iPhone 12 Pro Vs iPhone XS Max! (Comparison) (Review)

I'm back everyone time to do another comparison, this time around between the iPhone 12 Pro, which is on the left and the iPhone tennis max. That is on the right now. First, the iPhone 12 Pro is the newer iPhone and in a lot of ways it is a better phone than the iPhone 10s max, and I can't knock it there, but it doesn't necessarily mean just because it's new, where it's you know, 100 better in all categories and the tennis max a really cool asset of it is it's a couple of years old. Now it came out in 2018, but you can pick up a lot of these things like less than seven hundred dollars and easily less than like five hundred dollars in a ton of different places, and this one is costing a thousand dollars I'll go and find the cheapest links of both these link them down in the description below you can get them from there and help support the channel at the same time, I'm starting off side by side, one, as I said before, doesn't really feel way bigger than the other one, and I think apple did a perfect job at narrowing down the body bezel of the iPhone 12 Pro you can see. The sides are pretty much flat on the 12 pro. We have the curved sides on the 10s max, but on the front you have a 6.5 inch super retina OLED display on the iPhone x max, and it's 12 42 by 26.88. That's the resolution, and I said before, and I'll say it again.

The iPhone 10s max's panel is perfect, so there's not a lot to hate on it and I say it over and over again, but it's a huge asset of this device. You don't want to pick up a phone and feel like you have a horrible display, you're not going to feel like it. If you have the iPhone 7s max, it's big design wise. It's almost the exact same design as this year's iPhone. I feel like next year, they're going to slim down the notch or whatever, but I think this display, for the most part, still looks pretty good, especially when you compare it to a phone like the iPhone 12 Pro now.

The 12 pro has a 6.1 inch. Super retina, Dr OLED display so a little smaller in pretty much every dimension, but it feels noticeably smaller in the hand. Even though the screen isn't crazy amount, smaller, it's pretty much the same display as an iPhone 10r that came out the same year as this, including the iPhone 11. Now this resolution is 1170 by 2532, so a little lower resolution, but it has a higher PPI density, so it has more pixels per inch technically on this display, and this screen looks perfect too, like I said the flat sides of the iPhone kind of trimmed down the bezel of the body, not necessarily the bezel of the screen, but the body bezel. So it looks a little better in my opinion, and I think definitely when you look at them both.

I think the iPhone 10s max with that bigger display looks really cool, but the 12 pro definitely looks really nice as well. Now, in terms of thickness, I'm pretty sure you're going to be able to see that I think the tennis max may be a little. Thicker the 12 pro apple said. You know it's thinner than his previous generation model, so this one is going to be thinner than the 11 pro, but the tennis max it kind of I don't know you can definitely feel like it's bigger in the hand for sure, but I think the 12 pro still feels pretty thin as well and when you slap them both on top of each other, you can start to see that the 12 pro can pretty much sit in every single dimension of the 10s max. So if you're somebody who wants a smaller you know, phone you'll definitely get it with the 12 pro and even on the back.

We have that triple camera set up with a LIDAR sensor: dual camera setup on the tennis, max frosted, glass, back on the 12 pro and the standard glass back. I have a skin on it, but the standard glass back on the iPhone 10s mag. So definitely when it comes down to the outside. The 12 pro has that newer design. So it does feel and look pretty cool, but the tennis max's design is still pretty current.

You have ip68, doesn't water resistance, but the 12 pro has that newer, six meters of water versus the two meters, water, on the tennis max and in terms of the outside that really pretty much covers it up. They both are very well-built. I don't really think the flat side designed whatever is like a worthwhile upgrade just because of that, but some people may prefer it. So I'll definitely give you that if you want it now, iOS version wise and just software updates, luckily with they both have iOS, so they're both going to be getting software updates for a while and definitely for sure the 12 pro is going to outlast the 10s max in terms of software updates. So if you're somebody who like loves getting software updates all the time, both these phones will pretty much be able to last for quite a bit of time, but the iPhone 12 Pro will pretty much outlast the iPhone 10s max any way you look at it.

So that's something that's very important to note. If you want the phone, that's going to last the longest, the iPhone 12 Pro is the better way to go, but if you don't mind, and you're, okay with still getting you know, multiple years of software updates, the iPhone x max is a tremendous phone still either which one of these you get right now. They're still going to be lasting for quite a bit of time. So in terms of software that pretty much covers it up now, let's go and do a little of a speed test between them, but I'll tell you the specs first, the iPhone 12 Pro has that Apple A14, bionic chip, hex core CPU, with six gigabytes of ram on each model, with the iPhone x max, has that Apple A12, bionic chip x, core CPU and four gigabytes of ram on each model. So let's go and see which one is the faster one between both of these okay.

