Hi there, my name is Sam from worst. com and welcome to new comparison, video between the Samsung Galaxy s20 ultra and the Apple iPhone 12 Pro max. We are comparing both phones in terms of display performance, camera design and battery stay tuned and find out which phone is, in our opinion, the better phone. If you'd like to see more videos like this feel free to subscribe and hit the notification bell, let's start straight away with our review. Let the facts speak display. The galaxy s20 ultra has a 6.9 inch display with a 1440p resolution. It is fitted with an old screen which also does a fantastic job.
The s20 ultra's display measures, 17.44 centimeter diagonally, with a pixel density of 511 PPI. The s20 has the 2020 master feature of an impressive 120 hertz refresh rate, but this option is not possible with the highest resolution, so the s20 ultra has a great big screen, but the way Samsung implemented the 120hz into the phone is not ideal. Yet let us compare it to the iPhone. The iPhone 12 Pro max has a 6.7 inch display with a 1284 p resolution. The 6.7 inch display. Therefore, measures 17 centimeters diagonally with a pixel density of 458 PPI, the iPhone's olive screen, creates, as usual, very natural colors.
The refresh rate on the iPhone 12 Pro max is 60 hertz, even though we think that tendon should have put the capability to have 120hz refresh rate in combination with the highest possible resolution. All other specs tend to let the galaxy win in this direct comparison. The s20 ultra screen is bigger with a higher resolution and pixel density. The iPhone has a great screen with really accurate colors, but it loses out on direct comparison to the s20 altar, which is taking home. The point of this category performance, the galaxy s20 ultra model that we use in this comparison has a Samsung Enos 990 chips with 2 times, 2.7 gigahertz and the 4 times 2.4 gigahertz and the 2 times 1.95 gigahertz for silent performance. Keep in mind that this is the European version, the s20 ultra version, which is sold in the USA, china and South Korea has also the snapdragon 865 built in this phone.
Has 12 gigabyte ram with 128 gigabyte internal storage capacity? There's also a 16 gigabyte ram model with 512 gigabyte internal storage capacity on the market. This dodge capacity can typically be expanded by up to one terabyte. This version has got the weaker Enos processor, which did not work out for Samsung. So far. Next up the iPhone.
The iPhone 12 Pro max is equipped with apple's a14 bionic chip. The phone has six gigabyte ram and the individual models offer different storage capacities.128, 256 and 512 gigabyte are available. Dodge capacity, unfortunately, cannot be expanded, as it is typically for Apple iPhone devices, so both phones work with their in-house produced processor. Let's take them into the intuitive benchmark test to find out how they perform. The tests are divided into three phases: a performance test of the ram, a test of how the device is handling two-dimensional graphics and an endurance test of how the device is handling 3d, graphics.
The iPhone 12 Pro max clearly performed better than the galaxy s20 ultra the 12 from max takes home. The performance point camera the iPhone 12 Pro max has a treble rear camera system. It features a 12 megapixel ultra-right, a 12 megapixel wide and a 12 megapixel telephoto camera. The front camera resolution is also 12 megapixels. The iPhone 12 Pro max records, 4k videos at a maximum of 60 frames per second, and of course it has image stabilization for video.
The 12 pro max also has a sensor shift optical image, stabilization for its wide angle, camera so much for the specs of the iPhone 12 Pro max. Let's now dive into the camera specs of the galaxy s70 ultra, the s20 ultra has also four main cameras: ultra ride, wide angle, telephoto and death vision. The cameras have a resolution of 108 megapixels, five megapixels and 48 megapixels. The front camera's resolution is 40 megapixels, the Samsung Galaxy s20 ultra records 8k videos at a maximum of 24 frames per second, and of course it has image stabilization for video too. Both phones have good camera systems, but which one is actually the better system.
Let's take it to our camera test and, let's find out which one does a better job. The iPhone 12 Pro max takes sharp pictures with great natural color, rendering pictures taken with Samsung's galaxy s20 ultra are equally sharp and color. Rendering is good. Both phones take sharp images with their front camera. The 12 pro max has a 5 volt optical and 12 volt digital zoom feature the s20 ultra, on the other hand, has a 10 volt optical and a 100 volt digital zoom, but, as we already mentioned in previous videos, all the way zoomed in doesn't really make sense, since the pictures are a total pixel mass, the Samsung Galaxy s20 ultra thanks to a resolution of 8k, produces top quality videos, full HD mode offers frames per second and a HD mode up to 960 frames, which records really great slow motion.
Videos. The iPhone thanks to a resolution of 4k, also produces excellent videos. You can work out slow motion videos with up to 240 frames per second in full HD mode. The point for the best camera in this comparison goes to the iPhone 12 Pro max. The overall image quality is better than Samsung's.
Once again, a high amount of megapixel does not necessarily produce better. Looking images design, Samsung uses a very elegant glossy finish for its galaxy s20 ultra. The quad camera system is also well positioned in the upper left corner on the back of the phone, but unfortunately the camera bomb sticks out a lot. The smartphone weighs 220 gram, it's roughly 16.69 centimeter long 7.6, centimeter wide and 0.88 centimeter deep. It has an USB connector.
The ip68 rating makes it also water and dust resistant. The s20 uses face recognition technology and the fingerprint scanner which is built onto the screen to unlock the phone. The camera bump on the s20 ultra is huge. So let's take a look at apple's phone to see what they came up with the iPhone 12 Pro max has a glossy stainless steel frame and a matte glass finish on the back. Typically, for apple, it has a very high end, look and feel to it.
The turbo cameras are well positioned in the upper left corner on the back of the phone, the smartphone weighs 228 gram, it's roughly 16 centimeter long 7.81, centimeter wide and 0.74 centimeter deep. It uses apple's, lightning connector and is ip68 rated. So it's water and dust resistant, and it is supposed to be four times more drop resistant than previous models. The iPhone uses face recognition technology to unlock the phone, the face ID as usual works perfect at daylight, and also good in a week light environment. In this case, we think that the iPhone 12 Pro max is a more appealing phone, even though the camera of the pro max sticks out more than its smaller sibling.
It just looks better than the chunky bump on the back of the s20 ultra. Also, the build quality is more high end. We really like the matte finish, but this is our subjective opinion. You might disagree with this. Let us know in the comments below what you think of apple's design or if you like, Samsung's design more.
We love to hear your opinion battery the Samsung Galaxy s20 ultra when fully charged has 5 000 William hours. The iPhone, on the other hand, when fully charged has only around 3 687 William hours in terms of capacity, the s20 ultra should last longer. Let us find out whether that's really the case in our day-to-day usage test. The Apple iPhone 12 max failed again in this category. The galaxy s20 ultra's way, bigger battery helps it to last longer, but once again, both phones got through a whole day of normal usage.
It always depends on the way you use your phone and the settings you use it. In conclusion, alright, it is time for the conclusion which phone is actually the better phone. How do we do that? That is why, by going through all the categories to find out which phone's got the most points, the dispatch category won the s20 ultra, since it is a slightly bigger screen and, most importantly, it has the 120 hertz refresh rate feature in terms of performance, the iPhone software hardware, implementation took home, the win. The camera point also went to the iPhone its system produced better pictures and therefore won. In our opinion, the iPhone is more high-end looking, which is the reason why it won the design category.
The last point won the galaxy s20 ultra because of apple's disappointing decision to put a smaller battery into the most expensive phone overall Apple's iPhone 12 Pro max scored three out of five points, which makes it the winner in this comparison. Naturally, we review more than these 5 categories covered here.
