Google Pixel 4a 5g Review | The BEST Phone you should buy...?

Pixel 4a 5g is the best 5g device that you can buy in 2020 and probably the first half of 2021. Let me tell you why what's up everybody, this is Scott. Welcome back to another video in today's video. I want to talk about the Pixel 4a 5g. I've had a chance to spend quite a bit of time with the 4a 5g. The pixel 5 has been my daily driver for a long time, but I swapped and had the Pixel 4a 5g as my daily driver for a little while now, and I want to tell you why I think it's the best 5g device that you can get in 2020 and probably the first half of 2021.

, I'm not going to give you a bunch of specs. But at this point you know it's got a 765g six gigs of ram and all that other jazz. That comes with it. I want to talk about the design, the aesthetics of the device, the battery life, the performance kind of that pixel, goodness that you get, and probably also the video and the cameras, because they're no slouch either look. This is a 500 device.

That's pretty bland looking overall, but I really like the fact that there's no craziness comes apart from it. When you look at screen, it is a plastic design, all black and pretty much minimalistic in every single way, and that's fine. Now the pixel doesn't come in any crazy colors or anything like that, but you could slap a brand skin or a case on it, which is what 80 percent of the people do for the most part. I actually really like the minimalist design that comes with the 4a 5g, except for the fact that this device is incredibly slick. It is very, very slippery in comparison to the pixel 5.

You can see on screen right now, the 5 next to the 4a 5g and the way that that thing feels it is a slippery device. So if you are going to get the 4a 5g, please put a case on it, because that thing slips right out of your pocket. I've had basketball, shorts and jeans and all the other jazz, and it slips right out. It is a super slippery device. The 4a 5g is a 6.2 inch display, so it's bigger, and it's the biggest pixel that you can get in 2020 in terms of size. Now this device comes with a headphone jack, which is incredibly welcomed.

The idea is, I can use this thing just like I do the Pixel 4a that also comes with the headphone jack, but there are some trade-offs by getting something like a headphone, jack and stereo speakers, because it comes with that too, that the pixel 5 has that the 4a doesn't have most, notably that includes wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. Look, I am not a person that really has to use wireless charging. I have a pixel stand on my desk and it yeah. I just put my phone on it as needed, but I'm also one of those people that have a cord that's readily available. So I'm not huge.

On the whole wireless charging thing, I don't even wirelessly charge my devices at night, even though I have the ability to do so for the majority of consumers they're not going to care about that either, because this does come with the fast charging. Just like the 4a does, and just like the pixel 5 does so. The wireless charging is not a big deal at all when it comes to using it, and I will gladly give away wireless charging to have a headphone jack, because I have tons of great headphones that I need to use. That requires a headphone jack and I don't want to use a dongle. So a huge benefit to the 4a5g is the fact that it comes with a headphone jack.

I really, really like that. Let's talk about one of the other differences when it kind of compared to the other pixel line. This comes with those stereo speakers that I casually mentioned before, and these stereo speakers are no slouch either. I'm going to link a little card up here, so you can listen to some key differences between it and the pixel 5. Spoiler alert.

It definitely demolishes the pixel 5 in pretty much every single way, because it has that front firing speaker, that's not under the glass, and it also doesn't take a lot of the display away and that display looks pretty darn good. If you ask me now, did they go with the highest end? Display nope they didn't, but the idea that this particular display can be powered by that 765 chip and sip. The battery life is more than enough for me that 6.2 inch display is full HD. It's not the quad HD or anything like that, and that's probably why that in combination with the 765g chip means that this thing is a battery champ. So let's talk about that look I tried to throw as much as I could at this 4a 5g from a battery life perspective, and this thing took it like a champ, no question.

I had Instagram and Twitter and YouTube, and I was constantly using it now, keep in mind. I'm not going out a lot to really make the 5g fully stress the 765 chipset or anything like that, but I stayed inside mostly on Wi-Fi because of what's going on in 2020, and I was routinely getting full day. Furthermore, I would get to the end of the day and I would have 25 30 battery life left in my pixel 5 videos. Furthermore, I talked about how good the pixel 5 battery life is and the 4a 5g is no different. Furthermore, I hear a lot of people asking in the comments how's the battery life in the 4a 5g, it's just as good as the pixel 5 and the Pixel 4a, which are the three battery champs in 2020, in my personal opinion, out of all smartphones.

So let me just say this as clear as I can. If you buy the 4a, the 4a 5g or the pixel 5 battery life is not a worry for you, you will go literal days if you use the battery the right way. I am a power user using tons of music streaming outlook for my work, email Gmail for my regular email, all the social medias and I couldn't kill it in a day and I really tried. I am overwhelmingly happy with the battery life that comes out of the 4a 5g. So what are some other benefits of the 4a5g you're? Getting all the exclusive pixel drops that come out so there's this new adaptive sound! That's going to be coming out here very shortly, and you're going to get the full benefit of all of that as well, and that's really where the software experience starts to excel.

