if you want to apple.

com or google. com you're, buying a seven plus for more money than you are a pixel, ? and I think you get more out of your purchase with a pixel ?, and that is my take on these two smartphones anyway.