Let me go and clear on all the apps in the background and the 12 priority has them all taken out so start loading things up, let's go and do like the app store. For example, three two one and the twelfth pro was actually noticeably faster and if you can't tell the 12 pros on the right, the tennis max is only left and scrolling through. You can see that. Actually, I think the tennis max may look a little smoother at first, probably not they're, both almost exact the same when it comes down to it. Both of them are on iOS 14 and always.

I have a bunch of these third-party apps that we can go and get into. Let's do Netflix three two ones. The 12 pro is faster, followed by the 10s max snake versus box or Quizlet 321, faster on the 12 pro a little slower on the 10s max Dropbox 321 and again the 12 pro was faster. The iPhone 10s max a little behind BFA three two one 12 pro is faster tennis max a little behind again, not a crazy, big difference, but definitely we're seeing you know the 12 pros being the fastest one each time. Thank you three two one and the 12 pro again is the faster one and the tennis max a little behind it.

Gameplay wise they're going to be about the same. I'm sure you guys will be able to tell that let's go ahead and do snake versus blocks three two one, and it's gonna, look like the 12 pro is a faster one, followed by the tennis max, and I love seeing these you know can like just continuous updates and just continuous speed improvements. I don't like it when, like a phone is faster than the other, one is faster than I like it when it's consistently faster than the 12 pro looks to be continuously faster, at least right now, fruit, ninja three two one and of course we have this little pop up here. So I guess we'll just assume that the 12 pro is going to be faster, but we won't say that paper out two three, two one, and again it didn't open up here. That's very weird: maybe I clicked it wrong, but brow two again, three, two one twelve pros faster.

I thought it was gonna, be slower, tennis max a little behind it getting to some gameplay. This is actually kind of an intensive game. It's always a little laggy on both the tennis max seem to be a little glitchy in my opinion, but you guys will be able to tell over the camera. We can do temple run two three two one, and it's looking like the 12 pro is going to be the faster one. Again and again I like seeing these continuous updates and just you know, a consistent winner each time that seems to be the case here so again, the 12 pro was the faster one here, a ton of pop-ups here, but okay, I mean gameplay is going to be about the same.

It's just the loading speeds is something that's actually really, really cool for me. Let's go ahead and do real racing three two one there may be a chance where I may glitch up on the 12 pro since I just updated it, but I guess we'll see the tennis max a little of a glitch again, but it happens for every single app that I open.12 pro is a faster one and the tennis max may glitch up. It may be downloading something in the background. I've seen this time and time again, but I would have still assumed that the 12 pro would have been the faster one in this case as well. So let me go and hop out of this one.

Let's go ahead and see what the next one is. I mean we can do stack three two one and again the 12 pro seem to be faster loaded, the ad up faster as well. I guess I can get into some gameplay and I guess even a game like this you're, probably not going to tell that big of a difference, but I mean we've been able to pretty much see, and you saw how the tennis max when I swiped out it's kind of glitching up a little, and I like seeing these. You know time and time against. This was a really, really good speed comparison.

I was able to see you know it may have not been the good one for you guys, but for me, I was able to see pretty much a consistent winner. The iPhone 12 Pro is going to continuously be faster than the iPhone tennis max, and that is something that is very, very important. When you're going to go an update to a phone, you don't want a phone that sometimes faster. Sometimes not I've been saying with the 12 pro versus, like the 11 pro even against the 10s, the iPhone 12 versus the 10s. I was saying that there were like minor updates here and there, but you know one may have been a little slower here and there like it was very weird, but now, if you're going from a 10s max to an iPhone 12 Pro you're, definitely going to see an improvement in the speed department, quite possibly in the ram department too.

Neither one of these has glitched up yet, but that pretty much covers up this one. Let me go and hit on the cameras between them both now on the back, like I said, a triple camera setup here, dual camera setup on the iPhone x max with that LIDAR sensor on the 12 pro. Now all these camera sensors are 12 megapixel sensors on each the iPhone 12 Pro has that additional ultrawide sensor, the iPhone 10s max- has that telephoto lens? Is it a big deal to you? You're going to have to ask yourself that question to me. I like having that ultra white sensor, to be honest. Now, looking on the UIs of both, you can see that you know we have pretty much the same exact thing going on in both.

So it's not like you're going to have way more features on one camera over the other one. In my opinion, you have 4k at 60 capability on both phones. I feel like the biggest difference will come in terms of the front camera. The iPhone 12 Pro has a 12 megapixel sensor that you can do 4k 60 on the front camera. The iPhone 10s max, however, has a 7 megapixel sensor.

