I have been using the 12 pro for three days now, and I think this iPhone is a terrific buy, and we will get into the reasons a little later in the video.
I'm going to steal a line from Marquez and say that the iPhone 12 Pro this year is the awkward middle child, but that doesn't mean the awkward middle child is undeserving of your attention. Furthermore, I guess, if you really wanted to you, can call this year's lineups of iPhones a redesign, but it's more of a recycled design where apple went back to the flat design, reminiscent of the iPhone 4s, the iPhone 5 and my favorite, the iPhone SE. Furthermore, I'm not going to lie. Furthermore, I really do dig this design. It feels very industrial and modern, it's easier to hold in the hands, and it just feels like you're getting this premium product almost worth the money you do dish out.
If you really want to get this specific blue color, it's only available with the pro variant in the iPhone 12 lineup, I'm not going to lie. This color is really growing on me. I was leaning more towards the gold before, but after using this for about a couple of days, the pacific blue is just so nice and believe it or not. There are people out there willing to pay the extra 120 to go from an iPhone 12 to the iPhone 12 Pro strictly to get their hands on this color, but that's not all you're. Getting with the iPhone 12 Pro.
You do get a more premium design with stainless steel bands a slightly brighter panel, the ability to capture photos in pro raw and my favorite the addition of a telephoto lens. I personally use the telephoto lens a lot more than the ultra-wide. So for me, a telephoto lens is almost a must-have on any smartphone and that extra telephoto lens is only offered on the iPhone 12 Pro. I do dig the premium design of the stainless steel bands. They do definitely pick up a lot of scuff marks and all stains from your fingers, but I'm going to make the assumption that a lot of you out there are using the iPhone 12 Pro in a case, and if that is the case, no pun intended, then it's not really noticeable on this specific blue color.
The case that I'm rocking right now is the pit aka air case and man. This is such a nice and minimal case. It won't offer much protection from drops, but if you do have Apple Care- and you want a nice to the touch minimal case, that won't add much weight to your iPhone, then this is definitely the case to get. If any of you are interested in the pit aka air case, I will leave a link in the description below so make sure you go and check that out. So you want to know as to what I'm still confused about I'm still confused as to why apple decided to include a lightning to USB-C cable instead of a lightning to USB-C cable in the box, which I feel like would have made a lot more sense.
Considering that there is no power, brick included this year, a lot of people that I know will not be upgrading from the iPhone 11 Pro to the iPhone 12 Pro, so the people that are buying the iPhone 12 Pro are most likely coming from older iPhones, which always used to include an USB a power. Brick. I'm not complaining about apple, not including a charging brick this year like at this point, I'm just going to learn to accept it, but I'm still confused as to why they decided to include an USB c to lightning cable instead of an USB-C to lighting cable, which I feel like would have made a lot more sense for people coming to the iPhone 12 Pro the new a14 bionic is superfast. This is easily the fastest phone I have used thus far in 2020. It's super snappy, apps, open and close fast.
Switching between the apps is a breeze which I honestly did expect from an iPhone in 2020. Although I will say this, the lack of a high refresh rate display really does make you wonder what could have been apple's logic behind. This was if they do give the 12 pro a high refresh rate panel. The panel in combination with 5g will ultimately hinder the battery life. Well, my argument is that the world isn't ready for 5g.
I strongly feel like Apple could have put off 5g for at least another year or two and given us that high refreshment panel, which would have really taken the iPhone 12 Pro to a whole other level. A major concern of mine regarding the 12 pro was the battery life. The 12 pro is 11, thinner and 13 smaller than the iPhone 11 Pro, which means it does come with a smaller 28 15 William battery. It's definitely too early to judge the battery life, but so far the battery life seems to be pretty good. For the past three days, I've been averaging around seven hours of screen on time on a 4g network which I do consider to be above average.
So it does seem like the a14 bionic is a very efficient chipset. Then, of course, we have the cameras. The standard wide-angle lens now comes with a 1.6 aperture, which apple claims will now improve your low-light photography by 27. So naturally, what I did was take a bunch of pictures in the dark, because, thanks to daylight savings, it gets dark here around 5 pm now so low light. Photography is the only images that I realistically have time to take, and you know what I was really impressed by some of these low light shots.
Sometimes it does look like the exposure is cranked up all the way and sometimes the low light images turn out really nice. I even recorded some video in low light conditions, and this phone does a solid job of retaining detail and getting some decent footage thanks to the lower aperture. So this is being shot on the front facing camera of the iPhone 12 Pro, and it is being shot in 4k 60 fps. So it is pretty impressive that this camera can shoot in 4k 60fps. So this is what I sort of sound like, and this is what you can expect in terms of quality in pretty low light conditions right now, so yeah it is pretty cold out right now.
So I'd really appreciate it. If you guys could leave a like on this video and do consider subscribing to the channel for more iPhone related content, peace but yeah. That has pretty much been my initial impressions and thoughts on the iPhone 12 Pro. If you did buy one, I think you made a solid choice. The only ongoing argument is that why would you get the iPhone 12 Pro when the better iPhone 12 Pro max is right around the corner? Well, for one not everyone wants a bigger phone.
I personally prefer the smaller and compact phones, like the 12 pro. My only concern was the battery life, and so far the battery life seems to be solid. I will, of course, cover a lot more in my full review. I just want to spend more time with the 12 pro and I do want to break down all of its camera capabilities properly in my full review, so make sure you leave a like on this video and do consider subscribing to the channel, because a lot more iPhone related content is coming up, as always. Thank you guys so much for watching and don't forget to flex with your attack.