Of course, this is a pixel. Let's jump outside, and I'll show you what some videos and photos look like on the device right now. Okay, so I've popped outside to a park, and you can see this is an obviously a selfie stick um one of those job selfie sticks the teleport, which I absolutely love. That's not the point. The point is I'm on a selfie stick walking front-facing camera, which is 1080p 30 frames a second on the Pixel 4a 5g.

So everything that you see here is done through the 4a 5g, the front-facing camera. Now, let's flip, this does 4k 60 frames. Well, 4k 30 frames in 4k 60 frames a second, so you can see what it looks like on the rear facing camera. So the first thing that you see here is 4k 30 frames, a second on the regular just the 1x, just the regular old lens. Now.

What I want to do is do the ultra-wide now, I'm flipping to the ultra-wide that you see here again, 30 frames, a second everything that you see here is filmed no post-production, color, correction or audio anything down here. This is all done through the native app. So let's switch this back to the 1x. Now I'm going to flip this and go 2x the telecom right on that goal right in front of me now I'm walking on the grass, which isn't the easiest to walk in. I suppose it's I mean grass, but it's kind of bumpy, been aerated.

Uh, definitely hasn't mowed in a while. So everything you see from a stabilization perspective is the same stabilization that you see and get directly in camera from the 4a 5g. How does it look now? Let's switch to 4k 60, so you can see what that looks like now. This is 4k 60 frames per second. Now, when you do that, you lose the ability for ultra-wide on the 4a5g, which is what it is.

So that's where some phones like the iPhone or the Samsung would definitely have the advantage. But look at this stabilization as I kind of turn around here, I'm going to walk right back towards the blue van that you see in the parking lot. Look how good that stabilization is. It is freaking amazing. I've said it in all my other comparison: videos, it's like this weird black magic.

Now, let's do 2x zoom 2x zoom that you see still 4k 60 frames. A second look at the stabilization absolutely astonishing from a 500 device that gives you arguably the best point shoots. Definitely the best portraits and you're getting this huge upgrade to the video that they've done this year and all the pixel devices absolutely love. What google's done. What's even better is they're going to be able to do some of this stuff and change and make changes when they upgrade the hardware to match their very elite level software that you're getting out of the pixel.

Now, let's take a look at some of those photos. One of the questions I got was, if I do nothing where I don't use a tripod at all, and I'm actually holding it straight by hand. This is what you could expect, I'm holding it just in my hand, so this is what the stabilization looks like on the front facing camera. Let's do a quick, you know five or ten seconds flip this thing around, so you can see what it looks like literally hand holding. So let's flip it now.

This is handheld 4k 30 frames. A second literally no tripod you can see here is the tripod that I was using. I'm walking towards this goal right here. I'm going to turn and look at this way. Now, let's flip to ultra-wide the ultra-wide, just going to move around again all hand held out in front of me no tripod at all, which is crazy.

Go back to the one x. Now, I'm going to turn this way. I'm going to do 2x. This is what the stabilization 2x uh telephoto, when I'm walking with just legitimately handheld. I cannot believe the stabilization of all the set is absolutely insanity.

This is why I think this is the best 5g device that you can buy right now, even over the pixel 5, and I am a huge pixel 5 guys, because you're getting this for 500 you're, getting an excellent camera experience, you're getting a very clean google-like experience with the software you're getting battery life that lasts literal days, and you have no question no stuttering, no anything when it comes to the performance again, if you're gaming, and you're doing some hardcore coding and things like that yeah, you may experience some stuttering, but as a regular user using all the socials sharing photos, sharing videos and doing the whole nine yards, I didn't have a stutter at all. So would I recommend this to anybody absolutely hands down? If you are in the pixel environment today, and you're on an older pixel, there's no question, I would recommend upgrading to the 4a 5g. I would recommend going to the 4a5g before I would go with the pixel 5. Only if you're, ok with the screen size, keep in mind. This particular device is much larger when it comes to the pixel 5 and the 4a 5g.

If you want a smaller footprint phone, pixel, 4a, pixel 5. , no question, if you want that XL variety or the one that you're really missing the big screen real estate, and it comes with a headphone jack for a 5g for sure this is a device that is 4k 60 frames a second with the craziest stabilization. You get the king of all portrait modes, and you get some dynamite point and shoots. This is more than enough to keep up with some heavy hitters in the flagship arena so yeah. I definitely love the experience when it comes to the camera in the video out of the 4a 5g.

So at the end of the day, am I recommending it yep, no question hands down if you haven't tried a pixel device, my recommendation is to try any of the three pixels that come out in 2020, and I'll bet you, you may just stick with Google Pixel from here on out. So that's it! That's all I have thanks for watching and, as always as share subscribe thumbs up, leave a comment below we'll see you next time.