You can only do 1080p at 60. Is that a big deal to you, you're gonna, have to ask yourself, but to me, I like having a better front camera than even a better back camera. In my opinion, now with the iPhone 10s max, this camera has been perfect. I mean I've been telling you guys over and over again the quality of these older iPhones. Even this one's, not that old, but even something like a 6s or a 7.

Those camera qualities are perfect and their features, you know, aren't really the best, but at least they're consistent. I guess that's like the only good thing about it is that you know a lot of features that we have on the tennis max 12 pro. You can even still have them on like a phone like a 7 plus, for example. Now you do have 4k at 60 on the back, like I say the two, so whatever you're going to do on this camera, it's going to be perfectly fine, and you're, not necessarily going to feel like you have a ancient device unless you want to get that ultra white sensor, which may be you know the biggest downside of this camera. Besides that front camera on this now, the 12 pro, like, I stated you know, has that ultra-wide sensor, which is really cool.

I like having that ability of kind of shooting those type of photos or videos in the ultrawide mode and there's a lot of you know, reasoning. Why that's the case? You also have that LIDAR sensor here too and day to day you're going to feel like you have, I guess, an overall, better camera setup on this thing, especially on that front camera. If you're somebody who's vlogging, or you just like to take photos or videos, you're making snap chats or tech talks or whatever, I feel like you're, going to have a higher quality camera on the iPhone 12 Pro in terms of the front camera than the tight and the 10s max. So keep that in mind, but definitely when it comes down to the camera department, the iPhone 12 Pro 100 wins, in my opinion now in terms of the battery life, and this is a very interesting area. So the tennis max has a 3174 million power battery.

The iPhone 12 Pro has a 2815 million power battery and between both I'm probably gonna, say that they're, both around the same type of battery life, it is estimated that the 12 pro will have better battery life, but I haven't done a full battery comparison. I've only like used the tennis max for years and the 12 pro for a little, and I mean compared to 11 pro to the 12 pro. That's definitely not going to have as good battery life the 12 pro, but between these two I will say they're about the same. I would say they're probably going to end within like an hour of each other, not even I would have assumed that tennis max would have been a little better, but because the a14 chip inside here may be a little more optimized. I do have to give that the benefit of it out, so I'll probably say these would end up around the same time.

So in terms of battery that pretty much covers it up and to kind of sum up this video and to answer the question: should you pick up the iPhone 12 Pro? Should you pick up the iPhone XS max? I'm going to tell you guys right now. If you have an iPhone 10 s max going to an iPhone 12 Pro is a pretty decent upgrade, I'm not going to say it's a horrible upgrade or anything like that like. If you have all the money in the world, then by all means go for it. I think it's a worthwhile update for sure it's a great phone. It's the best iPhone.

You can buy right now, but it doesn't necessarily mean it's like the best valued iPhone or anything, and I'll be completely honest. Going from an iPhone x max to the 12 pro you're only gaining a couple of different features, if you even call them features now the pros and cons for the tennis max, I mean I think this is still a tremendous phone you're, getting a great build quality, great camera for the most part, pretty good performance. You know you're getting it not a slow phone by any means, it's slower than the 12 pro, but the 12 pro is a superfast phone still you're getting a great screen. Like I stated. I think I already said that the screen, I think, is one of its biggest assets.

You're, getting iOS support for a very long time.4K 60 on the back camera, pretty decent, at least comparable battery life to the 12 pro. But again the 12 pro is the newer, iPhone and you're getting you know more features, I guess from this phone you're getting that LIDAR sensor and a better camera setup. If you're somebody who cares about their camera. A lot the iPhone 12 Pro will probably be. You know a better asset for you.

I guess you're getting comparable battery life you're, getting better IP certification that MagSafe capability on the back too right here, if you're into it, which I think is a waste of money like I said that LIDAR sensor, I think, is a pretty big deal for some people to others. Maybe not it's going to be a longer lasting phone than the iPhone 10s max in terms of software, also you're getting twice the amount of base storage. So if you have 64 gigs here, you can get 128 here, which is really cool and really for the most part, the 12 pro is the better device, but I still think if you have an iPhone 10s max, it's really not worth it to go from a tennis max to the iPhone 12 Pro. In my opinion, both these phones are great and if you can wait till the iPhone 13, I feel like that will be a really, really big up. There's going to be a lot of different capability that that phone is going to bring and maybe even a bigger design change than what we saw on the 12 pro, so that really pretty much covers it up for the most part, if you guys have any other questions, or you want to pick these things up like I said, the links will be down in the description.
